  1. aahaaaaa... I do see that now ... well what can I say, it's was still morning and I hadn't woken up .... but it's just after noon now and at least one eye is functioning at about 90% I do agree about the interchangeable tips but for the amount I use them (like maybe a couple times a year if that) ... that's all I need.
  2. Those listed seem to work opposite of what seems to me they should. IMO, when you squeeze the handles together, the plier should open whereas those listed appear that you have to pull the handle apart to release/open the snap-ring. In other words, those listed appear to work the same way a normal plier would work, squeeze the grip to tighten/close the plier. The kind I have, which are the ones that have interchangeable tips, work as I mentioned. (or am I seeing things wrong?)
  3. Exactly what I pointed out earlier in the thread. Consider this scenario.... You're somewhere back in a string of traffic, looking for a passing opportunity. There's a car coming towards you but still a ways down the road... it has it's lights on (as most do) but one of them is not working. Will you see that car sooner (when you poke out to see if any traffic is approaching) if it's Right headlight is NOT working or when it's Left headlight is NOT working?? The answer of course is when it's RIGHT headlight IS working and thus the reason to ride in the right lane if you're the oncoming vehicle. (now don't go getting yourself all twisted around between which is right and which is left on the oncoming vehicle's headlights LOL)
  4. Lutz, you're like a cat my friend... you just sit on the fence lookin for an opportunity to POUNCE on ME!! :rasberry: but that's OK ... we have FUN!
  5. Gary, can you be a bit more specific? Damaging what... the cable or the finger? What straightens right back out... the cable or the finger? (yes I know... there's one in every crowd...)

  8. While you're in there changing the basket, you might want to consider skydoc_17's spring upgrade kit. I have appx 34,000 kilometers on my '06 and I noticed the clutch slipping on a high-rev powershift from 3rd to 4th the other day. The fix (his kit) is enroute to me now. http://www.venturerider.org/classifieds/showproduct.php?product=2905&title=second-genheavy-duty-clutch-spring26amp-3b-full-disc-upgrade-kit-21&cat=22

  16. My son & his buddy both bought new Harley's in 2003. Son bought a 1200 Sportster and his buddy bought a Road King. His buddy also added appx 10 grand worth of bling. Since then, he's ridden it maybe 5,000 kilometers. It sits in his living room as an ornament mostly. LOL
  17. heh... this kinda hit me funny... if the brake uses brake fluid, why doesn't the clutch use clutch fluid..? that being said, both are hydraulic systems so why don't we just call it hydraulic fluid..?
  18. If the way mine shifts now is considered "hard shifting", I guess it will be an automatic if it can get better.... (must be another one of those "quirks" like the whine that not all RSV's have)
  19. Interesting writeup...thanks. Very hard to compare 2 bikes that are 22 years apart, regardless of brand especially when one of them is brand new.
  20. DITTO I've installed IE9 and haven't encountered any issues with any web sites.

  24. Here's their email to me... (I've since emailed them back asking for clarification of "Front") You can use bulk, high temperature automotive fiberglass but will get longer assurance period if a non-flammable wrap is used first (like the omnisil, which is a high temperature, ceramic fabric or a tightly wrapped spun steel wool mesh.) Remove the mufflers from the bike. Remove all screws. Front transition (nose pieces) must be removed first. They were initially assembled using high temperature silicone so you may have to soften the bond using a heat gun. Pull the baffle out the front end of the muffler. Depending on length of time these mufflers were run you may need a penetrant to loosen the baked on carbon deposits. Wrap the baffles TIGHTLY with the new materials, tucking the ends under the flanges. Use masking tape to finish wrap (this will burn off). The wrap must be tight enough to allow reinsertion into the muffler body. Reinstall the front transition. Reinstall all screws. An awl is helpful to align the baffle mounting holes with the shell holes.
  25. Is it possible that the hiss is coming from the mic or the mic bar? I know mine seems to ... like it's picking up the wind.
