  1. I will pass on the ABS In my truck I disabled it because it takes longer to stop and on more than one ocassion it scared the @@@@ out of me. Many tuck drivers I have known had rear end collisions that they swear would not have happend were it not for that ABS garbage. Its only useful purpose is to be able to manouver the vehicle while braking, something which a good driver should be able to do anyway
  2. Try getting a torx bit slightly larger then the size of the socket hole of the allen bolt , tap it in with a small hammer it will create its own spline then wind it out. I find torx bits work better than most easy outs and I use them for this purpose all the time. plus u can use a wrench or socket to turn them.
  3. I E-mailed dunlop and inquired about the elite threefor the front of the first Gen and this is the replie they sent me
  4. Ok you guys are really depressing me . I finally get my bike back on the road and your talking nasty weather
  5. I you insist on riding naked may I suggest you do not park the bike in the sun :rotfl::rotfl::rotfl:
  6. Does this mean You will still wave to us on the road ?
  7. hard to say seemed like they might have been a bit better
  8. If you do have to rebuild there not bad to do but pull apart and inspect solid parts for pitting and scoring before getting a rebuild kit, if they are then replace caliper
  9. Maybe trunk unlocked warning light on the instrument cluster would be a good idea EH ?
  10. I totally understand how you feel having been in accident myself twice in 35 yrs both due to cager negligence or ignorance I find myself somewhat uneasy around them. problem is I love riding too much too quit. But no need for you to be a stranger to this site we've all become friends here through the common interest of motorcycle's but last and foremost we are still friends and friends don't walk away from friends. Even a fallen soldiar is still a soldiar among his commrads:thumbsup:
  11. I have always locked mine for that very reason but since putting the scoot back together i never thought about it anymore thanks for the reminder.
  12. wow never mind the hide left on your tires how much hide do you have left on your butt
  13. I plan on getting in a few more rides yet cold or not as long as the roads are dry and safe . I've got some lost miles to make up for and worked too long and hard on this scoot to put it away yet By the way Bob thanks again for the spare parts you brought me
  14. Went for cruise stopped in and visited Wizard765 and then across over to visit Marcarl . I totally enjoyed meeting them they are extremely nice people. The ride home however was chilly, once the sun vanished the thermometer fell big time. By the way Carl I did manage to wait untill I got home before eating all that jerky, but once I did I could not stop until it was gone. that is good stuff.:7_6_3[1]::7_6_3[1]:
  15. I'm sure this will be a tough one for you every year but at least you have all the friends one could ever ask for right here to help carry you through those moments , and yes you are riding for two now.
  16. Guess I'll just have to give these puppys some time to break in maybe Ill try the sand paper thing. I did notice coming home from Marcarl's today when on the highway they did handle those tarred in repair strips (road snakes) better, didn't even feel them.
  17. I put new avon venoms on my scoot and I find they feel a little slippery in the corners, almost like riding on a wet road. Has anyone else experienced this. Is it because the tires are new and not scuffed in yet? because the temp are cooler and they dont like cool weather? Or did they change to a harder compound ? At this point i really wish I had my dunlop elite II's back on the bike.
  18. I too feel for your loss . have had to do it maney times myself including a horse i had for 20 years. the problem there was he was healthy and strongbut broke a front leg in a gopher hole. I once read a poem called the final kind act which i found really helped to put things in perspective. A lot of us keep a suffering animal alive for our own benifit not theres and the poem makes you relize you have to do what must be done for there sake not ours.
  19. Make sure the wife not looking then when she not around to catch you steal her basting tool. Be verrrry careful, getting caught could subject you to severe consequences

  23. I bet she would look even better in my garage:lightbulb:
  24. If the paint you put on is hotter than the paint there (eg: lacqer over enamal ) this is exactly what happens Sand the lid down to bare plastic , spray with adhesion promoter and prime when tacky within 10 minutes. Make sure your primer and top coats are compatible , if not sure buy from an automotive paint supllier that knows there product.
  25. Sounds like were I work the more senority you get the less rights you have seems like all the gravy and choice work goes to the newst guy hired. Welcome to the yuppe age.
