  1. It's been such a long time since I've NOT had a jacket on, even to just go outside, I've forgotten what it was like.
  2. One of the first things I did when I got my bike is open up the intake holes on the air boxes. Dunno if it made any difference because I really didn't ride it much before doing that as it was mid-November. Mine has no problem with power or acceleration.
  3. between my legs.....
  4. We've got the J&M open-face ones ... basically the same but with external mic. They work pretty good although the mic does pick up some wind static.
  5. AWESOME!!! ya had me wonderin there.
  6. royalstar09 ... I haven't read all your posts but it seems to me you said a little while back that you were selling your scoot .... what's up??
  7. This surprises me because of anyone I know, I probably have the smallest hands ... heck, even my wife's hands are bigger LOL ..... yet this is something that has never even occurred to me ... meaning, I've never felt that the levers were too far away or for that matter, difficult to pull...on any bike I've ridden. Very interesting!
  8. crap!!! I KNEW I shouldn't have trashed the cassette deck in favor of gauges!!!
  9. So, did you try this? ... and did it work?
  10. pphhheeewwwwwwwwwwww..... glad it works for ya coz I don't wanna send MY Clearview back! LOL
  11. I've played with these scammers a few times just to get a chuckle out of the b/s they respond with. They don't usually keep responding unless they get a "serious bite". It's not just scoots they're running scams on, dogs, cats, puppies, lizards, you name it.... they play the odds game and every so often get lucky. There's a lot of ways to scam people out of their money on the internet and yes, there's a lot of naieve people out there who fall for a scam .... sometimes more than once!
  12. Very kOOL !!
  13. Like I said earlier ... as long as we have the bucks, we will ride. We simply do not even consider the price of gas when it comes to taking a "fun ride". The scoot IS our entertainment and enjoyment, not to mention therapy. We spend very little on any other form of that.
  14. from his email to me, I figgure he got it installed with the help of a few of those words!
  15. So we've all (well, many of us) have been whining about Yamaha not upgrading the RSV since 1999. Question that comes to my mind is .... has the Wing really changed much since it's current design came out in 2001? .... not really. So if Honda isn't changing, why should Yamaha? Having said that, now that the 2012 Wing is out, I bet there's something really good in store for us in a new, redesigned Venture, probably to be introduced next year.

    spring

We've been getting a lot of rain and temps 4-6 degrees celcius below normal. Even on those few odd days that we've had sunshine, it's not been as warm as it should be. This crappy weather has been with us wayyyyyyyyyy too long. It's time to FIRE the WEATHERMAN !! Oh wait!!!! ... he's forecasting sunshine and warmer temps thru Friday!! OK, don't fire him... YET! I do hope we get some nice weather during Easter weekend. Nina & I are heading down to Seattle for a couple days and it would sure be nice to make the trip on the scoot.
  17. Appears to me it will work ... I have the Morgan Carbtune. http://www.carbtune.co.uk/carbdtls.html

  21. so you actually get a chance to get a word in now and then....
  22. Ain't that the truth!! I got my '05 Silverado last December and it cost appx $65-$68 bucks to fill it. It's now almost $80. Thankfully we don't drive it all that much .... can usually go 2 weeks on a tank. EDIT: I should clarify this a bit.... I never let a gas tank get below 1/4 ... cage or scoot.
  23. Current prices around here convert to $5.03/US gallon. I really don't care what the price goes up to .... as long as I have the bucks, I will RIDE!!
  24. Seeing as we're both guys and we've never met .... but since there isn't an actual "award", I give a great big THANK YOU to jlh3rd for the great deal he made me on his "old" Clearview shield. :thumbsup2:
