  7. WOW! I can't imagine a better value. Buy, sell, trade, chat, share and access to volumes of technical information. And you get it all for only $12/year. Only $1/month. Less than the price of a cup of coffee. (And that's before the tip!) I'd sure hate to lose all this site has to offer over a mere buck. How about you? What do you think?
  8. Count me in for 2 of the original and 2 of the new if they work out. Thanks! Come up with one that chirps and whines and I'll buy some of them too!!!!!!!!!!
  9. May be not maybe. Heard not heared. My I do need to slow down and edit. lol Thanks again for all the info on motorkote and oil. Great forum!
  10. Hmm! Really intrested in what you find out. I did the oil change adding rotella 5w40 and ran it for a week or so with some improvement. Level was at half glass or better. I then added 7oz of motorkote and the noise increased. At this point sight glass was full. I decided to drain some of the oil but was puzzeled. Would I be draining oil or motorkoe or both? So carefully and with clean oil pan I drained it all (did not drain filter however). If the kote and the oil doesen't mix you couldn't prove it by me. ( Note: engine was very warm and draining oil was very thin.) Could not see anything that didn't just look like oil. I then put that same oil back into bike, filling it to half sight glass. I have traveled about 200 mile with it and the noise level is lower than ever before. Maybe that draining to half sight glass helped. ( believe it is the best place to be) Maybe that more miles have helped. May well be that both helped. Still have some chrip and some whine but much improved. Heared my pipes throughout the last ride. Quite an accomplishment for someone who at first never heard his pipes. Will still be intrested in the motorkote answer. (Does it mix with oil?) THANKS
  11. I added the motorkote today after having already installed the I basket and having added the Rotella 5w40. So far so good as I am experiencing some improvement. Eager to get some miles on it to see if there is continued improvement. All in all the bike is much quieter than before. And it may be at this point that I am just too focused on the noise. Riding with leadwolfe this weekend and will see how it does. Will let you know.
  12. go to classifieds standard and with legs you will want the legs
  13. OK, here's the update as promised. Week before last the dealer installed the new I basket. Definite improvement as I could now hear the pipes. Beginning to sound like a motor cycle. Step 1. Step 2 - Yesterday I changed the oil and filter. I used the Rotell 5w40. Have only been able to ride about 40 miles. Improvement - yes. Not near the improvement made with the I basket, but still an improvement. I'll be riding some tomorrow and will be eager to really analyze it. Any improvement is a plus. I can hear the pipes, the wind and the neighbors dog chasing after me. lol. Really beginning to enjoy my bike. Step 3 - Ordered the motorkote last night. Took freezyriders bike for a ride last weekend. Sounded good. Eager to hear mine sounding so good. There may be a step 4 in my future. Eager to learn more about the moly lube. Thanks for a great thread. Barry
  14. Well that was fast. Hope the oil chg is that easy. haha I'm going to get the map out and see where monroe is. Those folks are quick. Thanks Joe
  15. Bear with me as this is my first post. Thanks to everyone for this thread. I am the proud owner of one screaming machine. New I Basket was installed this past week. Absolutely no hassel from dlr or Yamaha. Not a complete cure but a definite improvement. Especially at lower speeds. ( maybe 75% better) Higher speeds may have improved by 10-15%. I can actually hear the pipes now. Wow! Step 2 will be an oil change. Can't wait to try the Rotella 5w40 Syn. Thanks Joe for this info. Could use some oil filter direction. This will be my first do it yourself oil chg. Step 3 will be to try the MotorKote. But only after I have run with the oil chg for awhile. Want to be able to appreciate and measure each chg. I ride an 07RSV. Purchased it in July and had the warranty transferred at that time. I must say that the dlr and yamaha have been great. Replace radio controller and trunk lid in addition to the above. Will keep you posted on step 2 and 3. Thanks again!
