The things you find when you buy used...

Look for one for a Honda, Toyota, or Nisson. Wally World has them for around $15... -
Better to eat the moon than shoot the moon, I suppose...

Yup! Got them on my 2nd gen but they would work just as well on the 1st gen! I use mine exactly as Wizard765 descdribes it! -
Yup! So far it's fairly warm here but this weekend is going to be really crappy. Doesn't matter, we will be away in Michigan for the weekend...

The issue is not cornering, the issue is to bend or not bend up your bike hitch should you ever accidently drop it with the trailer hitched up to the bike... -

Time to upgrade to LED trailer lights like the piggybackers have! Mike, one suggestion with the hitch. Switch to a swivel hitch, they run about $80 and well worth the cost!!! If you accidently drop your bike it will save your hitch, and if the trailer ever goes over you won't... -
Oh man, is this thread going to get Big Tom excited or what?!!?

My floor is painted as well and I don't find the jack or tires doing any more damage than every day wear and tear...

Looks great Mike! Tire pressure will depend on how much a load you have in the trailer. I normally run around 30 psi myself, found 50 psi to be just a tad bouncy when empty. Youwant a fair amount of pressdure to avoid a mushy drag on the bike but you have to be really low for thast to happen. My Piggy Backer uses basically the same trailer but with torsion bar independant suspension and 10" (or is it 12") wheels. I was aprehensive the first time I trailered with a bike but very soon forgot that it was behind me. Found out the hard way the trailer is just a tad wider than the bike but no ill effects other than a slight scrape on the fender...

Good Morning faithful readers (both of you!) and welcome to today's episode of As The Wheels Turn brought to you today by the new energy drink Seafoam, it's not just for engines anymore! When we last left Bongo Bob, he was in quite the quandry trying to figure out his next move in a difficult situation. Shoiuld he face possible imprisonment or possible death?? Decisions, decisions! As the crowd watched in utter disbelief at the site of a police dog acting in such a peculiar way, Bongo decided to take advantage of the situation and said to Sal, "I will distract the policeman while you fetch the contents of the locker. Watch this!" "Hey, aren't you a member of the British rock group The WHO?" he says loudly. You look like that bass player. Everybody immediately looks at Dogman who imediately recognizes the only person to ever notice the vague resemblence. Before Dogman can say a word Bongo gives him the "shhhhh" sign and comes closer. I want your autograph!! Several people immediately begin searching for a piece of paper and flock to the two who are now next to each other. Dogman, how would you like to set yourself up for a big promotion? I think we can top the French Connection with a big drug bust! Help me get across the border with a large shipment of some new king of drug and we can follow it to it's destination and set up an international sting with survelance operations! Sure thing Bongo, Chubby Checker lives close by, and he can give you a lift down to Evan's place where we can arrange for a speed boat to pick you up on the water front. OK says Bongo, I know just the place where we can dock in the states close to another Venturerider who lives on the lake near Rochester. He can call Big Tom who can get us cooperation with the local authorities and start the stateside efforts. Will Sal be unnoticed as he empties the storage locker? Will Dogman sign autographs? Is Evan home or at his cottage? Is anybody actually reading this stuff?? Stay tuned for tomorrow's installment of As The Wheels Turn where we will hear Yama Mama scream "Yes, Yes!! Search me again and again!!!"

If the antennas are switched you will damage the CB when you transmit, due to a huge mismatch of the antenna "load" on the transmitter. It produces what is known as a Standing Wave Ratio or SWR that ends up sending the transmitted power right back into the transmitter and blows up the circuitry...

bongobobny replied to Peder_y2k's topic in Venture and Venture Royale Tech Talk ('83 - '93)
I believe it has to do with the compression ratio primarily. Yes the 1200's weere quicker than the 1300's...- 20 replies

Yup, the Hoppe. Basic 5 wire to 4 wire. They even make a nice powered one that has built in relays to isolate the trailer wiring from the bike wiring in case something shorts out in the trailer wiring, but all you need is an adaptor for foreign cars like Toyota, etc and should run you less than $20. The fancy one I was talking about goes for a little over $30...
