1. yes, you'd better correct yourself when addressing me ... after all, I AM the SOUPer Star .... :rotf:
2. Some folks have their NOSE in the air .... in your case ..... "he goes around with his arse raised..."
3. You get all that you need. Here is the info at J&M http://www.jmcorp.com/ProductDetail.asp?ProductID=HS-8154B-OF&PF=12
4. I have the same set. They work fairly well but I do find that the mic picks up some wind noise. I got mine direct from J&M ... think I paid just under $100 about a year ago so that price on wingstuff is a real deal!!
5. Before long you'll be able to do it with your eyes closed..... like me! Seeing as you raised the Q on the zipper, .................. I'll take the first one off your production line...
6. Now that brings to mind another idea .... grab the wife's turkey baster, attach a rubber hose of appropriate size/length to the end and stuff it down the oil filler hole and suction out the excess oil. When done, wash turkey baster in good dish soap mixture, rinse thoroughly and put it back where you got it, taking extra care in placing it in EXACTLY the same spot & direction...
7. :sign yeah that:
8. Ya ... you changed your copy but I got the original ...
9. Dang.... good deal!!!
10. hip WAITERS .... ??? :rotf:
11. When I die, I hope I am doing what I enjoy most. If death could be avoided, we'd live forever .... (maybe we do ... as another being???)
12. I've been on this site for around 5 years and have gleaned a lot of info from a lot of the folks on here. Whenever I can, I try and give back, even if sometimes I'm not entirely accurate or occasionally incorrect. Someone always comes along and corrects or clarifies and I learn. I'm always learning on here. Goose is a walking book of knowledge IMHO, as many others on here are. I very much respect them and always enjoy reading what they have to say. Once again, Goose's clarification has enhanced my knowledge.
13. While it is a well-known fact that cages making a left turn in front of a motorcyclist are the number one cause of biker deaths, there are at least a couple reason's for this that I believe we, as bikers, need to keep at the forefront of our minds when approaching an intersection or when out on the highway with on-coming traffic and a roadway off to the right. Firstly, many cage drivers are unable to judge speed or distance of oncoming vehicles very well and this is at the very least doubled when it is a motorcycle. Secondly, many motorcycles have lighting that is either inadequate or is such that it blinds an oncoming driver and in so doing, makes it even more difficult for that diver to judge the bikes speed or distance. If we, as bikers, keep these 2 things at the forefront of our minds and take some evasive action such as slowing down a bit or flipping our headlights from low to high and back to low a few times (headlight modulator maybe?), it might just save one person's life. Personally, I am always very watchful for that left-hand turner when approaching an intersection ... it is probably the most scariest part of any ride for me. Unfortunately, not all bike riders pay enough attention to this highly dangerous zone. So having said all that, we can't always place blame on the cage driver. After all, we have riders like this guy on our roads .... [ame=http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=XihQeZpwqpE]YouTube - Black Devil - Moscow Ride on R1[/ame]
14. From what I understand, if you put the "recommended" amount of oil in, it will fill the sight glass. I just changed my oil and filter yesterday and put 3 litres of new oil in. Ran the bike for a few minutes afterward and allowed the oil to "settle" .... it was at exactly the 1/2 way mark on the sight glass. I don't see a need to add more. As for removing/draining/replacing the filter, if your sight glass is full, I don't think the filter alone will drop it down to "our recommended level" .... maybe have to do it a couple times... unless you want to use the drain plug method which could get a bit messy. BTW... I notice your posting shows you as having a '96 RSVS Midnight Venture .... is that a typeo??
15. I think it's behind the left lower somewhere.
16. Spin your filter off and drain it... then put it back on. That will "draw off" some oil.
17. Check your oil level. If it is higher that 3/4 up the sight glass, it's too full and you might be venting excess oil .... (I'm guessing but I believe this was an issue with the 1st gen's) FYI... I never run my oil level highr than appx 2/3 on the glass.
18. Here's how I did mine... http://venturerider.org/forum/showthread.php?t=41530&highlight=stebel
19. Unless I'm mistaken, this applies to pretty much every scoot. Even a 1st gen
20. I don't get acid reflux often ... maybe once a week at most. I also use Maalox ... been using it for years. One thing I learned a while back is to sleep laying on your left side. Apparently it forces the valve that is supposed to prevent the reflux to close properly whereas laying on your right side causes it to open. (something like that) I also use GasX for lower abdomen gas .... can't eat onions as that gives me some terrible pain and bloating.
21. The weather around here has been "not bad" but the weatherman needs to get his priorities re-aligned.... we're supposed to have the nice weather on the WEEKEND, not during the week!!! For some reason he keeps making it RAIN on the weekend. ggrrrrrrrrrrrrrr!!!
22. :rotf: :rotf: Love it!!!
23. Sorry Don .... no improvements ... you're still here..... All kidding aside, it appears the site is working well ... thanks!
24. Very good camera work! Glad the guy wasn't hurt bad (at least it didn't appear so) but as soon as he came upon that wet area I could see it coming... (very common for black ice).
25. Beer just makes me tired and I know I can't drive while I'm asleep!
