1. have a great trip!
2. IF ... there ever is a "next bike" for me, it's really too difficult to say for sure at this time what it will be because ... I don't see it happening for a few years and who knows what will be available at that time. On the other hand, if it were to happen tomorrow, I'd have to say it would be a Victory Cross-Country with all the extra's. I'd previously thought I'd go to a Wing but to be honest, while I do like the ride and handling, it still doesn't "look" like a conventional motorcycle to me.
3. What causes the most accidents on our streets? NOT CELL PHONES NOT THE RADIO NOT THE GPS MONITOR NOT TALKING NOT TEXTING NOT WATCHING A CAR VIDEO NOT CHANGING CDs THE MOST FREQUENT CAUSES OF ACCIDENTS ARE: Yup, you guessed it! Inappropriate footwear!
4. My phone also plays music and can hold quite a lot but the music interface is a PITA to use.
5. Thanks for all the suggestions guyz ... not sure which I'll get yet but ya'll have answered my Q's for the most part. For those with an XM or Sirius radio, I do like them but I've found the hardware not too reliable. I had an XM set and it bombed after about a year. Now I have a Sirius Stratus 5 and it's just over a year and I keep getting "antenna not found" ... apparently this is a real issue with these. Considering the cost of the unit and the price for the service, I'm thinking it's really not worth it ... and an MP3 player would be better.
6. And that's at what time of day..... 3AM??? LOL
7. Can it be plugged into the aux jack on the scoot?
8. I already have a Nuvi 255w so not planning on buying another.
9. I'm contemplating dumping my Sirius radio in favour of an mp3 player. I know nothing about these things as I've never had one so am looking for a little guidance. What do ya'll use? Does it plug into the aux port on the scoot? How do you keep it charged up? How did you mount it on your scoot? How much did it cost? Any other info you can provide? ...and I am cheap so don't want to give up my arm and leg for one. Thanks
10. Exactly!!! and in this day and age, 1 mil is nothing ... and you could be on the hook for a lot more.
11. Gald U made it back safe and sound. As for riding on the 7th & 14th ... some folks who don't have to work have it lucky to be able to grab those opportunities when they can. Me... I have to wait for a weekend that has nice enuf weather and I'm not already doing something else.
12. on hole 11 the ball went out of the play area ....
13. heh ... the last time I rode this year was .... wait a minute... my scoot hasn't even been started since last November...
14. EagleEye dang, I .. eh ... forgot that eh
15. The actual formula is F = 9/5 * C + 32
16. Good one Rick !
17. At a local dealer here, there is currently a NEW... 2008 Road Star 2009 RSTD 2009 RSV Try and find a NEW Harley in either of those model years.... not gonna happen. This is 2011 ... pretty obvious what's selling and what isn't.
18. With the resources available on the net and elsewhere, it's easy enuf for folks to figgure it out themselves ... and it's about time you folks down there got with the rest of the world anyway and switched over to metric .... Download this app and you'll never have to wonder again... http://esb-unit-conv.softwareandgames.com/
19. Contrary to what we were led to believe last fall, this winter (so far) is turning out to be a lot nicer. Yesterday's high was 14 Celcius. Forecast for the up coming 14 days is looking pretty good. During my short 2 block walk for lunch today I saw 4 guys on bikes. With any luck I will get a chance to get out on the scoot over the coming weekend!
20. Just curious if anyone knows ... how long before/after the discontinuation of the 1st gen did they stop making accessories
21. Looking at some of your maps, it would appear that it's high time ya'll got some Canadian provinces added!
22. You're not thinking ... you're in your NOTHING BOX !
23. My apologies for generalizing. Yes, those "blue ones" can be a problem if not properly "crimped" and are left open (as in dangling) where movement of the wires is possible. I always wrap them real good with tape which prevents any wire movement. Having said that, I am not suggesting to anyone to NOT solder their wiring joints. If a person wants to do that, by all means... do it. I do it in some situations too.
24. Those blue connectors in your pics are the one's I used. Contrary to Freebird's experience, I have never had problems with these or any other type of crimping connector and I've used them many, many times over the past 40+ years. Granted, a soldered connection is by far the best but if you don't have the time, space, equipment, or knowledge or are simply in a hurry or for whatever reason, crimp connectors work if done properly and the right sizes are used IMHO.
25. I used the squeeze connectors. I tied into the stock wiring just under the seat, near the battery and ran the wires to the rear in a wire loom.
