Does your headlight "modulate"?
-
Yes, I believe it was the original owner that had it for sale. It was not a dealership that I was dealing with. I replied to your PM, but yes, it was an individual. He must have traded it in.

There are a few members in St Charles, MO, closer to you there. In fact one of them is hosting a meet and eat down in Eureka Springs, Ar. the weekend of June 24th/25th. His name on here is Snarley Bill. I like your new bike. I actually bid on it a few times and corresponded with the seller and we got very close to a deal one time. He was just out side of my 'play' money that I wanted to spend on a bike. Brian

Is the company SPORTMAX that provided VMAX parts still around? I can't seem to get to their website. This is the outfit that Freebird got his VMAX rear end from. Anyone know? Brian

Sarasota, Florida - Anyone want to host a Maintenance day in March?
exrsa1 replied to exrsa1's topic in Watering Hole
Thanks for the replies. We plan to head down on March 25th, getting the bike picked up, and then going from there. Terrie is fine with a day or so of laying on a beach or next to a pool, since we have had a hard winter here. I will spend that first day or two, getting to know the bike, and then getting with whomever I can to get my work done on it. Tufftom4, I will for sure keep that in mind. I have no schedule at this time, so riding to your side of the state might be an option. Kregerdoodle, you Texas boys are always ready to help. Thanks! Sandbagger, I saw your thread and will for sure be there for a Kansas City maintenance day. Looks like we are going to just miss each other down there! Midnight V-4, thanks for the offer as well. I'm in the planning stages and will firm up my plans in the next week or so. Again, thanks so much! I look forward to meeting some new friends. Brian -
Gentlemen/Ladies... A month or so ago I purchased a new to me '05 RSV down in New Port Richey, in the lovely state of Florida, and with some planning and a great seller, the bike was moved into a garage of a co worker of mine, who is retired down in Sarasota. It's sitting in a nice carpeted garage, under cover on the battery tender, full of premium gas and Stabil. The plan is to fly down at the end of March and ride back to Missouri, accompanied by my lovely tailgunner Terrie, following the gulf all the way to New Orleans, then heading north to Kansas City, over a 7 day period. This is all dependent on the weather! Well, to make my long story endless..... I would like to go over/service the bike, install some leveling links, crashbar supports, my Garmin 660 with the Buddyrich cable, and perhaps a new F4 windshield before I depart from there, and wondered if anyone in Sarasota or surrounding areas, would be able to help, by way of a garage and/or wrenches, in getting this work done, before I head back. I work on all my vehicles/ bikes myself, but have never worked on a RSV. Splitting the fairing would be the first lesson. The leveling links, well that is just wrenching. Just need a jack. I can swing wrenches, but where the bike is sitting, there are no wrenches, and hauling everything I may need is not sounding like a good idea to me, since with my luck I may need something specific, and can't get around down there with the bike apart. What say ye? Anyone want to meet a crazy ex South African, now Missourian? Maybe a little meet and greet/eat. I would appreciate any/all the help I can get. Thanks Brian

We were up there in 2008, the last week of September, and first week of October. If you are going to be there that time of year, make sure you go to Custer State Park on Monday September 26, 2011. That is the annual "buffalo round-up" when they bring all the buffalo in from the whole park to brand, vaccinate, sell and such. It is a spectacular event! There will be thousands of people attending so go early. The towns around Custer will be shut down on that day. Lots of places are shut down that time of year for winter already, but all the big toursit places are still open, and hotel prices are very reasonable. Check out this link: BUFFALO The weather was great, with cool evenings, and very nice warm sunny days.

I'd for sure be up for it. Keep me posted or let me know if I can help. I'm up in Parkville, MO. Brian

Nicely done! Are you planning on making the trunk fit back on there again. I am looking to make mine a quick detach, so I can have the RSTD back, or solo or put the trunk back on when heading out on a long run. Thanks Ex

I've had one of those for about 10 years now. I have had it recalibrated twice, and once it had to be rebuilt due to my own doing. It is not covered under the Craftsman lifetime warranty, since it is "digital". All in all a good hobby mechanic's wrench. I bought a inch/pound MAC tools torque wrench off craigslist, and took it to the mac's truck, when I saw it at the local workshop, and got it back calibrated, serviced, cleaned. It's an obvious better choice for a more serious user. Ex

The DOLE pineapple place is worth seeing too. The others are already mentioned. Enjoy your trip!

The work is fantastic. Any idea what the cost is for this work?

The one you show in your post, plugs into a 12V outlet or a cigarette lighter. Check out www.burnsmoto.com. They have a USB plug that you can hardwire and mount anywhere you want, as well as every electrical connector you could ever want.
