It's a "carbon fibre" tape kit I bought at Canadian Tire. First you paint the area whatever color you want to show thru (I chose silver) and then lay the carbon fibre tape over top. I then edged it with chrome accent trim tape.

For some reason I think my posts are invisible...

I know there's a few other threads on this but figgured I'd start a new one to get some feedback on what ya'll may have done with your Choke Knob... Here's what I did... Got a "plain jane" drawer knob made of aluminum, cut the threaded extension off and JB welded it to my choke knob. Whatcha'll think and whatcha'll done if'n ya done it???

I dunno why I came in here to read all this CRAP about HAIR .... guess I felt the need to punish myself once again...

Is it possible you weren't using the right technique as if you were, you should only be using your legs ...

Rick, don't even think it.... it paints a nasty pic !!! :sign20:
-
BRIAN.... BRIAN... BRIAN .... whatever are you THINKING??? :rotf: :rotf:

I'd agree with that and it's something I never thought of but will "try to" put into practise as quite often my wife forgets and has her foot too far forward, causing me to bump it with the back of my leg or the heel of my boot when I go to put my foot down...which almost causes me to loose balance sometimes. Dang... ya lern 'n lern effery day here!!!

Noob ... doesn't yet know they fold down....
-
Ya, that puzzled me too .... ummmm geez, I wonder if they're in behind the box liner.... I gotta check that out. I lied a bit tho on prev post as now that I think about it, my 1986 Mazda and my 1989 Toyota had some kinda tie-downs if I recall .... but none of my "american" made trucks did.
-
I agree... but what things in the side of the bed are you talking about?? None of the trucks I've owned have had them, not even my recently purchased 2005 Silverado ... which I thought would have.

Our lawn is so saturated with water it just "squishes" when I walk on it. The farmer's fields have turned into lakes of sloppy mud. Looks like we might be in for a bit of a break by the weekend tho (fingers crossed).

Just remember you don't have REVERSE! LOL

You don't have to remove much of anything except the handlebars Remove the bolts Slide riser in from the right Insert bolts and get the started but leave some slack Slide left riser in Put a bit of blue thread lock on the bolts and tighten everything down Jamb the rubber spacers back in upside-down and I think I put them on opposite sides You slide the risers in from the side. The rubber piece can be reinserted upside-down although others have made adapters for them. I don't think the ones you posted the links for will work on an RSV. The cables don't have to be changed although you may find them to be a bit tight.

I'm envious!! now where are those PICS???
-
Those risers make all the difference!

Those were the Khromewerks ... not the Rolling Thunder ones I believe.

Here's a link to some sound clips... http://www.venturers.org/Tech_Library/index.php?action=article&cat_id=002009&id=285 Funny thing... I actually prefer the stock mufflers as now that I'm getting "older", I prefer more quiet... but my wife ... dang, she like the NOISE
-
You can get different tips for them.
-
Tried the RK's ... even drilled them out. Now running Khromewerks. I prefer them over the RK's. I've listened to most of the others via an on-line bunch of sound clips ... prefer the Khromewerks. They have a nice tone but are definately louder than drilled out RK's. Haven't had them on long enuf yet to determine how I'll like them on a longer trip but initially, I'm thinking I may have to put the stockers back on for that ... we'll see.

Why are we required to fill in the "Name" field in our Profile now?

My "other" name is Anon Ymous ... you're welcome to use it too... -
The truth to that fictitious mis-belief is .... I just recently installed a set of Khromewerks mufflers that I got off another member who'd had them for several years and repacked once. These muffs are louder than the drilled out RK's but have a much nicer "tone" IMO .... I can still hear the whine ... (and she ain't even on the bike!!!)
