I just experienced this on my trip to Colorado. I even stopped at a Yamaha dealership (bad experience). I ended up taking all the air out of the forks(both sides) and all was well after that. I had 4 pounds in at the time. I believe that caused my wobble. I also run an E3 on the front. Brian

I bought my front Elite 3 from Jake Wilson, and it turned out to be 3.5 years old. In talking to their customer service people, they explained that the manufacturer have assured them there are no issues with tires that old, if kept in a climate controlled warehouse, which they have. I was not very comfortable with that, but talked to my tire guy and decided to install it, but we realized that the beads of the tire were within an inch of each other, and getting to set that bead was going to be a problem. To make a long story endless... We got it on finally, but took some "engineering". So far I have about 1000 miles on it and no issues. It made a big difference from the original Bridgestone. I'll be putting on about 2000 miles in the next two weeks, and hopefully will see no ill effects due to the age of the tire. Brian

Bike lift help....
exrsa1 replied to FuzzyRSTD's topic in Royal Star and Royal Star Tour Deluxe Tech Talk
It's not mine. It's one I saw when I was looking to buy a lift. It's a guy from over on a Harley site. He details the whole install in a thread. Very well done by him. I will see if I can find the forum. It's an electric over hydraulic. Brian -

Bike lift help....

I never ride up on the lift. I push it up, mostly with help from kid or neighbor. I lean it towards me, where I can handle it and then take a strong walk at it. Once up, I either balance it, and tighten the front wheel down, or helper tightens it down. Oh yeah, the ideal thing is to 'countersink' that lift into your garage floor so it sits level with the floor and you can ride it on with no help needed.. Brian -
If momma is not happy, then changes will happen. I'm in the same boat as you. I'm going to do a 10 day trip in two weeks. After that I will decide what to do. If I am going to change, I will most likely have a seat built by RUSSELL . I've heard very good reviews on the seats. Brian

Interesting to read that your wife says she slips around on it more. That is exactly what my tailgunner is reporting, and I figured it would get better with more miles, but after a few thousand miles, that still has not happened. It may be in the design of the seat though. The Mustang seat was wider and less slanted forward. I too have the driver's backrest, and that helps me a lot. My seat has the star stitched in and I'm looking for a used, in good condition, passenger trunkrest to match the seat. Brian

It will be like sitting on an English saddle. Firm but comfy. Brian

Yeah, Wahoo.... but that is the fun of it all. Off the beaten track places and towns. Anytime you head this way, hit me up. Brian

Those trips are the best. Did exactly that last weekend. Our planned trip did not work out, so Sunday morning I pointed it north and west out of Kansas City and ended up in your neck of the woods, in Wahoo, Nebraska for the night. Monday I fought some of the worst wind gusts I have ever had on a motorcycle, but ended up being a 561 mile ride. When I purchased my 05RSV in Florida, I made one reservation, and that was for the first night. We flew in and after that we spent 10 days on the road, finding little Ma and Pa places to stay at, and we had a blast. We'll be leaving the 18th heading to Colorado area, and doing the same for our lodging arrangements. It's a fun way to travel, with no set place to be at a certain time. Good luck and safe travels Brian

They are just not toned low enough for me. Kinda hard to explain. The pitch is higher at speed than I like. It's like a straight piped V8 with 1 1/2" pipes. Sounds good at idle, but when you get on it, it is a pitch that makes me ease up on the throttle. I am going to repack them first and see how they do.

I have a set on my RSV. They are not a deep rumble. Maybe when new, but after 10K miles, they have a higher tone, and I am looking for replacements. I may try to repack them first, but too loud/crisp for my liking. They sound good at idle, but cruising speed they get to me, and my hearing is not too good. Do a search on youtube. I believe I saw a vid of someone with them on. Brian

Sounds like a great trip. You sure sound like you are well prepared. Good luck, safe travels, and if you find yourself in or near Kansas City, feel free to contact me for any assistance. My numbers are in the VR assistance file. Brian

Looking for an audio system
exrsa1 replied to jteller1's topic in Royal Star and Royal Star Tour Deluxe Tech Talk
I had a www.cyclesounds.com system on my Vstar. It had good quality sound. They do have show specials every now and then. Brian -
Phoneman, we have a plastics dealer in town here and they sell anything from 4X8 sheets to small pieces of various materials. They have a 'scrap' bin where I buy pieces of scrap of whatever I need. Maybe you have the same supplier type store there. Brian

My order and subsequent PM's with you were on the other thread. Do you have the orders from that thread too? Thanks Brian

Does it go to his outbox, and just sit there? Does it show up in his 'Sent' folder? Ex

I have two of these mounts. The are nicely done and have a small footprint. The guy is great to deal with. MOTO-MOUNT

Keemex is right. You probably have a low pressure pickup. There are low pressure and high pressure side pick-ups. With the high pressure side pick up, you can blast whatever cleaner/solvent you are applying. Ex
