  1. I, for one gave expecting nothing back so I think we should flip them. This site makes me so proud to be a member, that's payment enough. Just wish I coulda been at the tat thingy.
  2. That MIGHT be a bit more than we get done there. What has developed has been that the "mechanical ones" show us "mechanically slow" ones how something is done and we do it ourselves. Otherwise, Don and Brad will be tied up well into the night synching carbs. If I remember correctly, when I installed my hitch, it took a while, but I'm sure some of us can help you out.
  3. This is just another step in your journey Sherry. I figured they would NOT want to go to trial on this. Just glad they realized they were dealing with a tough cookie. Still here for you hun.
  4. Probably was Farantelli, he's not too far from NYC. I had planned on riding in myself but am in school all week and couldn't get the day off.
  5. Siiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiigh I guess we'll just HAVE to go...................... hehehe Reservations made!!!!!!!!! The reservation lady said she can't believe how many are calling for reservations 7 months prior to the date hehehe:banana:
  6. Thanks for the update CIndy. My view on a plea bargain is that it might save H from having to testify, (but sometimes thats part of the healing for them). As long as it's not a stupidly lenient deal, I might consider it, you never know what these juries will do. Still thinking of you guys often.
  7. Best solution for me was the lower windshield that I can look over in the rain. I have a flip down visor that I snap onto my helmet if it looks like rain just to keep the rain off my face.
  8. Looking forward to meeting you Jonas, many of us stay that the Oberlin Inn which is very close to Don's. If I remember correctly, the rate was about $90 - $95. We will most likely be going up later Thursday or Friday, we'll be making reservations as soon as the date is set.
  9. Thanks for the update Sherry, remember we're here for you. I'm sure they will make an offer before the trial starts. If what you're saying is true and the pictures show the skid marks, they're toast and they know it.
  10. Great idea!! But we have nothing out here....2 or 3 mile stretches of backroad that go nowhere, so I'll just steal all of you guys' rides.
  11. IF everything happened as you say, and I have no reason to doubt you, then this guyneeds to be addressed by his superiors. It makes all of us LEOs look bad. I, for one, have never taken personal matters to work. I HAVE written summonses, or arrested people who I may have had issues with in the past, but many times, when I have stopped someone I don't particularly like, or have done something to me or my family in the past, I might give them a break (if the offense is minor enough). Kinda gives me the one up on them if you know what I mean. In those cases, I know they will do something similar again and one of my co-workers will get them. Of course, when an arrest or ticket is warranted, I will absolutely do what I have to do...I just MIGHT enjoy it a little more.

I'll be doing what Don's doing, then working 4-12..........fun huh??
  13. Regular glutton for punishment aint ya?? If you have that much free time, it tells me that we're not keeping you busy enough. heehee If that isn't too far gone, it looks like a fun project though. And if it's worth 9500 restored?? YIPPEEEEEEEEEEE!!!!!!!!
  14. Don, Having been here a while and being opinionated as I am, I don't think this would be a positive move. As others have said, this would lead to cliques, it's not anyone's fault, it's just human nature. If I see a thread starting that I'm not interested in, I don't read it, plain and simple. So people who want to post about music or whatever should just post it and we can either read it or ignore it. It's also alot more work for our moderators, IMO. I love this site just the way it is, I enjoy the banter, sometimes even the arguments. I don't think this would be necessary. But thats just me
  15. That is something I have always wanted to do, but it's definitely not in the picture til after retirement, kids' weddings etc. I would definitely be interested in doing at least part of it, meet you somewhere and bop around Maine. Keep us posted, you might not get people for the whole thing, but you might pick up stragglers for a few hundred (or thousand) miles.
  16. Not sure what it is where you guys live, but in NY, LEOs are trained as speed estimation experts. I have been trained to observe a vehicle, either coming at me or passing me and can estimate the speed at plus or minus 5 MPH. In fact, in NY, the Laser or RADAR is the backup for the issuing officer's eyeball estimate, (I have seen radar readings thrown out because the calibration paperwork was not properly presented yet the officers estimation stands) I personally continually check myself by looking at the oncoming traffic, estimating the speed and THEN activate the Laser or RADAR. I'm usually within 3 mph. I would guess that this officer was moving along at the speed limit or a little more. The fact that someone is catching up to him is suspicion enough to pull him or her over. In fact, a speeding summonses simply written for "55+" has held up in court. As for passing on the right, you're not supposed to, but if someone is loping along at below the speed limit, I personally pass them all the time.
  17. WOW..................tough crowd early in the morning. tough...........but funny:256:

  19. if you use the bracket from CarbonOne (on this site), it mounts really tight to the engine.
  20. Kinda makes me wonder what I would have done had it been me. I like to think I would have done the same. Thanks Lou
  21. Our group tries to ride every year on New Year's Day. If I'm not working, and its not snowy or icy, we do about 100 miles.worst day was 19 degrees

  25. Coming up the Garden State Pkwy in NJ this year, had to slow down, felt something hard slide up my back. Leaned back and asked my wife "what the heck was that?" It was her book, she read 5 chapters on the trip home that day. Nevr had a quieter ride with her hehehe
