  1. from the insurance company. As a lot of you know my bike was wrecked in an accident last august. I finally got the cheque this week and so today I started pulling my bike apart to see what else I need to fix it. I managed to get a lot of the major pcs from a bike scrap yard although even these pcs need some repair work. I my still try to find a better left side upper fairing. On the down side I decide to pull my final drive apart assuming it would need new bearings since it had a bad whine and i was constantly changing the oil to get rid of metal fillings so I could continue to ride it the remainder of the summer (didnt count on getting run of the road though). Sad thing is after i pulled it apart i discovered the threaded end was snapped off of the pinion gear, and as near as i can figure crown and pinion are not available for this as separate or matched parts.
  2. Ive been extremely busy latly and so haven't been getting on the site much, so I wasn't aware that of this situation. I met Bob Becky twice, once at Maracarls last year and once since when he stopped by my place of work here in burlington on his way to Kitchener to give me some parts to help get my bike back together. I Found them very easy people to like and so I feel bad for what he is going through. I hope he recovers quickly and is soon back on his feet and scoot. Hope to see them both again soon.
  3. I can't agree with you more Gary. back in 1976 I had insurance through a company that was the best deal around (so I thought) but when a pickup truck coming the opposite way cut in front off me causing me to smack right into the side of the truck, I was left high and dry by the insurance company because (1) the other guy did not report the accident to his employer and thier insurance company which took the stance that there was no accident and (2) since my damage to the bike was less than the deductable my insurance company claimed that since they had no financial interest in the matter ther was no need for them to do anything about it. Fortunatly for me when I approached the owner of the company he was actually happy to find out how the big dent mysterously got into the side of his truck . He covered all my damages and fired the emplyee right in front of me for not reporting it.
  4. Hey Gary glad to see you got back in the saddle, hope to see you again at Carls this summer

  8. As most of you know I was cut of by a car last august. initially it was deemed that the driver of the car was 100% at fault. While I was in Germany the final police report came in and based on it findings the insurance Co. decided to hold each of us 50% responsible. the other guy claimed he was in my lane all along and that I came up behind him and lost control. Despite the fact that this guy had no license (it was suspended and drove an uninsured Car borrowed from a friend, the officer gave his version more credibility then mine. She did not even show a left hand turn lane in her report nor took notice of the skid and scrape marks on the pavement which clearly backed up my version of what happened. I did up my own version of what happened included a google arial pic of the intersection indicating vehical positions and movement prior to during and after the accident. I also indicated were the the skid and scrape marks on the pavement were and pointed out that i had shown these marks to both the first officer on the scene and the officer who did the report, and sent this in to the police complaint dept. My complaint was looked into and apparently they were able to verify that there were marks . apparently the officer who took over the investigation was new and this was her first solo report and she had left this fact out of her report. As a result the police dept promptly corrected this error and kindly contacted my insurance co. who has now agreed that the other person is once again 100% at fault. They offered me a decent settlement minus $250.00 should I decide to keep my bike. needless to say I kept my bike and will soon be looking for parts to get it back together for this summer. So there is no misunderstanding I would like to point out the police involved in this were all very nice and treated me with much respect.
  9. How much hassel would it be to bring something like that across the border into Canada and get it registered I've heard a lot of us dealers wont take Canadian bikes because of politiacal and border aggravation and wonder if it would be the same comong the other way
  10. I dont get on the site a lot lately' just been extremely busy . But it really pains me that when I do Sad news awaits. I hope and pray that Mark and Nancy pull through this and can smile once again.
  11. Ok i don't thick i'll be buying any piggys in a blanket from you Marcarl :stirthepot: I wear terra lite work boots black with a zipper up the side and they are great
  12. I DON'T BELEIVE THIS APPLIES IF YOU ARE WHITE ,STAIGHT, CHRISTIAN ( OR EQUIVELENT) AND CANADIAN BORN, IN WHICH CASE YOU ARE STRIPPED OF ALL RIGHTS. YES WELCOME TO CANADA!!!
  13. IF THIS IS TTRUE WHY IS IT EVERYTIME THERE IS A GUN RELATED CRIME THEY PASS MORE GUN CONTROL LAWS ON RESPONSIBLE GUN OWNERS WHO DO NOT OWN 9MM OR AK47 ETC. THERE ARE LAWS AND ALWAYS HAVE BEEN THAT SAY IT IS UNLAWFULL TO COMMIT ASSUALT OR MURDER REGARDLESS OF THE WEAPON USED, AND OUR GOVERNMENT SIMPLY NEEDS TO ENFORCE THESE LAWS AND NOT BE AFRAID TO EXACT PROPER HARSH PUNISHMENT ON THOSE WHO COMMIT SUCH CRIMES. CURRANT GUN CONTROL ONLY SERVES TO LET THE WEAK MINDED BELIEVE THE GOVERNMENT IS DOING SOMETHING IN OTHER WORDS A SMOKE SCREEN. SINCE GUN CONTROL HAS BEEN IMPLEMENTED GUN RELATED CRIMES HAVE ACTUALLY INCREASED. YOU CAN ADD ALL THE JUNK YARD DOGS TO A COMPOUND YOU WANT BUT IF YOU PUT MUZZELS ON THEM WHAT GOOD IS IT. WELCOME TO CANADA WHEN GUNS ARE OUTLAWED ONLY OUTLAWS WILL HAVE GUNS
  14. Thats Great News Gary. Like Charlie Say's Hope To See You Out And About This Summer.
  15. THATS RIGHT HE SAID IT PROVEING ONCE AGAIN THAT THE ONLY REASON SOME OWN SECOND GENS IS BECAUSE THERE NO LONGER ARE ENOUGH FIRST GENS (1st CHOICE) TO GO AROUND
  16. Glad to hear you made it through that one . I know how serious that can be as i almost lost my father to a simillar thing .In his case they drilled 6 holes in his skull and attached drain tubes to drain away the blood pools.I would have to say you had a very close call and and its great that you got through it. Stay Healthy and keep smilling.
  17. Brad And Lonna I Havent Been On Site Much Lately , Too Busy With Work. But To Come On And Find Out You Too Had An Accident Was Not The First Thing I Wanted To Read About. 19. I dont know about the bikes and it may need to be checked into but on big rigs when lights are changed to LED we have to reprogram the LCM (light control module) to look for a lower currant draw range to keep it from thinking there is either a short or burned out bulb. Check with the OEM to see if it is possible to reprogram this parameter in the bikes module.
  20. Don I don't think anyone of us could have said it all any better than you did in your opening post. It is sad however that it had to be said at all, assuming that most people being adults would show some degree of common sense and tolorance and not always jump on the political correctness band wagon which even in everyday life seems to be an acceptable wet blanket for those who always seem to find something silly to cry about, when the world is full of much more serious issues that could be addressed, and to the benifit of all instead of individual special interest groups. By the way I love this site and the people ive met both on and off the site. something I and I know others would not have benifited by had it not been for your efforts.

  22. I like the patch choice and i like the change . Maybe down the road we could redesign the venture rider logo to a simpler one so in future it can be incoporated into the patches.
  23. last time i saw him they were BLUE but he was probably down a quart that day :rotf:
  24. All these ideas are great and for the most part I am in full agreement. BUT how do you get throught to the ones who just don't give a D%%%. like the guy who passes you on the right and cuts a left turn right in front of you across you path of travel?
