There were three motorcycle fatalities in Branch County/Coldwater on Sunday. A man and wife, both aged 45, were killed when an 18 year old girl allegedly distracted by a cell phone pulled in front of them a few miles north of our home. A husband and wife riding a trike struck a deer and the husband was thrown from the vehicle and killed with his wife suffering significant injuries. There was a third accident also involving a deer/motorcyclist on Sunday with the rider surviving. Southern lower Michigan has an overabundance of deer to say the least. There are few days, if any, without and accident report involving a deer/motorized vehicle collision. For those of us who ride, the presence of deer and their unpredictable movements at any time of day or night is always on our mind. Bill

3 MC's down in 3 days While coming back from Home Depot two days ago I passed by an accident scene where a kid on a 'crotch rocket' had gone down. Ambulances were on the scene. The rider looked like he was OK, but with a bandaged up right ankle and sitting on the curb. I shook my head and kept going. The next day we had a fatality involving a MC in a pile up out on Hwy 65 north.
