hey jay, he will love that 1300. yamaha got it right the first time around. it does everything exactly right. almost sportbike handling, very powerful and fast, good looks, great mileage, and ultra comfortable, feels very light and nimble at low speed, and sits low. bad points, bars to short for some, and valves a bear to adjust.

hey lonna ,somebodies got to keep him out of trouble.:rotf: bill

ive got disabled plates on majesty scooter, for my wife. i try not to take up a whole place and usually park off to the side. in the lined area. hate to take up a whole space if not neccesary. when i was at the license bureau getting the plates some old fart behind me on crutches made a smart remark. was about to put his crutches where the sun don't shine. you should be able to get plates. the gal at the counter did'nt even know they were available.she had to ask a supervisor. the bike had to be in my wifes name also to get the plates. bill

your right brad . mine is still pulling hard at 7200. i'm sure it has to do with the 5 year warranty. it's usually when you miss a shift with no limiter that you wipe out the valves. i had an all out bigbore 750 honda with yoshimura cams it would pull 13,000 if you missed a shift. replaced all of the valves twice. that ain't no fun.

the vmax has stiffer valve springs. if you over rev a venture the valves float and hit the pistons, and bend. i have my rev limit set at a safe 7200 rpm. would'nt go past that on a venture. you'll need a dyna 3000 to do that. bill

went down by the missouri river near my house today and there is no farm land under water. the road i was on had about twelve feet or more of water over it in 93. they raised the road about 15 feet last year. highway 40 over the missouri river had about 20 feet of water over it by the missouri river bridge and looked like a giant boat ramp in 93. thats when we had the big levy break in st. louis county.

thanks don, i live about a mile from the missouri river. no flooding in our area yet. but i think we will have a record flood again before to long. if it gets to me an allanh the whole country will have to flood. i'm several hundred feet above the river. the meramac river and small creeks are causing all the problems just south of us now. when this missouri gets ready to do it's thing it will be real close to home. we went through the flood of 93 big time. getting to old to volunteer to sandbag any more. my dad had a mobile home and my wife and i had to move it out twice in one month by ourselves back in the seventies. i'll probably go down by the river today,so i will keep you all posted on the missouri in our area.

i think about the big crash every time i ride, but bikes are in my blood. as long as my thinking is good and i can physically ride i will have a bike. i have had many crashes in my 50 years of riding. luckily they were not major ones. had many close calls that could have been fatal, but i can't stop doing the thing i love most , so i'm not going to worry about it. when the main man wants me i'm here for the taking and ready to go. bill:2133:
