1. is it your fault or is it kevin-vic-b.c's fault... or BOTH OF YOU!
2. Seizures? wow... of all the research I've done, I've not seen that come up. I had a Chihuahua (sp?) cross Terrier years ago and around age 8 she started having seizures. Something to do with her blood cells... was like Lukemia but associated to the other cells (can't recall if it was the white or red ones)... anyway, there was no cure other than blood transfusions which only lasted a short while and eventually wouldn't be enough. We had to have her put down. It was very sad. I did read about the snoring; however, I believe this is more predominant in a pure-bred that has the shorter snout and under-bite. This particular dog appears to have some mix in him as he has a longer snout. Anyway, nothing but NOTHING can drown out Nina's snoring .... :rotf:

Bear

DITTO !!! People doing such idiotic things are only making the situation worse and endangering themselves and others. I've seen enuf bears in my life ... I just keep on driving doesn't matter if I'm on the scoot on in a cage. However, for those who haven't seen a bear up close, STAY IN YOUR CAGE and DO NOT FEED THE BEARS. If you don't, you just may wind up getting "close and personal" and you don't want to do that with a bear...period!
4. Folks, let's not start a "for / against" war going here. This thread is for suggestions for me on different ways to take a small dog on a motorcycle, not a debate on "should you or shouldn't you". Thanks
5. Can't. Nina is allergic to cats and dogs that shed. This is why we are getting this kind of dog.
6. hmmmmm... I did a google search for "how to carry a small dog on a motorcycle" and came up with quite a bit of info, not to mention available products.
7. Dang, I just remembered... our stuffed toy bulldog dressed like a biker rides on the rack on the trunk .... he gets ZAP STRAPPED on!
8. Keep that white stuff over there buddy!!! We're supposed to get some tonight but we were supposed to get some last night too .... nothing yet!!!
9. If you decide to stop on the side of the road to take in the scenery, etc... don't do it on a corner. Stop somewhere where the approaching traffic has a good clear view of you from a good distance away. (unless of course there's a pull-off)
10. Good point and tip there Barry!! Speaking of tunnels ... ALWAYS BLAST YOUR HORN SEVERAL TIMES while inside the tunnel. (just coz it's fun!)
11. Speaking of corners, slow down BEFORE you get to the corner and as you start going into it, then apply some throttle to power through it. NEVER brake while in the corner if you can help it. And on that note, don't try to follow the other guy if you don't feel totally comfortable blasting through a corner at HIS SPEED. And forget about the jerk behind you! Drive at your own comfort level. Set up your approach on the outside of your lane and take the corner on the inside, following through to the outside as you leave the corner .... this cuts down the angle. In a corner, stay out of the centre of the lane where all the oil slick might be.
12. Dave brought up an good point, or at least eluded to it. When riding the mountains, you can go from warm to cold real quick so plan ahead for that and wear your gear. Corners can be deceiving. Generally you can do 10 over the posted "slow to" limit easilly but there's the odd case where you can't. ALWAYS be aware of the surroundings. for instance, if you're approaching a right-hand corner that is banked by a rocky hill, EXPECT to encounter gravel or rocks, even if you don't ... just be on the lookout for them. When approaching the crest of a hill, EXPECT that there might be someone passing someone else and IN YOUR LANE ...
13. Interesting ... most of my riding is or has been done in the mountains. I guess I do most things so "naturally", I'd have to think about it in order to articulate. First thing that comes to mind is use a lower gear when going up or down. Lower of course if appropriate to what gear you're in at the time. Using the lower gear going up prevents you from lugging and loosing power when you need it. Going down it helps for braking. I'll think of more I'm sure.
14. ya, I know the feeling ...
15. :sign20:
16. Not a good idea as I wouldn't want to deprive the pygmie of any enjoyment ...
17. I dunno Dave.... me with pink goggles and a pink helmet with "anna" on the front..... nahhhh ... just not my style at all...
18. That's actually funny as they never served soup at all. Steak, potatoes, veggies, salad, desserts, etc for lunch was sure good tho .... but dang, I really would have preferred a simple bowl of chicken noodle soup (Campbell's of course) ...
19. Nope... never sold the bike... never posted that I did ..... did I?
20. Nina & I are considering getting a small dog. Looking for ideas & pics if possible on how to set things up so the dog can ride on the bike with us. The dog we're considering will be less than 15 lbs when full grown. It's a Shih-tzu cross. Also, anyone with this breed of dog, can you shed any light on problems, issues, temperament, etc. They seem to be very popular. Here's a pic of the one we're hoping to get...
21. We spent an entire day on set. We shot several different scenes and probably put in about 3-4 hours total shooting time. It was a lot of fun! Not only did we get paid good but being on set all day, we got fed real good too ... it was a pretty major production with lots of crew and equipment .... quite exciting for me as I'd never been around anything like that. Nina on the other hand, has worked in theater productions quite a bit as actress, singer, and stage work.
22. That's a good point ... turn the handlebars all the way to the right or left and see if it helps.
23. I haven't had these things apart all that often but I do recall that when I did, they can sometimes be a bit "tricky" to get back on. I've found that using a needle nose pliers helps.
24. I'm replying just so you know that you're not being ignored. I don't know why you can't get them back in after increasing the slack... you got them out, they should go back in. Someone will respond eventually...
25. Some say there are 2 plugs in the RK's yet mine had 3 .... one near each end and another somewhere in the middle. Once I drilled all 3 out, what did I have left? .... basically a "straight pipe" or as you put it, a hollow chome tube. (I'm just sayin....)
