  1. Oh man Joe, we had him going....just when I was going to have him put me on the bank accounts
  2. James, Hard decision for sure, but I'm right with Kreg on throwing good money on bad. This isn't an easy bike to ride, you need a decent amount of experience as it can bite you very fast. Perhaps something lower to the ground, cruiser type could be a better fit. We all have our ailments and the Venture especially the 1st gen isn't forgiving on some of our body issues. I dont know about the repo portion, that just sets off bells and whistles with me the way it was presented to you. I KNOW they dont want your bike back, it's too old and they will never recoup their monies. I wish I was closer as we could shoot over there for a weekend and I know make it a whole lot better with minimal monies. Perhaps we can see if there is anyone close to you that you could bring it to or they could come over. Give it a little time and it will work out as it's supposed to.
  3. Cool Beans! Good on ya sister
  4. Well they let you stay in Ohio, guess they felt sorry for Eileen, poor poor gal
  5. Denial is the 1st stage, dont worry bud, were here to help you along in your golden years
  6. Indeed great news my friend, I know your probably going crazy to get the bike back from Earl
  7. Moose, dont sweat it, I have been caught by that myself a time or 2. You'll start looking at the dates more regularly, it still gets me every once in a while
  8. It's just you because your getting old, dont forget to take your Geritol
  9. Well.... The monkey man made it to the house last night just before midnight. He called me and I unlocked the door, let him in, welcomed him to his new home and went right back to bed. He and Lonna will be taking care of getting him set up and whatnot. Dan and Allan, thanks again for the hospitality to him
  10. Very Nice work, I'd definitely like to see that one in person
  11. Were always hopeful for you buddy
  12. I have run my 1st gens up to the 8K mark on numerous occasions, I dont like the factory rev limiter set where it's at on the G2. Your loosing well over 1000 useable rpms on the motor, and this bike WILL still pull good @ 8K, I will be getting the Dana 3K when this '99 is back on the road.
  13. Herb, There's only a few that can know the emotions you had, good on both you and your son/brother. Your relationship with him has taken a huge step forward, enjoy your "New" son. Glad you had a good trip....Semper Fi
  14. Well it's good to see that your back and picking up the slack for Redneck my friend, hopefully we'll see more of you here
  15. We really wanted to be there, but this work thing is really dampening our time to play as I ended up working Saturday. Pics are great and I'm glad y'all had a good time. We'll get hooked up with you folks soon
  16. Cool Beans!
  17. I got a PM from Eck and he mentioned about some strong storms so I thinks he's in the clear. Yazoo city took the biggest jit it seems like, y'all be safe over there.
  18. Brad.... All we do is look at the source where the noise is coming from and then we know not to pay attention to it
  19. Happy Anniversary Larry & Joyce!!!
  20. Just wanted to specify this is from an '86 so the first gen folks would know. I also switched the forum to help folks find it
  21. The reason for bearing buddies is ease of maintenance and not having to disassemble the hubs everytime. If you were getting grease all over the place you either had bad seals on the back, or were putting too much grease in them. They have rubber boots that go over the hub portion also
  22. Good story...but I would hate having Noah living next to me
  23. We'll keep he and the family in our thoughts, sorry to hear this Ben, it's a very hard thing to see someone leave.
  24. You ain't just whistling Dixie there, Michigan is in dire straits and it's only going to get worse. Were ready for you Dave, just bought a mattress for our (thats read Lonna and Mine) bed. So the spare room is waiting, and be ready to work, there's lots to do around the new digs See you in a few days and take your time coming down, enjoy the trip and stop to see things if they look interesting
  25. Just keep in kind that the tounge, from the axle to the tip should be atleast twice as long as the axle is wide. I have built several trailers from the Harbor Freight kits and they work great. Get the 12" wheels as the bearings wont spin as fast, and install bearing buddy's on the hubs. If you get into a spot cell #s in the profile, have fun with it
