  1. Sorry to hear about your friend Ron. This is happening way too often! Dog
  2. Larry, You designed and created a quality product for a fair price my friend. Even though I had built one from your earlier design and it worked perfectly, I decided to purchase the free standing model from you. Why? Being out of work for 19 months while healing both arms and having a steel rod placed in my neck due to an accident I know what you were going through. Even now being out because of my Cancer it is sometimes hard to manage. Now that I had the chance to meet you at Vogel I am even more pleased that I did. I was so upset about you and Joyce's accident at Vogel but, glad that you both came through it as you did. I wish I could have done more for you my friend. I hope your surgery was successful! http://www.clicksmilies.com/s1106/ernaehrung/food-smiley-010.gif Mark
  3. Jim, So sorry to hear about your injuries! That one is gonna take a while to heal I believe. I am originally from WV and I know how things seem to happen up there. Good luck and a speedy recovery my friend! Mark
  4. If all else fails try lighter fluid.
  5. Ok folks I need some help here. What type of program you are using to design your ideas for these patches. I have to come up with a chapter patch for the Central Mississippi chapter #114 of the SCRC and I have no idea how to go about it or what program to use! I know this is probably not the place to ask for this advice but I see how great you all do on the venture patches. I have taken over the 1st officer position for this chapter and I am lost for a design. thanks, Mark
  6. James, So Sorry to hear about Jake's accident but glad it wasn't worse than it was! From what you say it sounds as though they will be ok in time and I pray that they have a speedy recovery. Mark
  7. Personally I don't run a swivel on my trailer. I did a lay down test were I laid the bike all the way over onto the foot boards and motor guards, still had room on the ball for it to go further. Of course if by some chance I were to get it completely horizontal I wouldn't be worried about the hitch anyway! Dog
  8. Yes to all that was said here by pegscraper! Ditch the Fram filter and I use Synthetic Shell Rotella 5W-40 (Blue Jug) from Wallmart and the ST7317 filter as well. Dog
  9. The only problem I see with installing lights would be the wiring and the quick disconnects needed. I remove my bags constantly to clean the bike, access the rear axle oil maint and such. They have battery operated stick on lights that would serve the purpose but, I think I will just stick to my trusty flash light! http://www.clicksmilies.com/s1106/verkleidung/costumed-smiley-043.gif Dog
  10. Hey Chuck, So glad to hear that you were not hurt too badly! I don't know what has gotten into folks lately or did they put a bounty out on Ventures? They say that the bike can always be replaced but, in your case and others, those 1st Gens are getting hard to come by! http://www.freewebby.com/action-smilies/nos.gif Dog
  11. Glad you are back Roy, you started to worry me! Dog
  12. You and Kbran must be related....LOL. that is the way his tire looked while we were in Vogel!. I sure am happy for you that it did not blow out. Sometimes the Lord is our copilot James. Be careful out there brother. Mark
  13. ediddy, It will depend on which tail light system your friend has on his trailer! If it has separate turn signals then you will need the 5 wire flat and no converter. If it uses the brake lights as turn signals you will need the converter. I see you have not bought you a trailer as of yet so you will have to wire to his trailer needs. Why did your friend add the 5th wire and what is it used for? These are the questions you will need to know before wiring your bike to it. My first trailer was a 4 wire and I needed a converter and now the trailer I have is a 5 wire and I just hot wired behind the license plate since it has separate amber turn signals just like the bike! Dog
  14. Just make sure that you have scrapped the paint away from the spot that you grounded to on the trailer! You can always paint over it once it is grounded to the frame properly and (White) should be your ground! Dog
  15. Larry, Before going to Vogel I had some Harley friends riding to Branson, MO. and a couple of dogs were chasing a goat across Interstate 55 north here in Mississippi. There were 5 bikes in the group and the rear bike was pulling a trailer. When everyone hit their brakes for the animals the bike with the trailer ridden by my friend Steve and his wife locked up only his back brake, the trailer pushed the bike sideways into the rear floor board of my other friends bike, luckily his wife had her feet on higher pegs and did not get hurt. Steve's bike low sided to the right and then flipped over onto the left side as yours did. Steve suffered broken ribs and a punctured lung and his wife has head trauma and doesn't remember the accident or a week later and yes they spent over a week in Memphis hospital. His Harley Ultra is in a lot worse shape than your Venture is in. I went over there tonight to help them strip it down and there is a lot of unseen damage before the dismantle. He says he wants to sell his trailer now once it is repaired and won't tow another one again. I tow and told him that you just have to allow for extra reaction times when doing so. I have towed over 400 lbs in mine with no problems at all. We are praying for your family as well as his and hope you all a speedy recovery my friend! Best of luck to you! Sincerely, Mean Dog
  16. Hi Juggler, Yea I did that! I used my stock MUSIC folder and copied all the music that I wanted to put on the I-Pod Nano. I made sure the total was under 4 gig and it missed copying many of the songs I had in there and skipped many of them. For instance I had 20 ZZ Top songs and it only copied 5 of the 20. What's up with that? After sync it shows I have 630 meg free on the I-Pod. I must be doing something wrong! Dog
  17. Ok I need to know how to do this as I have about 128 gig of music on my computer. I did get it to load some with the program I-Tunes but, they aren't in order and skipped a lot of the ones I wanted. I suppose I need some other program that will let ME pick what MP3's I want on it! I hate new technology! Dog
  18. Thanks Don, As usual you come to the rescue again! Mark
  19. Well that puts me outa luck because we didn't get the CD with it! Just the I-Pod and USB cable. We found the 1/8" jack cable here around the house to connect to the radio. I sure would like a copy of the CD if someone has one available or could burn me one? Dog
  20. Thanks for the link Jon, I bought one of these and too late for me on the coupon but good information though. Dog
  21. My Son just gave me one of these things and I don't know much about it at all. I am not sure if it is a G2 or what but it holds 4gig of Music. I have a short 3' cable to hook into the radio and I tried it and it does work. I like your Idea of mounting it to the bars that way. Could you tell me how to load music on this thing as I sure don't like his type of music. I have mp3's on the computer I would like to load up but don't know how and neither does he since he bought it used. I do have the USB cable for it too! Dog
  22. Well, the trip went fine and poor Kbran paid the ultimate price. The poor man worked 11 hours on my bike today in 108 degree temperature to get it ready for the trip to Ga. this coming week. He put on new Flander's bars and hoses and cables, Installed the original grips and weights on the bars, Changed out the tires and balanced them for me, put on new rear brakes even though at 11,200 miles they didn't need them. We checked the front brakes and they still have many miles left on them. So I am ready to go! Thanks again, Mark
  23. Thanks for the quick replies guys! I found a blown fuse in the turn signal circuit. I can't believe that it runs the dash, turn, brake, and all but a 15 amp fuse does it all. I checked the trailer for shorts and with a small battery charger and the running lights are pulling 3.5 amp the turn signals are pulling 2 amps each and the stop lamps are pulling about 4 amps. No shorts in it. So when I hit the brake light on just the bike ......blown fuse again! So it has to be shorted in the bike where I tied in behind the license plate. I'll be fixing that tonight and leaving in the morning for Louisiana. Guess it will be a long night though! Anyway guys thanks again and I really appreciate your help! Dog :fingers crossed::fingers crossed:
  24. I was getting the trailer wired today to go to Kbrans in the morning. I hot wired it to under the license plate because I have separate turn signals on the trailer. When I checked it with the trailer connected everything worked fine. I disconnected the trailer to get the bike out out the shed that I park in and now I have only a head light, dash lights, radio and the bike will start and run. I have no speedometer, odometer, fuel gauge, turn signals, 4 ways or brake lights........what is up with this? I turned the ignition on and off several times with no change in the condition. Mind you I don't even have the trailer hooked to the bike! I can't believe that it is a fuse problem because it is effecting too many circuits. Nee help quick! Mark
