  1. Yammer Dan, and how much does the coach at WVU make? There is money in "all sports" (most of it, you and I, will never know about) If you want to take the money out of the game (do you?) ONLY ALLOW colleges and Pro teams, to recruit people born and raised in their state... That way they couldn't buy talent...........
  2. "well my thoughts are before long the NFL will have to be added to the list, thats right the list=religon, polatics and now the NFL." I don't think it'll ever get that bad. Although i use to like baseball i only actually ever went to 5 or 6 games. Wasn't because of cost, it was because i get a much better view on my TV than i ever could at the stadium, plus i dont get rained on...and my beer is about .60 cents a can instead of $5...LOL As far as the pay goes, they deserve whatever they can negoiate as the life expectancy of most of these players are "Very Short lived" indeed.
  3. Sweeeeet!... Although, Not very practical without control surfaces on wing. Looks like he's steering with his hands. Minor course adjustments at best? Of course in the Grand Canyon what more would you need... Also, Needs to detach from that machine and do seperate landings. Looks like he could get hurt permanent with that thing strapped to his back...
  4. Well, at long last the first game of week 1 will begin at 8:30 pm ET. This is going to be a "must see" game as it pares the last two Superbowl Champions against one another... Personally, I'm for the Saints (still PO about the Steelers giving the game away to the Packers earlier this year), and, I like Drew Brees style. The other great game, is this Sunday at 1 pm ET. Hey, whenever the Ravens and Steelers play "it's all good!":Avatars_Gee_George: Rough and tumble... Well... Can anyone else suggest other games that would be good to watch? or pick the winners of this, week 1 regular season? Come on, Bring it!
  5. check your air pressure... I've always heard your tire shouldn't gain more than 4 lbs. pressure when ridden unless something isn't right... dragging brakes/alignment problem/insufficient air pressure etc...
  6. LOL Yeah i figured it would smoke alot but i really wanted to unvarnish/clean out everything associated with the fuel delivery system Intend to fill er up with 15 gals of 89 octane when i take her to the river... My concern is with the smoke pouring out from under the seat??? after that loud bang ... like i said before the creramic washers need to be replaced with steel ones. In fact everything i'm reading says to replace them before you even take out the first time as if they explode it could ruin your entire engine... Why in the heck did bomadier use in the first place??? And, the supercharger needs to be rebuilt every 100 hrs??? thats kinda high maintainence if you ask me...
  7. I've just encountered a possible problem with my 2005 Sea Doo RXP. It has only 59.6 hours on it. I bought new back in 05 and have never had a problem with it. I run it almost completely out of gas and engine mist it every year before storing. Being busy this year didn't get a chance to ride but figured I'd better start it. Added 1 can of sea foam to approx 1/2 gal of gas to clean fuel system and let run for 2 min. Then added 2 gal of fresh gas... wouldn't start, so i depressed throttle and thats when I heard a loud bang??? sounded like an inner tube exploding Smoke is coming out from under seat? Took plastic topper off and dip stick removed spark plugs cleaned with wire brush and carb cleaner dryed out using map gas tourch, coated threads with antioxidant. Before installing plugs placed my palm over holes and had compression. Reinstalled plugs and it started up (i shut down after 10 seconds) as i was afraid something was wrong with all the smoke coming from the engine compartment... Can see no oil or coolant in hull of ski and the dipstick has clear oil on it? Cant find the source of the smoke and don't want to run it like that... Any thoughts would be appreciated... Thanks in advance, Joe Thinking about tearing her apart and inspecting the Superchargers ceramic washers. May also find the source of smoke when I do? Will also take front oil pump off and check impeller and screens for debris... Until today, I never knew you should replace creamic swashers on the supercharger with metal ones... not having very good luck with engines...
  8. "when I called the Suicide Hotline, I got a call center in Pakistan. When I told them I was suicidal, they got all excited and asked if I could drive a truck." Now thats bad!
  9. bryan52577 "So "regular" is all I put in now (if I have a choice)." If you search this site there is a list of no ethanol gas stations by state... or You could go to the local airport.... wil be expensive though...
  10. The nice thing about a second gen is the windshield will break kite or fishing string without any problem... don't know about the plastic wrap...it should, if only one thickness but who knows... No worries...
  11. 2005 650 V Star 25,000 miles 87 octane since new and no problems. Normally get 48 mpg On trip out west went down to 34 mpg? so I switched to 92? octane and mpg improved... As for the battery, have him charge at 1.5 amps for 24 hours and the battery will be as good as its gonna get. If it's fully charged they don't take much to hold charge. check to ensure it's charging at or above 14 volts when running.
  12. It's all good. I'm glad you and your son are ok. The bike can be replaced. Your title says it all..."It's not if, but when..." no truer words have been spoken. That's why it's so important to "Hope for the best but Plan for the worst"...
  13. I'v done a few cross countrys (+ 2500 miles "one way")... Make sure your tires will make the entire trip.(or, you'll be at the mercy of stealerships) Change your oil and filter every 3000 miles. Either have a yamaha shop do it, or, do like me, I buy a cheap throwaway low plastic oil container at Advance Auto. That way you can dump your used motor oil off at Advance as most recycle it.. (take your oil and oil filter along). Other than that, check the tires oil & coolant religiously. (Especially important if you hit an object on the road, pull over immediately and check!)
  14. Mel "Well-l-l-l, now I'm confused. Where in the heck is Daytona, Ohio??? Or do you mean it runs from Florida into Ohio? " You'se guys are killing me... that would be DAYTON, OHIO ... I corrected in origional post... Thanks...
  15. Rick Hayward "Wish I had known you were in Minonk today I live about 20 minutes from there, You could have bought me lunch:beer:. Also Ohio Interstate 35? Iam not familiar with an I-35 in Ohio. Doesn't it rum from MN to South texas" Lunch would have been great but I was on a tight schedule. Left at 5:30 in the morning to pick up my 2000 2500 4x4 truck that blew up on way back from Cody International. Uptrings in Minonk did the work and I wish to extend a Hats off to Greg and Terry. They put in a new Gm motor along with water pump, thermostat, belt tensioner , plugs, wires, catalytic converters, clutch pressure plate and throw out bearing... $6300.00 in all, but I looked this morning no leaks, no check engine light, I'm a happy camper. The truck was 11 years old with 65000 miles. Mechanic said it started with coolant leak into one of the cylinder s that caused it to dump unburnt fuel into the cats therby causing the engine to overheat... Oh well 6300 is better that +30,000 for a new one I-35?, my mistake, Ohio "fully controlled access 35" is actually 1 step below interstate? hum..., it runs diagonally from Dayton to Gallipolis. Was a very good road for a bike and it helped me avoid the Columbus Ohio crowd...
  16. Do you ever wonder why cagers precieve us as the enemy and vice versa? Saw some real loosers today on my way baack from Minonk, Il. One was within a foot of my motorcycle trailer bumper, on the left, going 74 mph, in the left lane with both lanes full and backed up. Guess he was trying to show me he was there and really really really wanted to pass...Stupid moron... all it would have taken was for me to take my foot off of the accelerator and he'd of crashed, burned and gotten run over like a deer... made me nervous as heck just waiting for someone in front of me to tap their brakes to start the event in motion... MORON! While we're on the subject of morons... guess who i saw riding a wheelie down Ohio Interstate 35? You guessed it ... a moron on a Green crotch rocket, looked to be about my age and was going about 55-60, without so much as even a helmet on his egg shaped head... Where do these idiots come from? Rant off... Time for a beer...
  17. Doesn't the snow start flying on the 14th in WI? So you lost 1 day... LOL Good luck with the surgery... make sure you do the exercises in rehab and at home, you will heal quicker. My wife had frozen shoulder and it took her about a year to get it straightened out without surgery... Seems when you have an injury of that type you should exercise/streech the shoulder instead of placing in a sling for a month.. I still get angry thinking about it... what a Quack!
  18. Huh?... What?... I'm so confused...
  19. +1 on that!
  20. Might also wantto look up: Grenvilles in the Adirondack region it's still on the move...
  21. My wife has a 250 Vstar and is perfectly happy with it.. top speed is 70 mph but she doesn't do the interstates anyway. Was hoping she'd want my 650 vstar but thats not going to happen. A crusier between 250 to 650 is what id get her because of insurance and weight. Wind reaks havock with the small lightweight bikes. Theres a reason most MSC use 250cc bikes. Closer to 250 would be better to learn on, after a year she'd be ready to move up... I did most of my street learning on a brand new 175 yamaha enduro... Waaaaah hoo! i love that bike...
  22. "But then again being norwegian, maybe i'm not smart enough to figure that out. " "Remember,to argue, whatever the topic, a person has to have a narrow mind. An argument is basically trying to force your opinion on another narrow minded person. I'm glad my mind isnt that narrow. My folks taught me years ago to treat people as I would like to be treated myself. That includes talking down at somebody. Which I try not to do. I guess some people should've had my folks as parents. It all boils down to respect." Then again, Maybe, your just smarter than people that think they can change anothers views on Religion, Politics etc... so on and so forth. Tolerance, Respect and being Considerate of others, are fast dissappearing...
