  1. I have put on 14,000 miles on tire with a patch and plug. The shop I get my tires from take the tire off and plug it and put a patch on the inside.
  2. sounds like the way a truck or cars water line hook into the firewall to goto heater core. I remember in the early 70's when I started driving I had a heater hose I had to replace. When I was putting the new one on I wiggle it a little gotting it on. It crack it and leak. I had to bypass it till I got it fixed.
  3. I heard Sunday that it was hard to walk down sidewalk. That it was pack.
  4. I got one from Carbon One this year love it. The wife got me a Goodyear jack for christmas the frist year I had the bike and that was in 2005. Never got to use it till this year. I love it makes it easier to clean the back rim with out have to take saddlebags off to.
  5. I ran aross this today. I had never seen it ot heard of it. “Augusta and Adeline Van Buren (related to President van Buren) grew up as Society Girls who eventually married, raise families, and held jobs. But that’s not the whole story. Raised in New York City, they sound like stereotypes of their time. Except that on July 4, 1916 they left from Sheepshead Bay in Brooklyn and trekked west on two Power Plus Indian motorcycles equipped with gas headlights. Here is the rest. http://www.cyrilhuzeblog.com/2009/01...er-experience/
  6. My bad on water cooled. I guess where I was talking to a guy in 08 that was going to school to learn to work on them in FL. That it was going to happen in 2012 or 2013. Sorry for that post.
  7. I did know one guy at work that had one with 125,000 miles on it and had never rebuild top end. Still running great he rode it to work everyday even in the snow. I do agree with you SilvrT on them holding there value. Here is a link about a guy taking a 2005 Road King on a trip to Alaska this year. I don't remember him having any motorcycle problems. http://www.pashnit.com/forum/showthread.php?t=29516
  8. If I was going to buy a new one I would wait for the 2012 modles to come out. They are going water cooled in 2012 or that the word. http://motorcycles.about.com/b/2011/04/01/2012-harley-davidson-lineup-to-break-tradition-with-water-cooled-engines.htm I was going to buy new ultra back in 2005 and the salesman piss me off at southside harley in Indy. So I called dryers up and ask them if they had a red and black RSTD in stock and they did. Pick it up and saved $6,000. Got a bike with 4 inches longer wheel base 3 more years of warranty. A guy that I work with pick up a 2003 ultra a year later that only had 1100 miles on it. He had owen one back in the 80's and notice that it seam the seat and tour pack was shorter. His wife said it was like she was squash in. He found a kit to move thing back some. I ride with a lot of harley guys and it seams like with the newer one just go over it a lot and tighten up the bolts every so often. Oh I was told back in 2008 that they was going have to go to water cooled in 2012 or 2013 to meet EPA standadrs.
  9. Being retired it verys on time. Sometimes 4 hour to 20 hours. Depends on the honey do list.
  10. Glad to hear you are OK. I'm still waiting on my parts to come in.
  11. It will be interesting to hear what you find out what caused the problem.
  12. I don't see where it said a drunk cop hit them. So there sould be no covered up.
  13. Malwarebyte is free. There is one you can pay for but all it does is it will run in the back groud all the time. Free one works great for when you want to do a scan. http://www.malwarebytes.org/products/malwarebytes_free
  14. I have ran metzler's ME 880's on my RSTD for 5 years now no problems at all. I was told by the shop that put them on to run 45 lbs in front and rear.
  15. I know where I layed my RSTD down it surprised me on that the parts cost. Insurance adjuster had down $3750 for all dealer had down $4750. I told them to work it out. Dealer called yesterday and said they have it work out. He said part are order now. I told him good let me know when you have them all in and I will bring the bike in. But I can see where they total them out so easy. Those cost of those parts add up fast. One thing I did do was take the bike out and get it up to some speed and took hands of handlebars and it stayed straight. I'm have it done had Dryer Honda South and the service manager told me friday they was going to stamp some type of paper work for me. I guess some type of certification stamp. They want me to trade it in on a Goldwing. I just told them do me a good job and I will be back in a few year to buy a Wing.
  16. Kelly Blue books says Retail Value Excellent $10,375. Trade in value in good shape $7,330.
  17. Well my RSTD should be back like it was in a few weeks. Yahama says they have all the parts in stock with right color codes. The dealer should have all the parts in a weeks or so. I still have the bike untill they get them in. Then I will take it to them to have installed. Midicat wife told me that after I get it fixed I should sale it and get a Goldwing. Because I told her the next motorcycle would be a wing. But I told her the RSTD still had a lot of miles left in it. With whats going on with the economy in the U.S. I will wait. I got my house paid for this May and I want to wait a few years. Being retired it is harder to stick that money back and I want to be able to pay cash for the wing.
  18. I know ordering part for my 2005 RSTD where I lay it down last Sunday suprised me. Cost runing around $4000. I got Dryer South doing the work. Yahama said they have all the parts in stock with right color. So I guess in a few weeks they will be put on. I stll have the bike to ride till they come in.
  19. Ran in to this video on a nother site. Made me think of a post I read on here the other day. Some one was going to get rid of his plush ride for a Yahama new Duel Sport. Some about a Bucket List to do. Bella Coola July 2011 [ame=http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=_fSbd8eCgqE]‪Bella Coola July 2011‬‏ - YouTube[/ame]
  20. Well I just hope that I can take it to dealer and let him see what all part I need. Them him order them and I will bring the bike in then to get it fix. Because the way it is right now I can stll ride it. I just don't want to be with out it for long time. I would put them on my self but that lower cawling needs to be look at on the inside good to see whats bent or broken. Plus looking at Yahama cadalog I can't tell on the saddle parts I can't tell witch number would be the lid or if I would have to order the hole thing. But all I need is the lid and the out side hinge. Plus what the differencebetween a VXZ13ctt and a XVZ12CTTC. One the paper work I have it say XVZ13CTTR? I'm guessing mine is a VXZ13CCT.
  21. Oh I was wrong on the deductable I have $250. So thats a lot better. I have $500 on the car and truck.
  22. yep we will see how good Progressive is. The frist $500 will be on me.
