  1. Measurments are just a hair larger than 1 1/8 inch square?
  2. Here's the cockpit of the trike....where the heck will the GPS go?? The air adjust for the trike is the square black "thing" on the left--and it's hogging all the room http://i980.photobucket.com/albums/ae282/AussieAnnie888/2011%20HD%20trike/IMGP0923.jpg
  3. Hi all, Building a tag along, and noticed that when spinning the wheels, there is a pronounced "wobble" in the wheels. Took the hubs out, re packed bearings, re installed, seated bearings, and still have the wobble. There is no movement in the bearing/hub... Placed a square along the axle with some gap between tore and square.... On rotation, a portion of tire till contact square, and then not. This happens on both sides of the axle, both wheels. Any sugestions. I am in the king of Prussia pa area.
  4. There are some roads / routes that are like comfort food, we ride them again and again and they never really get old, or stale but more beloved for the familiarity we gain with them. As I sit here this morning, prepping to run one of my favorite routes, again, I thought I would write it out for any of the local folks who wanted to give it a go. Get thee, first, to Winder in Barrow County and head south on GA 11 (not business 11)... through Bethlehem,Monroe, and Social Circle and then south of I20 begins some of the nicest "horse" country that GA has to offer, ranches and plantations on both sides of the road. Not twisty, but rolling with occasional sweepers and long views of the fields, farmhouses and giant oak trees that guard them. Down to Monticello and through that lovely old square where 11 changes her nature and becomes more twisty as she follows the railroad tracks from Monticello through Hillsboro, Round Oak, and Wayside (a good place to pause for a moment) to Gray, GA. Turn left on GA 22 and make the 4 lane run to Milledgeville and just before 441, turn left on GA 212. which takes one through lake country and rolls through the Oconee national forest back to Monticello and back through that square on 212 to the Dairy Queen next to the Monticello inn for a break (and maybe a cone). 212 then through Jackson and into Covington (where I pick up 81 back to Loganville, and then 78 or 20 to home, or hit some little back roads) A figure 8 ride, allowing one to almost complete the square in Monticello.
  5. Its time to replace the cheap driving lights that I put on 5 years ago. I'd like to stay consistent with the square headlight but don't know if anyone makes them square now. Anybody know of some good quality square driving lights that would look gook on a 1st gen? Iowa Guy
  6. If you happen to notice a wobble in a high speed turn, one you lay into, I found a long time ago that running too many miles in a straight line [along with a little throttle up and braking] will square off your tire leaving a lip that you wobble over in a turn, so your constantly fitting this square edge in a corner. just a thought
  7. Please study and practice before arriving. [ame=http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=TnsgrXC2fAU]YouTube- How to make one square of toilet paper work[/ame]
  8. Well i went and done it. I pulled the clutch cover and removed seven friction plates. It appears that the last plate and disc are held in by some sort of retaining ring does anyone know how to remove them. Also i thought i was paying closer attention but i noticed one friction plate has a single square mark instead of the two circular notches like the rest. If any one knows where its supossed to be located this would be helpful. Any help would be great as i only want to pull it once and do it right the first time.
  9. I would like to replace the walls on my little camper that I pull behind the bike. It is a Travelite, I believe, and I think they are no longer in business. I probably need about 12 square yards. Any suggestions on what would work good and where I could get some material? RandyA
  10. Just a thought that occurs. One of the American tyre companies bought Avon a year or two back. I'm given to understand that it was because of their capacity for short order specialist runs. Maybe we should work out a specification for a square profile for a first gen and ask how much it would cost for a hundred - how many takers would we have ?
  11. what the make of this hitch is on the '91?? I've tried to ID but so far haven't come up with anything positive... I'm not worried about the square stock add-on underneath, but the post, and what fits it. I thought it might be a Bushtec, but can't be positive.
  12. My '89 VR & trailer have matching 5 pin square connectors for the trailer wiring. My '06 RSV also came with a 5 pin square connector. The problem is the '06 RSV & trailer are both male plugs. So I thought I'd just buy a new set & replace the male plug on the RSV with a female plug, like the VR has, and then the trailer would work on either bike. But where the heck do you find these plugs? I've looked at all the auto parts stores & on the net and can't find them anywhere. Can't find something on the internet...?...what's up with that?! I could go with a 6 pin and just not use the last pin (trailer brakes), but then I'd probably have to swap out 3 sets of plugs to get everything to be able to connect together. But after searching with no luck I'm starting to think I should do just that...for some reason the 5 pin square plugs seem to be top secret or something! Anyone know where I can find them?
  13. I have a 89 VR and would like to put some fresh speakers up front. What shape are they and what size also, I just want something plug and play. Any suggestions on what to put in would be great! A co- worker told me he has a pair of 3" (square) Pioneers, Would these fit? Thanks Ron
  14. The PO welded a piece of 1.5"ID square stock to the bottom of the Bustec hitch on the '91. The square measures 2" on the outside. I can't find a ball mount anywhere. One of the local stores did give me a 1 3/16" drawbar because they didn't even have it listed in inventory.... and it was around christmas... , but it's pretty sloppy, and is designed to fit into a 1.25" receiver. I've been all over the internet trying to find something, but so far nada.... So.... do they even make a 1.5" receiver?? I guess the options I have would be:
