  4. Gee, Muffinman threw a party and everybody didnt show.........maybe they got tired of going to the same place all the time............:rotf::rotf: Change it and they will come......:rotf:
  5. Just received this email about a new Xmas postage stamp the USPS is putting out............ According to Snopes.com, this is true. It actually "commemorates two Muslim holidays." HOWEVER, they still need to add a 2 cent stamp for the mail to get anywhere!!! CHRISTMAS STAMP How ironic is this??!! They don't even believe in Christ and they're getting their own Christmas stamp, but don't dream of posting the ten commandments on federal property? US PS New Stamp This one is impossible to believe. Scroll down for the text. If there is only one thing you forward today.....let it be this! http://us.f303.mail.yahoo.com/ya/download/us/ShowLetter?box=Inbox&MsgId=1722_19814638_11177_1921_24568_0_70947_43975_197724304&bodyPart=2.2&YY=17721&y5beta=yes&y5beta=yes&order=down&sort=date&pos=0&view=a&head=b&Idx=2 REMEMBER the MUSLIM bombing of Pan Am Flight 103! REMEMBER the MUSLIM bombing of the WorldTradeCenter in 1993! REMEMBER the MUSLIM bombing of the Marine Barracks in Lebanon! REMEMBER the MUSLIM bombing of the military Barracks in Saudi Arabia! REMEMBER the MUSLIM bombing of the American Embassies in Africa! REMEMBER the MUSLIM bombing of the USS COLE! REMEMBER the MUSLIM attack on 9/11/2001! REMEMBER all the AMERICAN lives that were lost in those vicious MUSLIM attacks! Now the United States Postal Service REMEMBERS and HONORS the EID MUSLIM holiday season with a commemorative first class Holiday postage stamp. Bull! REMEMBER to adamantly and vocally BOYCOTT this stamp When purchasing your stamps at the post office. To use this stamp would be a slap in the face to all those AMERICANS who died at the hands of those whom this stamp honors. REMEMBER to pass this along to every patriotic AMERICAN you know!!! I need to check this out a little more, maybe someone here can disprove this, sure would like to believe its a fake............ Ok, its been out for about 2 years, not actually a Christmas stamp, for more here is the link about it.......... http://www.snopes.com/politics/religion/eidstamp.asp
  6. I got a pm from them a few days ago, all is well.
  7. I have set the date for Saturday, October 27, 2007. I have set the time for 1:00 pm for us to arrive at the hospital. I have confirmed this date with Dennis Johnston at St. Jude Childrens Hospital and they are more than happy to accomodate us on that date. What they will need to know is aprox. how many to expect so they can have ample parking available for us. We will be given a tour of the hospital and its facilities while we are there. If we have a large group of more that 15 or 20 they will need to break us up into two groups. As for bringing something for the kids, he is going to send me a list of things that would be acceptable, since they dont want anything brought in that might harbor harmful bacteria.....no stuffed animals in one of the no no's. He is also sending a guideline for the tour. I will post all of that info as soon as I receive it. So if you plan on attending, please let me know for sure no later than Oct. 19th. Thanks to all who have donated and/or planning on attending this meaningful event. This is for me a 1 day event, I will be leaving Memphis to return to Atlanta after we have done everything and have had a nice meal. If anyone would like to add to the amount that we have already raised at Vogel, you can send them to me at my snail mail or Paypal. Just pm me and let me know how you would like to do it. Thanks again.
  8. That old truck is older than you....:rotf::rotf:but sure looks good for its age, thats more than I can say for some of us that are as old or older than it............Sounds like a great trip, wish I could do one like that, but that will have to wait a few years after I retire...........:whistling:
  9. Bill, I have almost 1000 miles on mine now and I have noticed that the noise is lessening or Im just getting used to it.....of course we dont have radios blasting in our ears to drown out all the outside noise, I really notice the wind noise on this bike a lot more than I did on my 1st gen. But it doesnt take away from the ride, Im glad you like it. Jamie aka Wingman traded bikes for a short while today and he was totally blown away by the power and smoothness of the ride, he said it reminded him what riding a basic motorcycle was all about, and I had forgotten how big his Wing is..............
  10. Check out this video, Boeing 757 with special Rolls Royce engines...........just watch. This Boeing 757-200 of No.40 Squadron, Royal New Zealand Air Force, is performing a 350 knot pass at 100 ft, before displaying the 757’s awesome power-to-weight ratio with a 45 degree climb out to 7,500ft. The video was taken at RNZAF Base Whenuapai, Auckland, New Zealand, probably at the 2004 Air Force Open Day [ame=http://www.alexisparkinn.com/photogallery/Videos/2006-757_departure.wmv]757 Radical Departure[/ame]
  11. I really like the V Star 1300, it has all the power I need or want, the seat for me is pretty comfortable, the only thing that I find a little off is the reach to the handlebars and from what I have read on the V Star forums that is the main complaint with the bike, of course some complain of the engine noise or the noise from the tranny when its in neutral, but its not as noisy as my 1st gen. I havent had it on the open road yet for a long trip but I am hoping to do so pretty soon, want to take a trip to New Orleans area and visit my son and his wife and visit some old friends I have down there. Let me know how much you like it after you get home, and dont forget pics, pics, and more pics. The only colors my dealer had to choose from was Raven, which they called black, and a blue one, but it wasnt touring, so I settled on the Raven and I am glad I did, it is a beautiful bike, I hope you like it as much as I do, since it seems I steered you in that direction.....................:whistling:
  12. It was good to see you guys again, since you left early, I guess you didnt catch the announcement about Charlene and I not doing Vogel in 08, unless you did a lot of catch up reading after getting back online, we are taking a break from a biking vacation, but Mini and Muffinman are doing a Venture In, in Ashville, NC around the same time of year next year, but we will likely be back at Vogel in 09, unless someting drastic happens..........GOD forbid.
  13. And its still kinda early for you folks in another time zone, but just wondering if you camped out at the dealership to pick up your bike. You never did mention what color you bought. What are your plans for accessories, gonna give it the same treatment you did your RSTD? Havent done much to mine yet escept to mount the Satelitte readio, now just waiting till I have a few more extra dollars to get the CB for it. Dont forget the pics Bill...........Good luck and good riding with the new ride............
  14. I, like you am not a big fan of chrome, the bike looks great, thats one reason I like my 1st gen, not a lot of chrome on it and my new bike V Star 1300 is pretty much the same, not a whole lot of chrome and there will be less when I change out the exhaust system and go with a black system..........the only chrome left will be the windshield mounts and the handlebars, and the headlight ring............. Would like to see some close ups of your bike if possible............
  15. Yep, we collecting them.........:rotf:
  16. There are a lot of words of wisdom posted here, I myslelf ride a 1st Gen, and just purchased a lighter V Star 1300 touring. Not trying to sway you at all, the RSV is a great bike, it has to be with so many people riding it. Good luck with you new bike when you get it............ and as for the quote below, we could have told you how great this place is and how addicting it is, so watch out, make sure you past a pic when you get that new ride, cause that is Rule # 1. This site is amazing and you can thank Freebird for that........:cool10:
  17. Bill, did you get the touring edition or the standard, and what color did you get,,,,,,,,,,the raven is the fastest color in this line...........:cool10:....Congratulations!!!!
  18. So I take it, that this is only for those that belong to the dark side....................:stirthepot::rotf:
  19. Thats it, thats the one I like, and I dont think it could get any clearer or better than that.............Very good.............It gets 100 of my votes..........:rotf::rotf: Seriously........that is a great looking patch...........:080402gudl_prv:
  20. You can locate it on one of the side walls, then you could drive it right on the lift, you dont have to locate it on the rear wall, and I would secure it with a couple of straps if i were using it.........just as a precaution.
  21. Of one of our members getting injured, will keep you in our prayers for a speedy recovery. At least your still here to tell us about it...........Hope the young girl gets a stiff judgement from the judge for her actions...........Hang in there and keep us informed of your progress.
  22. Anybody seen this yet.................. http://southwesttrikes.com/stallion.htm
  23. Now we know who wears the pink pants in that family, and it aint Mini...............I always knew Jeff was a little strange, but this takes the cake............or should I beef-cake.........:rotf:
  24. Yep, that was his mirror, on our return to the Dragon at Vogel in Aug, he hung some more artifacts from his bike there..............Also next time somebody goes to the Dragon, be sure to check out the restaurant at the bottom, we left an autographed Dragon t-shirt and they said they were going to hang it over the door between the restaurant and the store.....if you have a camera, please take a pic and post it here.
  25. I read a post here lately where someone use Easy Off Oven Cleaner to remove something from their fairing, said it did a great job................Here is the thread related to it............ http://www.venturerider.org/forum/showthread.php?t=11301&highlight=easy+oven+cleaner&page=2
