  1. Looks stock to me. As opposed to fully dressed. No passing lights, trunk rack, bag rails, back rest, rear light bar or pegs. Might want to check classifieds here for full dress rides. All those extras can get expensive when you go to adding. And you will add.
  2. Dealer tried spraying the contacts, didn't help. Was locking up randomly. Replaced under warranty. Seem it is common issue. Had no problems with new unit.
  3. Mama - you were ok with the helmet question, but now you are starting to meddle. Going to get me in trouble.
  4. Hey Brian, sorry I have been out of town. Hoon makes Roady Holders for different bikes. The standard black is what you need ( not the harley or bmw). Mounted mine on right as radio control unit on left would interfeere with roady. I also purchased the rain bonnet and just leave it on most of the time. The Hoon electrical hardware will not work for the roady II (wrong voltage) . If you want to wire direct a quick trip to radio shack will do the job. Do a search under forum and you will find great instructions. You'll love the Roady.
  5. hoon mount Good product easy install good people it's a no brainer:Venture:
  6. Hang in there Minni. Glad he is doing good. For your info our son soloed yesterday.
  7. Don nails it - clutch basket. And yes it can drive a man nuts. Can even be embarrassing. But don't get disgusted yet. I did the I basket change (07 RSV). For a time it seemed to be fixed, but then returned. However, not nearly as loud and at a different RPM (3rd gear around 35 -40). Run synthetic oil. Have tried 5 -40 and 1040. Not sure weight mattered. Members have used several different brands. Then added motorkote. Hmm. Some swear by it and others feel no help. Well I still hear the chirp from time to time but not annoying. And I can hear my stock pipes unlike I could ever hear them before. A year ago I was ready to let her go (shortly after I purchased) but today I must say I love this bike. Most recently added a bit of motorkote to the final drive. A little tweaking here and a little tweaking there. Just keeps getting better. I don't think you can get rid of the chirp all together, but I rarely ever notice it today. Just read the post and keep tweaking. Dealer should change basket under warranty without any problems. Let us know how you come out.
  8. Google Roady Holder. They offer a great holder for your unit and some good wiring info is available. The Roady II is an older model, very dependable and can be purchased used and inexpensive on ebay. xm
  9. Welcome Dutch. You have found a great site indeed. Best advice and best of help. Great bunch. I purchased my 07 last July. Know exactly where you are at. So I'll share a little. 1. Purchased a good pair riding boots. Made me a little longer. lol Helped a lot. Inseam is 29 inches. 2. Got rid of the Dunlop 404s. Purchased Avons with the smaller front tire. Without a doubt this is the single best improvement I have made. Bike handles completely different at slow speed. I run 50 rear and 40 front as per tire instructions. Also ride 2 up most of the time. 3. Installed a Utopia backrest. Took some tweaking but I finally found the sweet spot. Supports the back but most importantly it removes the slouch. Shortens the stetch to the bars and actually makes me a little longer. Because it forces me to set up straight. 4. Wednesday I installed the Barons risers. Moves the bars up and back. Oh yeah. Again the bike handles considerably different. Have put 400 mile on yesterday and today. Still need to do a little tweaking to get the height just right. 5. Today Rick Butler rebuilt my seat. 200 mile in the new seat. Feet may be a little closer to the road as a result. For sure more comfortable. I have put off lowering the front. Those who have rave about it. But I wanted to try these other mods first. Time will tell. Oh yes, I did purchase the Ride Like a Pro Video. It's good. Really enjoy fitting the bike to me. Just keeps getting better. It will for you too. Take your time and enjoy the ride. It's a great bike. But your greatest change will come with the:12101: tires.
  10. Takes some tweaking for sure. And a little getting used too. I had 2 more holes drilled in mine so I could lower it a little more. Had the frame mount bent back a bit, thus moving the rest back ( can't bend it much - but a little here makes a big difference) Now it's nearly perfect and I think I'm going to love it. Stay with it - keep tweaking - and you will find the sweet spot.
  11. Have you tried Novus 1 cleaner and polisher. 8oz $6 from Clearview Shields. Might find local and save the postage. Novus 2 and 3 for scratches also available. Pretty good stuff. 7 oz of Plexus is $11 from our local shop. I like Pledge for the rest of the bike.
  12. Welcome Rag, I am 5' 9" And was also a little tippy toed. Few things you can do to help this. 1- Buy a good set of riding boots with thick soles. Will help you get flat footed at stops. 2-I purchased a smaller tire for the front. Huge difference in slow speed operation. Research tires on forum. 3- They say that Rick Butlers seat rebuild helps with height and other issues. I look forward to having this done. 4-Back rest helps me to sit up straighter and that helps the issue. 5- Could consider lowering the front end. You can find more on all these suggestions simply by researching the forum. Enjoy the ride. They are a great bike.
  13. They move the bars up and back so us shorter armed fellows don't have to reach so far. Lessens the back and sholder pain.
  14. Like my Utopia too, but had to drill two more holes in it in order to lower it some more. Now it fits in the small of my back and doesn't seem to push me forward. Does take a little tweaking and getting used too,bit is a great mod.
  15. Ordered my Baron risers yesterday. Some have talked on here about them hitting at the switch but said it was not a problem with tight turns. Will come around and hit though when parking. I have the black stock piece rater than the chrome. I'll have to watch it. Have you been riding with them yet. I am anxious to see if it handles better and is more comfortable. Like what you did with the rubber dampers. Where did you get the parts. I'd like to purchase them for mine. Looks good.
  16. Purchased Baron risers for my 07 Blue today. Eager to get them and put them on. May have to weld them just to keep em on. Blue is real fast!!!
  17. Yep. Mine did the same thing. 07RSV. Dealer fixed under warranty, no questions asked. Seems to be fine now. Had it fixed last summer. Good luck.
  18. Ohhhhhhhhhhhhh - you gonna like Ky. Green - Hills - Curves. Cooler I might add. Head over to Tenn and NC. Ride the Blue Ridge Pkwy. You gonna like Ky friend.
  19. Hmmm, I'll have to go down stairs and measure that one. Not sure the size. Think they offer three sizes and it is the middle one. Where do you live?
  20. Well good grief! Had my summer all planned. Now I'm going to need to spend it checking out all these bikes. Should be a really greatttttttttt summer!
  21. Bubber, tell us more about the spacer. Seen one in a picture here on the forum. Would make taking things apart in the future a little easier. Where can we get them. Thanks
  22. Ok it is time to get wired. Xm radio install (split the fairing etc) should be a breez thanks to all of you. Hope to have accomplished yet this week. Micmutes not ordered yet but install should be easy. Again thanks to all of you. Great pics and instructions. Then there is this whole gps thing. I have been searching the forum and frankly I am lost. Whats the best install? Xm and gps via splitter? Not sure I am capable of listening to both at same time. (I like my Roady.) Gps via Intercom? How would that work with micmutes? Micmutes a must. I don't like amplifying the engine and road noise. Have a Lowrance GPS purchased from the sporting goods dept at Walmart. Supposed to be water resistant. Has an earplug port. Just not sure how to utilize it with our headsets. May be I am just in overload here. Afterall I purchased the scoot to get away. Do I really want to know where I am? By the way, I am not intrested in wiring up the phone. Would defeat the whole purpose!!!!!!!!! Thanks in advance. This is one teriffic site!
  23. Might be easier for all of us if they just didn't slant them to start with. But then we wouldn't have anything to discuss would we?
  24. Jake wilson offers $10 coupon and avon offers $25 rebate on each tire. Wilson also does free freight. Got mine today.
  25. go to avon tire and get coupon 25 per tire I think good through may
