Bob, Sorry to hear about your wife. I've got a buddy that might want to talk to you about your bike. Is the number on your personal info a good one to contact you at? P.S. We're both cops.

Has anyone tried both the E3 and the Venom? I've been riding on E3 and liked them alot. The front still is 50% but the rear is due. Do Venoms wear better/worse than the E3s? I got 11K out of the rear E3 will get 20K out of the front it appears?

I bought my 06 as used, but it had only 1K on it. Transferred the warranty and have done nothin' but ride it. Do the things you mentioned and you'll have a great bike at a decent price.

Its the new Kaw. I saw one yesterday. From a distance very similar to what we all were wanting in the new Venture. Kaw beat Yama to it!

Did I miss it or does it not have a CB? I like talking to my friends!

Another option is Dunlop Elite 3s. I've got 9,000+ on them and they look like they have at least that much left on the rear and more on the front. Here in mid MO we have lots of twisties, and I've found them to have excellent traction as well. The Avon are excellent as well. I'd price them both. My worth!

A bunch of us were there in June saw a few LEOs on Wed. We were going pretty slow had two bikes two up and a Harley that, well.... not gonna stir the pot. Traffic was light. It was great. By the way, we are all LEOs anyway.

Passing lights and turn signals 2002 Venture

If you want to go a cheaper way, go to your local parts house and pick up H7616 bulbs for your stock light bar. No changes needed and they'll run about $16-17 each. -
I was looking at one last week. I was offered a ride, but didn't have my own helmet and didn't want to share others head grease. One thing I noticed was the small bags. There's not nearly as much useful storage on the bike. That in itself isn't a big deal if you pull a trailer for trips. But I also really couldn't see a good way to mount a hitch to pull our trailer. Also while I didn't ride it. I did notice that the grips felt very distant. I'm rather short 5'9", but have very long arms 35". I don't think it would be comfortable for all day trips. I do plan on getting in there to ride it though.

The Yamaha "Star" brand visors are very good quality and you can get them at South Seattle worth the money. I've had no issues with mine so far.

Just a question for someone who's changed one out. How long did it take? Mine is just 2 years and 18,000 miles old, so it will be a while before it goes south, but I sure would like the extra juice!

Durango or NW Arkansas, both are great riding locales.

Dunlop Elite 3 tires

I've a set with about 12,000 on them. Probably 70% left. I've not noticed the rain issue though. I've been caught out in 2 day long rains and never a missed step. I do allow for greater stopping distances though... -
OK, I must have developed a brain fart. Why am I getting a "sigpic" at the bottom of my posts, rather than my states visited map? I changed it after my trip to the smokys last week and can't seem to get it to work since.

Question on Higher Output Stator
1sttenor replied to kantornado's topic in Royal Star Venture Tech Talk ('99 - '13)
I did the same on mine, as far as going with LEDs. Since I've put them on the trailer I have only a .1v drop in voltage when the trailer is on. -
Depends on what you want. If you leave it outside all the time, you'll want something heavy. But if your main concern is taking trips, or just covering for the day, WalMart carries a lightweight cover that I and several other HD and Wing riders I ride with are using. And for the price you can replace it two or three times, in the event you do get it damaged.

Thanks Guys!

Hey, had a great time on the trip. Did you see this? http://www.venturerider.org/forum/showthread.php?threadid=23435

Keith, Where'd you get that? Or did you just make it? By the way, a Wagner Grill is my next option purchase.

Looks great. What pegs are those?

I've got the TomTom 720. I use the Ram Mount its the best I've ever seen. Very, very secure and a breeze to reposition and holds the position very securely. If I can get a minute, I'll post how mines mounted.

South Seattle is a great place to work with
