i'm overloaded with winter projects.got my zx 14 tore down,getting some chrome done, mounting an air shifter,and building an extended swingarm.just put a v&h exaust on my v-star and getting some chrome done on it, new hardwood floor in the kitchen. and a few other odds and ends. pretty well booked up solid.

i had two cb 750's a 1970 and a 1973.they would both do about 106 mph wide open.one day i was riding on the highway and a guy on a cb 750 was coming the other way.he got into a tank slapper and the next thing i know the bike and him are going end over end on the grass on the shoulder.i got off at the next exit and luckily he was okay.darn near tore his foot off.i had to put a turnicut on it ,and some young lady in a car took him to the hospital.made a believer out of me.that was about thirty five years ago.

i kind of like hjc helmets.i always go to the dealer and try them on till i find one thats comfortable.color is secondary.dot approved is important.i have two full face helmets,and two 3/4 helmets.i wear them all depending on what bike i ride,and the weather. full helmets always on my sport bikes,and in the winter. i'm very picky about my helmets and how they fit.

i go through helmets like water.when the inside starts smelling from sweat i get a new one.my head is one of the most valuable things i have.the body won't function without it.

i had a gs 1100 suzuki drag bike built to the hilt with the best of everything, that would go into a wobble everytime it would hit 110 mph.i would'nt trust any bike past 120 mph without a good steering damper.riding faster than that without one is like a suicide run.when you find out you got a wobble it's to late.i,m shopping for one for my zx14 now just to be on the safe side.when you know your going to make a high speed run you can screw it down tight.thats one of the first up grades for a sport bike if your going to go fast safely.the three big causes of front end wobble are worn tires,loose swingarm bearings,and and misalignment between the front and rear tire.

thats the mount that i have and it workes great.make sure you bring some zip lock bags to cover the radio when it rains.

buddy ,just checked my arkansas list for bikes allowed at the meet. blue happens to be the only gold wing that will be allowed.it must be covered when parked near royalstars,and you got to keep it a secret that your with our group. :rotf::rotfl::rotf: sounds neat enjoy the heck out of it. bill

i like a wing, but my legs won't take the foot peg position very long.other wise i would love to have one.i really like my v-star 1300 better than any bike ive ever had, when it comes to egonomics, excellent handling,and a smooth fast ride.it just does everything perfect. yamaha got this one exactly right the first time around.now they need to deck it out for touring.

i saw swifty and wingman bash one off at vogel two years ago.me and la were behind them.did'nt see who won but wingman told me he hit 135 mph before he got off of it.maybe swifty can elaborate on who won.bill

when i was young i spent alot of time at 100 plus mph and would race anything that came along.now i'm old and haven't changed much.just don't do it as often,and i won't race kids.would like to be able to do 200mph on a motorcycle just one time, and turn an 8 second quarter mile.may just make it before the year is up.at least i'm working on it.

i could never be a cop .i would be in jail and have my gun taken away the first week.could'nt even carry a gun if it was legal,still would'nt make it a week.guess it's my irish temper and the fact that i have no use for derelects.snarley bill
