Living on the California Coast most of my life, I figured if it snows there, your only supposed to visit, not live there.

15000 miles this year.

I have found in personal experience & seeing what fellow riders deal with, Unless she is anxious to get on board and ride, there will always be an excuse. If they are doing it "just for you", the miles will be limited. Took me 3 wives to find the one that has the passion for it that I do. Good luck guys, so much fun when the sweety travels with you.

I do that all the time.................................then I wake up.

I did a thousand miles last week, and didn't really go anywhere. Just out for some rides in the area.

In Grants Pass Oregon, head west to the coast, then take 101 to S.F.. You will se some of the most beautiful forest ever. Stop in at Ferndale also, you'll be glad you did.

I rode 1st gen Ventures for 22 years, and bought an LT 9 months ago. After 10k miles on the BMW I absolutly love it. It's not as outright "fast" as the Venture, but close. It is just soooooo smooth and the handling is down right incredible. It has CD plus my Droid phone plugs into it, and it's a 2003. BMW does not do have a WOW factor, but they are great to live with. The braking is beyond belief incredible, grip heaters are now a must. You never have to wear the big bulky winter gloves. The electric adjustable windshield was a huge selling point for me. The wife loves the seat heater, but I never use it myself. They are top heavy and if your not 6' tall it could be a problem. You will always be aware of it's size at low, parking lot speeds. On the road it's light and nimble. Wrenching is easy but parts are expensive. These are a riders bike. If your not going two up and at least 10k a year, theres no point. BTW, the failure rate on the rearends is only 4%. It was caused by improper pre-load on the crown bearing. I just got rid of all my Venture stuff, but I still love them. I may pick up a nice one someday as a daytrip bike or something. I think the LT is what the Venture could have been if Yamaha would have stayed on the right path. Right now only BMW and Honda are competing in the luxury touring class. I hear the new K1600GTL is awesome. It's also priced a little less than the Honda.

Back when I was racing, my crew always reminded me I had never met Jack, and I should just drive the stupid car.

Get the pineapple ice cream there. It really taste like pineapple. Also hit pearl harbor early if you can. All the sites (memorial, Bowfin, Missouri) will take all day. Less crowd early.

Same here, had to use seat heater and grip heater cause it was in the 40's. BBrrrrrrr. Any colder and I'll have to wear a riding suit.

Wentout yesterday for a couple hours. It was about 50

Not only is the cassette outdated, so is CD. You may not use an ipod, but most phones these days are also mps players. Much cheaper and easier for Yamaha AND the consumer just to put a phone plugin or bluetooth.

The wife told me it was going to take one of these.

Always great here. Never an issue.

...... ........ ......... I am not a big guy... my wife is a bit bigger... but the seat hight for her and the size... I don't think will work. I am not sure how a couple that may top over 200 each are going to fit on there. I am sure it is a quality machine and it seems by the video that it has all the toys the Venture may be lacking... but it seems kinda small from where I sit My 1200LT has much more room on it than my 86 Venture had. So unless the 1600 is smaller you'll find it very comfortable.

It sounds like you have found a "good level" already. I would maybe do a $5 hr bump. Not that big of a deal to the customer, but it adds up over time (no pun intended). I did something similar with our business and nobody even noticed the price change.

My LT has heated grips and I love them. Even with temps in the 30's I wear my light gloves (deerskin) and only have it set on low. The LT does have really good wind blockage though.

This is something local bikers do every year. We meet at a local Veterans Hall and ride to a cemetery in the next town that has a Veteran monument for a small service. Over 100 bikes. My bike and "ol lady" on the far right.
