  1. Hope he heals up ok. Sounds like the other guy will be down for quite some time. I hope they both recover well, and she loses her license for a while. Probably fiddling with her cell phone.
  2. Mine is a 1983 Venture Standard with 59,500 miles, and I ride it almost daily. Only problem I have is the dreaded 2nd gear problem that the early 1st gens had.
  3. Maybe he's just a bike-o-chondriac.
  4. Myself, my wife, b2dad and Midnite all took a nice little ride today. Here are a few pics from our ferry ride... http://i74.photobucket.com/albums/i274/13thAFMonterey/1114091415a.jpg http://i74.photobucket.com/albums/i274/13thAFMonterey/1114091416a.jpg
  5. 55 here. Gonna be 77 today.
  6. Thank you and welcome back home. Salute!!
  7. Thanks Don! You never cease to amaze us with your generosity.
  8. You need to load the driver for your ethernet card, or if it is onboard, then you need the motherboard driver for it. Then internet will work. What brand/model PC do you have, or is it custom built?
  9. Since we have both clean and dirty people here.... and:buttkick:, How about we have a clean joke section, and a passworded "other" joke section. That way, children can never read the off-color jokes. Compromise and moderation are very healthy things.
  10. Sounds like the HDD might be going out, but I would try doing a Windows repair first, as it may have become corrupted.
  11. I am pretty sure Windows XP has voice recognition built in. I know I have trained it and used it on my computer. Didn't have to buy anything.
  12. I am proud to have you guys as neighbors...and allies!! Thanks for being by our side and fighting with us. Salute!
  13. Monty

    Thank You

If I hadn't gotten hurt and became disabled, I'd still be serving. Would have had 24 years in now....only 6 more to go. My sons are picking up where I left off.
  14. Thanks Eddie! A big thanks to all my Brothers and Sisters-in-Arms.
  15. I would tell you to try counting sheep....but all that did was make me horny.:rotf:
  16. Nope. In fact, I rode with my Dad today...and my Son. We all went to Applebees for our free Veterans' lunch. My Dad got me started riding before I was 10, and I did the same with my boys...they started at 5 years old on Yamaha PW50's. Al 4 of us ride, and now all 4 of us are Vets....Yes, I am a lucky Dad.
  17. Welcome Home Clay, and thank you!!!!
  18. A rectifier "rectifies" AC to DC. Your stator puts out an AC voltage, but everything on your bike runs off of DC. THe rectifier converts AC to DC, and the regulator tries to maintain a constant, workable voltage, by reducing or eliminating fluctuations. A parasitic drain is something which allows current flow even when the key is off. To look for this, place a test light or meter in series with the battery. Then, remove fuses one at a time until the light goes out. Most of the time, you can narrow the problem down to that one circuit.
  19. I have an '80 GS850 parts bike, and it still has the harness and rectifier on it. I don't know if the rectifier worked or not, but you are welcome to it. If you can, take a picture of where the wires were cut. See how many wires/what colors, etc... I belong to these sites. Tons of GS info here. www.thegsresources.com http://classicujm.forumakers.com/forum.htm
  20. They're the same way in chat...with pictures.
  21. 42 here. I'm still a young'n. Now, if I just felt that young......
  22. PM sent.
  23. OBD ports are mostly for fuel injected vehicles to check the computers' codes and input/output values from sensors.
  24. Some of those are actual pictures, but I think most are screenshots from a recent game. Look closely, and you can see. Games like "Grid" and the Gran Turismo series look like real when you play them.
  25. This is funny... [ame=http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=VH34xzIdY58&fmt=18]YouTube - Motorcycle Safety Ad[/ame] Probably not kid or work friendly.
