  1. Those came out very nice. Did you clear coat them? Gary
  2. I'm SOOOOOO sorry, My Bad, I didn't realize you were a whiny IT person !! Hey Don, Search doesn't work at my home page. Do I get a new trouble ticket for this new request, then go back into the Que for another month???? Gary
  3. Just checked it again. I have the new version when I am in a 'Post' screen, loke this one. But when I am at my home page http://www.venturerider.org/modules/Jig/index.php I see the old version. Think this is the Watering Hole. What do I do to fix this? Gary
  4. That's the new & improved version. Mine is there sometimes, but most of time it is the non Google version. I have cleared all history, saved internet files, cookies. Also updated to FF 6.01. Gary
  5. How are you getting carbon fiber overlay pattern to follow contours? Heat shrink? How much is CF overlay? Gary
  6. And this is from a guy that was giving me heck about my Firefox Version? And on a related note, I just checked my search, and it is old way. Does anyone else get the window shown below when they click on the Search tab in the second blue bar at the top of screen? Newer version has a Google search option at bottom. Gary
  7. Quick check to isolate the sidestand switch is to pull connector apart and connect all three wires together on harness side and see if problem goes away. If it does then side stand switch is defective. One conductor is a ground and other two conductrs are signal wires, so tying all three together presents no issues. Gary
  8. I sort of liked the old way better. I would get an email that ad was expiring, and could click on a link to renew it, not really that hard to do. If I would put a large quantity in the Number of Items Avalible box, when one was sold ad would still remain open, this was for wrenches I sell and have more than one to sell. Gary
  9. Brian, We, collectively, are pretty good at this 1st gen stuff. There are about 25 +/- bolts that look just like that on the bike. You're on your own on this one. Gary
  10. Yes it would, side stand relay is down. See schematic I posted above. Gary
  11. Attached are the starting circuits for the 83. Gary
  12. Worked for me. Says the regular price is $6.99 can. Gary
  13. To answer your original question, you would need at least 2 different lines from a Venture that did not have the CLASS system. Front shocks have a line that runs from the fork tube port to a holder that sits in the ignition pod. Rear shocks have a line that sets in the steering damper housing plate. Not easy finding fittings for these lines, they are kinda unique. I may have a couple of the items you need from my 1200 in its original form. Remind me, I am fairly busy this weekend putting the Ignitech TCI's together. Gary
  14. I have a spare 1st gen wheel and the seal has a taper on it. Narrow side of taper is away from wheel. Also there is a counter bore on the narrow side that fits away from the wheel. The lip of the counter bore fits under the splines on the hub. Gary
  15. The thicker washer goes against the swing arm. Gary
  16. Lewis, What sizes are shirts? Gary
  17. The washer should be between the caliper bracket and the swing arm. Picture is of an 88 setup, but order is the same. Gary
  18. Also the Mohican State Forest area is nice a little south Loudonville, Ohio. Then some more southeast around Berlin, Ohio there is a lot of Amish stores that make for a fun day according to my wife. Gary
  19. Nice looking scooter. My 1st Venture had the turn signal grills like yours, not real common bling. Gary
  20. And what makes a "Venture" special, so that it can't be equipped with a radial? The manufacturer may have only load rated & sized bias for some reason, like proper sized radials were not available at the time. I would put a set of radials on in a heartbeat if they were from a quality manufacturer & load rated for these big bikes. Radial bike tires are not to be confused with radial car tires that we are accustomed seeing the sidewalls bulge a little. Gary
  21. These bikes rarely need a rejet with anywhere near a stock configuration. Possible exhaust leak I beleive I have read. Using a good dose of Seafoam gas treatment will be the #1 recomendation. Sold at wal-mart for $8-10 a can. Red & white can about 12oz. size. Could be carbs need synched, idle jets adjusted. Probably could stand valves checked if unkown when or if they have been checked. Replace all brake & clutch fluids. As my standard warning, I don't have one of the R(eally) S(low) V(entures), so all of this is pure speculation. Gary
  22. You know Yammer, this thread, while some what enlightening about the pitfalls of handing someone in a pickup with a hand painted sign on the door "Garages are Us", a chunk of cash (several times), it pales in comparison to the one you and Mini had going several months ago. You need to do something to liven it up, say, Some Pictures. You gotta know somebody that could help you out. We really want to see the damages. A picture is worth a thousand words ya know. Even if they take them with a cell phone and send them to one of us. Some of have the technology to make them appear here. You would think a man with your experience in dealing with people that may have, on occasion, not told you the complete truth would be more experienced when it comes to listening to the B.S. that this entrepreneur must have given you. 23. If the phone is powered down, any charger should be able to bring the battery back up. This is based upon the output VOLTAGE of the charger in question being equal to the recommended charger. As I mentioned earlier, it may take a little longer to do, but I don't see any harm in 'trickle' charging a phone. (Wannabee Super Lotto Winner) Gary
  24. The possible lower wattage will translate into a longer time needed to charge the phone, but if the output voltage is the same it will never the less still charge it. The possible glitch is if your smartphone consumes a higher amount of wattage when it is operating than the charger will put out, then there will still be a drain on the battery. Doubtful, but worth mentioning. (Aspiring Mad Scientist) Gary
