We have Frogg Toggs - Road Toads. I got caught in a monsoon in Ark last year. I was in the tent and my rain gear was in the saddle bags. Finallly waited as long as I could for the rain to let up, but to no avail. I was soaked by the time I got out to the bike and back into the tent. Changed my shirt but not my pants. After riding 150 miles in that rain, my shirt was still dry!

I'd love to be able to come over and meet you, especially since you're only 2 hours away, but my weekend is packed. I will try on a later one. Maybe we could meet in Hermann for lunch some weekend this summer.

We've got officers working in the Joplin-Neosho, MO area. At least 14 are known dead. I've never seen any of our members in that area, as I watch for MO folks, but they are in our prayers.

I wear Maui Jims as well. They are a bit more expensive, but optics are great. Doesn't hurt that I have a cheap source for them as well. Their polycarbs are now available with reading glasses that are not in my line of sight, even when looking at the dash. Love 'em.

I've had two wings - good bikes - but the day long riding position of the RSV is second to none. You won't be sorry.

Windshield?????? what and where

The more i ride behind my Clearview, the better I like it. I at first thought I'd switch shield, depending if the boss was riding with me. But now I've decided that I probably won't take it off again. They're great.- 25 replies

I just about bought an Ultra Classic before I bought this 06. I just love the RSV and I figure I'm $10,000 ahead, minimum.

Has anyone changed out or know someone who have changed their rear running/brake light bulb to the brighter so-called halogen bulb? I know they're not really halogen, but they are brighter and slightly hotter. If anyone has, have you seen a degradation of your tail lens? Thanks in advance for your responses!

Congrats! And remember...if you smile to big, you may have bugs in your teeth!

I rode over to the local bike shop today. They are predominently a Honda shop, but also sell Yamaha and Kaws. Just as I was getting ready to leave I see this guy come running toward me. He said that he just had to talk to the owner of a Venture. He went on to say that he had sold his bike and really liked the looks of the Venture and wanted feedback from an owner. Well...I not the most objective guy when it comes to my Venture. I haven't had and of the troubles that some have had on this forum; no chirp, no more whine than on my last two GWs and I love the ergos on this bike more everytime I ride it. The only problem I've had was taken care of with new rubber. Anyway, we talked about the bike for a while and we both had to leave. We'll see, maybe we'll have a new member soon. I talked up the forum too!

Been ridin' for 30 years. If you've riden for any time at all there are two types of bikers: 1. Those who've layed one down at slow or no speed, and 2. THOSE WHO'VE LIED ABOUT NOT HAVING DONE SO!

Roadkill, I got the vent. I was playing with it a bit, even though it was cold and damp. I noticed that if I opened it up to the first notch, I had quieter air in the envelope. It surprised me, but I think it would also help in the rain, also at closer inspection the vent is made to allow airflow up the back of the shield. Excellent design! I mentioned before that I may switch back to my OEM shield when solo. Has anyone else cut one down a bit and switched, or are y'all just leaving the clearview on?

I, too, got my first ride in this past weekend with my XXL. The weather was cold here, but the boss and I had promised some friends we'd meet them about 80 miles from here for lunch. My impressions were good. It was cloudy the whole day so I was wondering what glare would be like and I still don't know. The air flow around both the boss and I was much better. I hardly noticed when meeting trucks on 2 lane roads. It did seem quieter at highway speeds, 60+. The wife say she really saw a difference in buffeting. She had just about quit riding with me saying that it gave her headaches. Final analysis, I think I may cut down my stock shield 3.5 inches and use it when solo, mainly because I missed having my shield bags. Since its about 5 minutes to switch the screens,I'll just put the Clearview on when momma rides with me.

I have a GPS mounted on my handlebars with a Ram mount. It isn't cumbersome at all and rock solid. They are terrific. I use my GPS for my tunes, so I have no XM or Sirius. My only worry would be that the vent mounts I've seen are a bit flimsy. That's ok in a cage, but I wouldn't want to put my $400-$600 GPS or any other electonics on the pavement!
