This a great write up and the pictures are great. BUT what does the coil look like? Remember--I said that I was not a mechanic.

I know MIDRSV has offered to help me install my tach but with the changing weather and finding time to ride to his place, I have decided to TRY and install it myself. SO if any of you guys have any pictures or words of wisdom before I start this project, please let me know. I am not the best wrench turner but I will try anything at least once. I have already called the dealer as a backup if I screw this up. The tech at the dealership told me he would install it for $50. I am installing the Barons sub-sonic mini teach with 7 color back ground on the brake reservoir. I am waiting all your words of wisdom.

Midrsv I will take you up on the help with the Tach. Going out of town of the next few days to a church training conference in Houston. I am ordering the tach for myself as an early Christmas present. I will get with you after everything is settled. Sould be able to clear up a Saturday to get this done. I really appreciate the offer.

SWEET RIDE Midrsv!!!! I see that we are almost neighbors (only about 225 miles apart) What would you say to a lesson in how to install a TACH? If I get the parts and buy lunch--would you help a fellow Venture Rider out??

I also sometime get feedback from my horn but only through the CB and never the radio or CD changer.

Thanks, I was beginning to think that no one loves me anymore.

:confused24:I tried to go into the thread "Ride Ideas" and was asked for a password to enter. I guessed that the password that I use to log onto the site was the same but I must be mistaken. Are we now starting private threads with invitation only?

Must not be bikers, too much time on their hands. But neat anyway.

Sorry about the bike but glad to hear about Progressive. I have had them for 5 years and never had to make a claim. Now I am glad I chose them.

2005 RSV Clutch & Brake Levers

I also have the Show Chrome wide blade chrome levers. Went on in about 5 minutes and look and feel great. -
Diamond R is no longer carring the passenger tour mug unless you have the arm rests. What is everyone using for a drink holder for the real passenger?
-
I agree with Squidley. Keep the orginal patch and design one for a limited time.

I lost the passenger push to talk button on my '06 Midnight just a couple of months ago. You can not buy just the button and the dealer replaced the whole unit under warranty. ($300)

The website looks nice but I guess I am just getting soft. After 24 years of Army life I swore that I would never go "camping" again. The cabins looks nice but I have already spent my time having to get up out of bed and get dress to go to the bathroom. Our family had an out-house until I was a senior in high school. We still plan to attend but will probably find a hotel/motel close by.

Sounds like fun. Couldn't make Vogel this year due to military training exercise. Count me and the wife in.

not covered under warranty????
Double D replied to labeldave's topic in Royal Star Venture Tech Talk ('99 - '13)
The local dealer did sync my carbs under warranty at about 1000 miles. I compalined of backfiring really bad. They synced the carbs, at no cost to me, and the backfiring went away. -
:2cents:I have used the Tourmaster Venture pants since February in cold weather and hot weather with no problems. I have no problem getting the pants on over my boots (Tourmaster Solution). I have been caught in heavy down pours and stay as dry as toast. The liners are alittle clumsy but the knee pads are located right over my knees with no shifting.

I sent an email to the site and here is his reply: "David, We currently only have designs that will fit Harley saddlebags. But would gladly give you a price if you could give us the demensions of the area you wish to put them on. Measure width and length then send it to us. To fit the curve of the top we need a radius or drawing of the curve. Tom Barnes saddlebagarmor.com tbarnes@saddlebagarmor.com 503-369-4515"

Well- I leave the door open. My MP3 player is fairly small and I attached a piece of velco to the player and the door so when I use the MP3 I just let it ride on the door. The cable that I use is only about 6 inches long so it does not flop around. As far as controls, you place your controls on AUX and you can control the volume through the bike system but I have to change songs and such on the MP3 palyer it self. Hope this helps.

Leveling Links Question
Double D replied to Double D's topic in Royal Star Venture Tech Talk ('99 - '13)
Had a great ride with the Southern Cruiser today and there were 5 Royal Star Venture in the crowd. I want to let everybody know that Boomer came to the house today and within 15 minutes we had the leveling links on the bike and were on the rode again. You could not ask for better people than the ones on this site. Boomer and I had never met before today, other that on this site, and he went out of his way to help. Thanks BOOMER, brother, you are in my prayers. -
