  1. Someone said this a while back in a post. Correct. Stirring the pot or not, I believe many folks "down south" have this misconception that us Canucks have free health care. WE DON'T ... in fact, we pay dearly for what we have through our taxes. We also, at least here in British Columbia, MUST pay a monthly premium...($108.00 for my wife and I) and, on top of that, many medical services are not fully covered and lots are not covered at all. Thankfully Nina and I work for companies who include extended medical benefits as part of their remuneration package otherwise I can tell you I sure wouldn't have a relatively new motorcycle to ride nor a fairly new truck to drive today. I will admit to ignorance tho as I really have no idea what kind of medical coverage folks in the USA do have....??? Perhaps ya'll can chime in on this and enlighten me and others as at least for myself, I would really like to know.
  2. uhhhhhhhhh .... I can't recall as I have... :rotf:
  3. This whole thread has become an erectile dysfunction
  4. When you're ready to give your scoot away..... I'll take it! :rotf:

  6. uhhhhhhhhh.... seems to me I hear that one before.... http://www.venturerider.org/forum/showthread.php?t=56176 but yours is funnier :sign20:
  7. I'll give that a test ... I've not heard of this one before but have worked with a few different but similar such programs over the years. I still use a program I originally bought when I was "in the business" for cleaning Win98 Registry, etc... called Fix-it Utilities. The company got bought out after a few years and I lost track of what became of newer versions but interestingly enough, my old version still works, even on Windows 7.
  8. Just be careful with it as you can wind up removing stuff you actually need so don't expect ccleaner to "think" for you. It will make assumptions... you have to review and decide. Generally tho, it will tell you what is safe to clean and what is questionable, etc.
  9. Yes, those "free downloads" can be deceiving ... free to download, free to try, but if you want it to do anything, ...... pay up!
  10. here... [ame=http://download.cnet.com/ccleaner/]CCleaner - Free software downloads and software reviews - CNET Download.com[/ame]
  11. Use a longer ratchet or something for better leverage. They can be hard to "crack". Put a little force to the ratchet or bar and then give it a whack on the end with a hammer. Beforehand, spray some WD40 around the thread area and let it sit for a while. These are things I would do.
  12. I also use the Lucas 80-90 ... don't change it quite that often but usually well before the req'd intervals...which I've forgotten off hand.
  13. "Rearend Oil " Dang the headings on some of these posts!!! I thought this was going to be interesting ....
  14. Contrary to what other's say about D404's ... my stock tires (D404) got really good mileage ... well, at least the rear one did. That being said, I really didn't like them much. I'm currently running the S11's and although I haven't put a lot of miles on them yet, (one summer) I am happy with them. The primary reason for that is that for the price, they seem to be pretty good. I do a lot of riding in the "mountains" so get a good feel for their performance on twisties and some of the highways in this province are pretty crappy in places. We pulled a trailer for 2 weeks last year all the way out to Alberta and back ... a lot of variance in roads as well as a fair amount of rain .... I have no complaints and no concerns about the tires. Here's some reviews you can check out.... http://motorcycletirereviews.com/10-1-spitfireS11.html
  15. :thumbsup2: :rotf: now that is FUNNY!
  16. regardless, she'll still have the LAST WORD!
  17. Actually, I lied (a bit). I just finished mounting and hard-wiring my GPS so I got the fairing split (again). Will be ordering a Clearview w/s next month. 2 weeks ago I made and installed the levelling links. Last weekend I finished "jazzing up" my air cleaners. Took the dremel sander to the rest of the "fake fins" edges so they are all shiny against the black now. Cleaning and polishing never ends. Plan on installing aftermarket fuel filter. Plan on hooking up an MP3 player if I can't get the Sirius working (won't happen until mid April when my subscription resumes) Got chrome brake/clutch reservoir covers coming. May be ordering saddle bag rails in near future. I'm sure there will be more "bling" going on before summer.
  18. somehow I knew this thread would come to this...
  19. For all my grammatically correct friends. On his 74th birthday, a man got a gift certificate from his wife. The certificate paid for a visit to a medicine man living on anearby reservation who was rumored to have a wonderful curefor erectile dysfunction. After being persuaded, he drove to the reservation, handed his ticket to the medicine man, and wondered what he was in for. The old man handed a potion to him, and with a grip on his shoulder, warned,'This is a powerful medicine. You take only a teaspoonful, and then say'1-2-3.' When you do, you will become more manly than you have ever been inyour life, and you can perform as long as you want." The man was encouraged. As he walked away, he turned and asked,"How do I stop the medicine from working?" "Your partner must say '1-2-3-4,'" he responded, "but when she does, the medicine will not work again until the nextfull moon." He was very eager to see if it worked so he went home, showered, shaved, took a spoonful of the medicine, and then invited his wife to join himin the bedroom. When she came in, he took off his clothes and said, "1-2-3!"Immediately, he was the manliest of men. His wife was excited and began throwing off her clothes, and then she asked, "What was the 1-2-3 for?" And that, boys and girls, is why we should never end our sentences with a preposition, because we could end up with a dangling participle.
  20. So long I can't remember....
  21. Here's one for ya'll .... If you appear in a Campbell's Soup commercial .... are you then a SOUPer Star? :rotf:
  22. A little "trick" I learned from a tow truck driver when my Dakota's filter got clogged up and the truck wouldn't start.... take a hammer or block of wood or some kinda object and bang the bottom of the gas tank a few times. It dislodges some of the crap in the filter and at least allows ya to drive for a while. Also on the Dakota, most shops want to replace the whole assembly but it's not necessary if you can find a guy who will take it apart and replace the filter component only. The second time mine went "bad", I found a guy who would do this and it cost me half the normal price and I never had a problem with it after that.
  23. Dumba$$ idea that is coz in many cases you hafta pull the tank and replace the whole pump and filter assembly when all that is wrong is the filter is plugged. That was a $700 bill on my old '94 Dakota!
  24. I remember following those threads. Seems to me it was a very similar product. Unfortunately we can't rely on Kit Carson anymore. I wonder what became of him once he got his Wing and left us.
