No thanks ... I prefer to have my Morning Coffee in peace and quiet.

Stock Location is not the best because it's more out to the Elements and the new R/R is has a larger Footprint, but is more flat than the stock Unit. The Reason why they choose to mount it there because the standard R/R will get hot and needs to be vented, the new one won't get hot, so no need for intense Vent.

Since the whole PCB, where the Coils and the Reed Contacts are, is wired for hot Side Operation, i think this would be not a nice Solution. If it would be that easy, you sure would find a Write-Up about the Mod in our Library. There are some Guys who know how to handle a Soldering Iron and Relays. Doable ? Probably, but not for the average Member here Smart ? No -

There are Coil inside the Computer through which the Current to the Head Light goes. By doing so the Coils actuate a Reed Contact which tells the Computer there's enough Current going thorugh the Coil, so the Light should be on. Not enough Current, no reed Contact Action. Hooking the Power Side of the Relay to the Computer doesn't help too much, because the Computer would be the weak Link in the Circuit. -

Adding two Relays and a serious Power Supply Wire is the easy Part. But you nee to fake the Computer, take the whole Light controlling Circuit out or live with the Warning Light. -
Ok, that's an Argument. You gotme. I'll rest my Case !!:crackup: Sorry, Gibvel, just hotlinked a Pic from Wikimedia ...

Help! questions about carb
Squeeze replied to sbrilla11's topic in Venture and Venture Royale Tech Talk ('83 - '93)
Those Hoses which run from the Intake Manifold are normally plugged with rubber Plugs, you'll need tose Port to synch the Carbs. Don't know what Purpose they should serve in your Ride, but if they connect "front" to "rear" Carbs, that's a "Jason Mod" which is a doubtful Help. You could leave it that Way or plug it up, what ever floats your Boat. btw .. nice Tractor !! :happy34: -

Those upper Ports are Vent Hose Connectors. When i see your Application, I'd put Hoses on them and lead them somewhere below the Motor. -
Very cool Artwork. I like it very much. I wish i could be there.

If you want to tame the Beast, go for the Supertrapps ... They'll cost you between 8 and 15 hp, depending on how Much Spcers you'll use. Ok, the Sound may be good for some Folks, but they're very poor power wise. If you want another Exhaust, allways look out for a System with an Collector, any Slip-On System loose Power.

Extra cubes?
Squeeze replied to a1bummer's topic in Venture and Venture Royale Tech Talk ('83 - '93)
Well, that's very interesting Info right there... I'm very sorry to hear that i provide false Information. Please accept my Apologies. I allways was in believe the MKI Rotors being 267mm Diameter. If these are 298mm, i might have a new and very fine Solution for upgrading the Brakes on the MK I. Could somebody provide Measurements and Pics from the Rotors and the Brake Calipers of a MK I ?? Pics should be taken from a nearly exact right Angle and of Course, without any Covers. I need a clear View to the Rotor Diameter and the Caliper Mounting Bolts in Relation to the Fork Leg.
