HD pipes and a loss of power
DragonRider replied to Moakster's topic in Royal Star Venture Tech Talk ('99 - '13)
Go ahead and do a 2nd and 3rd stage drill on the bafflew when you remove them and slip them back on and see what happens, you have nothing to loose in doing this except a few minutes to drill them..................Then if that doesnt work................get another set. I put some 03 RK's on my first gen, without drilling them and really like the sound I got out of them. Now that I have my new V Star1300, I might just do a stage 1 dril of the baffles when I take her apart for a makeover, the 1st Gen, that is..........:whistling: -

Looks like your doing it right already, the earlier you start planning these things, the better, if I can be of any help, let me know. If your going to contact companies for donations, I can give you a list of the ones I contacted and came through for me for the Vogel events....... Good luck:080402gudl_prv:

DragonRider replied to uthpda's topic in Venture and Venture Royale Tech Talk ('83 - '93)
Harley parts mounted on your bike,if so, this is going to happen from time to time, I have Road King pipes on my 1st gen and ever since I did that, I have had a couple of parts be Delaminated By Speed, and also start marking its spots at time............:rotf::rotf: My dash vent has Dlaminated twice, second time, gone for good, and that little dash vent costs $40.00 brand new.:080402gudl_prv: -

I dropped mine at the first Vogel, in front of Muffinman and Mini-muffin, and I dropped it again at Vogel II, but I managed to keep it up on two wheels at Vogel III. Hope I dont have to contribute to the fund considering.......:080402gudl_prv: -

Help With Dash Computer Bypass!
DragonRider replied to dschwei's topic in Venture and Venture Royale Tech Talk ('83 - '93)
Did you try resoldering the circuit board, thats been a big problem with 1st gens, when things start going screwy with the electrical, its most likely a bad solder on the board, we resoldered mine a good while ago and it fixed all my problems. [que=dschwei;120466]Dash computer is shot! Does anybody know how to completely bypass the dash computer. I have bypassed the headlight and the taillight but I can't figure out the brake lights. I jumped the pin connector for the head light and tail light but I am having trouble finding the right combination for a brake light jump across the connector. Any help would be appreciated and would get me back on the road. Thanks, Derek -

Very Happy
DragonRider replied to Macdogg's topic in Venture and Venture Royale Tech Talk ('83 - '93)
When I replaced the tires that came on my bike, I went with those also, they didnt last 7000 miles, i was very disapointed, So I replaced them with Avon Venom X and I have over 8500 miles on them and they dont even show any signs of wear. I heard that Dunlop started using a softer compound in the 404's, and that is why they didnt last........I too was impressed with the way my bike handled with them, just didnt last long enuff for me. Thats my story and I am sticking to it.......:cool10:
