your in luck. i just happen to be the scooter guru on this site. first don't even think about a chinese scooter unless you want to work on it all the time. i had one they are junk, was great after i reengineered it. i had a honda helix 250. probably one of the best scooters out there. 64 mpg no matter how you rode it. would cruise at 70 and out run most cars on the road. lots of leg room. great weather protection. my no.1 choice. next yamaha 400 majesty. more expensive ,cruise at 80, top speed over 100, 54 mpg all the time and quite fast for a scooter. better than a bergman because of easier maintenance. korean scooters are okay but aren't cheap and won't have the resale of the japenese scoots. i would recomend overall the helix. i love my majesty but my helix got 10 more miles to a gallon and had more leg room. the yammer is a little cramped. my wife and i take the scooter every where. hardley use the cage when the weathers nice. hope this helps with your decision. if you want to know more give me a holler. bill

you don't have to be a member to go.it costs $49.00 per person to register, but you don't even have to do that unlees you want to go to the banquet and get t-shirts. getting a motel will be the hard part. bill

i'm probably one of the worst roadragers out there. absolutely hate tailgators and people running stop lights. could never carry a gun because of that. those to things are all that bothers me on the road. just can't handle it.

i went to a v-star 1300 and love it. wife does'nt. so now i have the v-star for short trips and around town and a new wing for the tough stuff. believe it or not we ride my majesty scooter around town most of the time. got 5500 miles on it in a little over a year, just to and from work and around town. at 55 mpg that adds up to alot of gas saved.- 20 replies

bottom line on this whole thread. to each his own on loud pipes. if some one does'nt like them to bad. to say they save lives is about as rediculous as it sounds. just say loud pipes save lives out loud to your self and then think how stupid that sounds. think i'll put a straight pipe on my lawnmower so the neighbor don't get run over.

i could tell you how to make him forget the shoulder pain, but you probably already tried that. :rotf::rotfl: tell dale to get well, enjoy taking it easy, and make the most of being waited on.
-
i agree with you, the two i have with loud pipes were done for performance on one ,and i don't know what the heck i was thinking on the other one. wish i could quite the zx14 down, and paid to much for the v&h exaust on my v-star to take it off. did do baffle mods on both to quiet them a little. if the cops get me, no excuses. bill

we really enjoyed it. did'nt get a chance to wave good bye. figured you guys dropped off for gas. just got back from a 100+ mile coffee run down to herman this morning. can't seem to let the wing sit very long. we'll do it again soon. thanks to all of you for the great day. bill

loud pipes save lives, like helmets kill. people will look for any excuse to defy the law. i have nothing against loud pipes. like i said i have a couple of bikes.that are loud and one that annoys the hell out of me, and everyone else. they are both illegal cuz they no longer have the converters on them. if i get a ticket i pay the piper. i'm not going to try to whine my way out of it with some cock and bull story that i'm trying to save lives. get real people take responsibility for your own actions for a change. if you don't like the law don't gripe about it get it changed, or live with it.

well the last time i looked in my garage there was a cage parked there. guess i'm a cager. am i the only one on this site that has a cage? can't fathom that. when i was young i liked loud pipes. now they are very annoying to me. i don't knock the people that have loud pipes, i still have a couple of bikes that make a little noise, and i loved them years ago. these kids got to have their day just like we did. bill

just got a great idea for the eureka springs meet. we are going to have a day for the ladies. starting with a place of their choice to eat breakfast, followed by a day of shopping in old town eureka springs, then followed by their choice of a place to eat dinner. all the men will have to go shopping and come up with a gift for a lady and names will be drawn back at the motel during the night party on the deck. by the way i am having a hard time coming up with a t-shirt design that will be acceptable to everybody this will be for shirts and patches. give me some input. no specific model bike pictures. i already got the tough logo. venturerider eureka springs 2008 rally. give me a picture. we are going to have a drawing for the guys too. so guys bring a little something for that. i already have a few neat things i am bringing. i want this to be a great rally so any ideas will be appreciated. bill
