I live in Tennessee, and our Yamaha stealer is closed on Monday, but always open on Tuesday. Glad you got home safe.

Monday morning, call 731-644-7432. That is the # to Pitbull Motorcycle lifts. They carry lots of new and used Harley parts. I was in there last week, and there were quite a few tanks hanging on the wall for sale. Patrick

Sorry you and the kids have to go thru this, but the hurt will pass with time. Hang in there, and help each other thru it.

Basic engine performance upgrade recomendations
Monty replied to goodwrench1's topic in General Tech Talk
You shoulda bought an '83, then you wouldn't be asking those questions. They are the fastest, ya know. -
Hey, at least you don't have to wear a MOPP suit!! Drink lotsa water, and be careful.

I do it while idling at a stop. It's just old habit from my racing days. I blip the throttle to keep the carbs from loading up. Also do it on downshifts too.

Jeff, Have a safe trip, and we'll see ya when ya get back home. Remember to send your addy, once you get settled in. Patrick

gaskets for collector
Monty replied to chocking's topic in Venture and Venture Royale Tech Talk ('83 - '93)
A friend of mine once mentioned that instead of using the copper sleeves, he just bought some copper wire, and made several TIGHT turns until it was about the same length as the original. He claimed it worked even better than the originals. I haven't tried it, so I can't say if it works or not, I am just giving ideas. -
Glad he's ok. Loosen the tree and see if it springs back. I had to do that to my sons' bike last month. I loosened it all up, and then wiggled it, and it all lined back up.

You can go to Lowe's or Home Depot(see my other post...lol), and get adhesive backed non-skid.

Good luck with the surgery. Don't try to recover too fast, let it heal up proper first. We'll be thinking of you here. Patrick

Left fork tube leak at dust cover.

I used a bolt with a 17mm head(or 11/16, I can't remember), and I just welded the threaded end into a piece of 1/2 inch square tubing. I made it about a foot long. Then, I just stick a half inch drive ratchet in one end. Works like a charm. -
I don't know. WD-40 has always just melted it right off.....hmmmm.

This one is even closer... http://i74.photobucket.com/albums/i274/13thAFMonterey/b6cd482db4412054.jpg

Glad to hear he's ok. Did the car stop?

Glad to hear he is improving! You gotta watch those Doctors. Several years back, my Grandmother was in the hospital, and they said she didn't have much time left, so we should see her before she goes. I drive up there (Owensboro, Ky), and when I see her, she doesn't even recognize me, she is in such bad shape. I talked to the Doctor, and he gave me one story, while the Nurse gave me a completely different story. I was very suspicious of the things they were telling me, so I called in the Ky State Police to investigate. Guess what? She miraculously recovered and went home 2 days later. She lived another 10 years after that. Turns out, they were drugging her to keep her in the hospital, and milk her Medicare for all they could get. I don't trust Doctors for squat. Glad to see he has a fighting spirit!

Yup, and it looks like the Hendersons were all parallel 4-cylinder engines. I don't believe it's a Henderson either...way too new.
