  1. Kbran will be bringing Brad and Lonna to my house in the morning. They have decided to bring the bike home with them so kbran has it loaded on a trailer. This was a terrible thing to have happen, especially this time of year and I thank God that they made it without being worse than it was. I hope that they will spend at least one night here and rest up before heading back to Michigan. They are top notch people in my book and I have enjoyed the company. I also had gone over looking at the bike before they left out headed to kbran's and the tires were looking good tread wise, what caused the blow out is undetermined at this point but I will look at it tomorrow when they arrive. With the weather being so cold down here they had on all the safety gear and I am sure that that helped them out to some degree! All we can do now is pray for a quick recovery for Lonna's injuries. 2. Great Looking Ride! Now all you need is a matching color radiator grill by SteveW and a lift adapter by Carbon_One and you will have all you need!......LOL.....NOT! Great photography too! Dog
  3. Ken, I got a suggestion, they look funny and are too long! Probably nannaof4 is upset for you getting them! They are too loud as you yourself have stated! And most of all they would probably look better on my bike! That being said I will shut up my friend, I hope you get the decel poping out!
  4. Wonderful news Gerald! It's great to get some good news for a change from back home! Dog
  5. As some of you know, I am dying of stage 4 leukemia. I truely believe what sweetnothing has said here. I have ridden bikes for many years and have had many close calls and a few crashes in my life. Riding my bike is my therapy, my excape from my own mortality because when I ride I forget about everything else. We all must play the hand that we are dealt but, the end result is the same. We begin to die the minute that we take our first breath and the clock starts ticking! I hate to hear about these tragedies the same as everyone else here but, I would much rather go to meet the Father doing somthing that I love to do than lying in a hospital bed drawing my last breath. As stated here, the internet has brought this family together and we now hear of these accidents where we would have probably never have know about them otherwise. We have lost many members and know of alot more involved in accidents. If you feel that riding has become more of a risk than what it is worth to you than by all means, it is time to give it up! I haven't given up my fight to beat this cancer but, I pray that when it's my time, I go out riding! Mark
  6. kbran, Nancy says I just spend way too much money on "Gunslinger". I do get away with it more because my doctor says it's good therapy!.....LOL Mark
  7. I got started in CB in the early 70's KSF-6365, yep still remember the FCC Numbers. I started with a JC Penny Pinto 23 channel Radio and a whip antenna ran through the bedroom window and tied to the back porch railing powered by an electric train transformer I had. Worked pretty good too and could talk about 10 miles or so. I joined various CB clubs and got my Dad started who spent way too much money on equipment according to my Mother! Well Dad and I are still both into it and I talk skip to him in WV from MS when the conditions are right! Of course we have moved into Sidband communication now! I don't even want to think of all the motorcycles I could have had for the money that I invested over the years in equipment myself! I still get a kick out of talking to people all over the world from my station at the house! Thanks for bringing up the Post! Dog
  8. Hey gibvel, I added the photos to the 1st reply! I hope they help you out, I really like them! Dog
  9. Hi Larry, Inflation is rising the costs of everything now a days and you should be no exception Larry. Don't feel bad about the price increase because your adapter is worth it! I use mine at least once a week. I did purchase 4 quick pins with locks to replace the bolts on the legs and boy do I like them. I bought them at a tractor supply and now I can put the legs on and remove them in no time. The pins are the same diameter and length as the bolts with a swing clamp attached to hold them in place. I will send you a photo if you like as they are only .78 a piece here and work great! Keep making your quality product my friend! As far as the price, you only have to buy it once because you will never wear it out!......LOL Thanks, Mark
  10. Yea it's getting that way around here too Gerald! I spread the word around here that I would not call the Police if I had a theft.....I would be Judge Jury and Executioner if I found out anyone messed with anything of mine around here and since moving here in 1991 I have had no problems....knock on wood!.... Here in MS you have the right to protect your property with deadly force!!!...and I will!....I have a CCW permit and always carry! Dog
  11. Damn Gerald, I hope that you don't think it was anyone on this site that was involved in your B&E! I too had a cabin near Tygart lake in WV that I had built brand new in 1982 (more of a house than a cabin) I used it for a get-a-way to have a place to hunt and fish. I got a call from the man I had purchased the land from one winter saying that it had been broken into and drove down from New Cumberland, WV to check out what had all been stolen and to do a police report. They had broken the front door and took a new $600 wood burner and about 70 foot of stainless steel double wall vent pipe that went all the way through the roof and even took the cap. When I arrived all I had left was a hole in the roof! The insurance company took care of it and also the labor to have it all replaced. I never did find out who had stolen it but, I suppose they needed it more than I did and they luckily didn't take anything else. I owned it for 9 years before selling it when I moved down south and never had any more trouble. Moral of the story: Insure the heck out of it, and let them steal all they want and hope they burn it to the ground for you......LOL Dog
  12. This is true and even the mighty Honda Interstate states the same thing in their manual. No motorcycle on the market was designed to pull a trailer. Some dealers will use it as an excuse to not cover parts such as clutch or suspension parts, anything brake related or electrical either if they think they can get away with it. I have been fortunate enough not to have any warranty work required as of yet! It all depends on the dealer! I spoke with my dealer and he stated that it would not be a problem. Dog
  13. I purchased a Harbor Freight tire changer and YES you have to remove one of the front rotors to fit the rim into the mounting tabs to do the tire change. Dog
  14. I ran a relay as described in the installation article located on this site. I placed the relay under the right side cover and powered it directly to the battery. I do not get any feed back through the speakers in any mode, Radio or CB! Just my 2 cents:2cents:. Dog
  15. Freebird, I should have let you ride mine at Vogel. If I had a Cricket I would have to find an exterminator!.....LOL. Personally I don't hear it in my bike at all. I will let Kbran ride it to see if I am somehow immune to that frequency of noise or something! Perhaps I just got a one-in-a-million bike....LOL. Dog
  16. Naw, I got a 5" for the bike! Dog
  17. Mean Dog

    I got it

Congratulations Clay, I was a Deputy in WV for 7 years and enjoyed most of it! One thing about it the academy boot camp is easier than the milatary!......LOL Dog
  18. Herman, Here is a photo of the J&M bags installed on my bike. The mounting tab is too short to mount between the windshield and the fairing for support. The back of the so called leather looked like a cheap card board from the front of the windshield so I painted the lower part of the inside of the shield with Walmart fusion black paint, used industrial strength Velcro 1 1/4 in. and secured it to the windshield with the Velcro. It looks pretty cheap but, I bought the bags for $18 and they do serve the purpose. Here is a photo of what they look like on the bike! Dog
  19. When I thought about buying a new TV I spoke with a repair man in my area that I have known for years. He told me that the life expectancy of the new LCD and Plasma's are about 5 years. I guess I will stick with my 46" Picture tube RCA Theater model I bought new in 1991 and still has a beautiful picture on it!..................LOL Dog
  20. I bought my MRSV new in May of 06. I did hear a whine in the transmission from day One! I never heard the chirp or George Jetson car noise that everyone complains about. I dumped the oil at 500 miles and put in Shell Rotella Synthetic at that time. It did help the wine but, it is still there and I have gotten used to it. All my Harleys made noise too but the pipes covered most of it. When I had my Ultra with the fairing and lowers the cam chain noise was really bad and resonated off of them back to the rider. I now have 14,000 miles on my MRSV and it sounds the same. I have followed the posts on the I-basket change but, never felt as though this was the real problem, in my case anyway. Pulling in the clutch while riding takes pressure off the gears in the transmission and the whine does quiet down to a degree. Thanks for all your research Kit! One more thing! I used to drive a 61 Vette with a 327 cu. in. with a 671 Blower with 2/4 bbls. so I know what whine means!..........HORSE POWER! Dog
  21. Lewis, I will try my best to be there. Have you come up with a meeting place before going to the hospital? And what time would we be meeting? By the way I would be coming from Carthage, MS. Mark
  22. I also have State Farm for my home and cars. when I went to them to insure the 06 Venture they were asking $1200 a year and I am over 50 years of age. They did not have a motorcycle division and my agent recommened that I contact Geico. I got double the State minimum coverage, roadside assistance, $250 ded. and it is $279 a year!..... Dog
  23. Don, I am so sorry to hear about this happening to you. I don't know what the individual's situation was that wrote you the check but, I think that you should go to accepting only money orders or certified bank checks as you know that both those options would be good! This site and the members within have really helped me through some tough times and like you, I can't imagine that anyone would have done this to you on purpose. I know that I personally have not been able to support this site as I wish I could but once I am on my feet again I will. I too do not have or participate in Pay-Pal so I hope that a postal money order or certified bank check would be in order. Mark
  24. Kenny, That is great news! I know she has been waiting for the repair. She will heal soon and be riding again in no time. Tell her that Nancy and I are thinking of her and wish her the best. Mark
  25. Oh Boy! 4 qts won't fit in my bike without being overfilled! That is a :no-no-no:! Dog
