    Love the looks of the '10 Stratoliner, but it is air cooled for a big bike like that and belt driven. This Model may attract a different group of riders with their own style of riding. Certainly unique for Yamaha right now, IMO. Just imagine, put aftermarket pipes on that bike - the rumble shall be awesome!

    Very nice project brewing there. Best of luck and don't forget to post pics on the finished bike. As I was looking at the new 2010 models, I saw a nice Stratoliner Deluxe with fairing and a shorty windshield. Very sharp!

    +1. After 9 years, I would not be surprised to see a leak but this is minor. Get all your parts on hand before you tackle the job...as mentioned ealier, valve adjustment (if needed) time is perfect for this. Ride safe.

    Congrats on your new RSV and Welcome to the forum. I pump my shock at 35 riding solo. For 2 up, I only add another 5 psi and it feels just fine for us. +1 on a bike pump and that is what I use for the rear shock and the pump has a built-in pressure gauge. Two small pumps makes a big difference on the pressure in the shock, so be careful. As for my front forks, I just keep them at 0 psi. Ride safe.

    My lamps can be switched on and off with a switch located next to the 12V power source. They stay on even if I switch to High Beam. fyi, my lamps were dealer installed at the time I bought my RSV. Sorry, I am not so familiar with the wiring on the lamps and have never gotten the chance to open the fairing yet. I am sure members can chime in to answer your question.

    I also have Gerbings Liner and Gloves. When I got my Venture, I did not have to use my Liner since my body was pretty much protected from the wind. All I needed were my heated gloves. Good quality, but I have no comment if their merchandise fail. For warranty, they have a lifetime warranty due to failure of the heating elements.

    I try to stay away from unpaved road. The bike is very heavy...at work in our other facility and if parked all day on a hot sunny day, the kick stand would go down on the asphalt. Glad you did not drop it.

    +1 on the dog bones. However, easyduzzit stated that he already checked all bolts for proper torque. The Venture should be nice and smooth at 80 mph.

    Ok, sounds like you have covered almost all the bases. Assuming that everything else is fine on your bike (Steering head tightness, wheel bolts, checked for proper torque on every nuts and bolts you can get your tool on) until you check and/or replace plugs...etc., have you looked at your front forks? What is the air pressure in them? (This may be a stupid question) --> How about the road, it probably is rough enough that you feel some vibration on your handle bars.

    I have about the same miles as your bike at apx. 8400 miles ('07). Try bleeding the clutch and it may be a good time to replace the fluid anyway ... as stated by Eck. I did mine a few months ago and it is always nice to see clean fluid in those reservoir sight glass. As stated before, arm and wrist curls in your local fitness gym (ie: Gold's Gym) may do the trick. Ride Safe.

    Not sure how I understand the symptoms of a bad clutch spring. So far, if you feel that your clutch is 'slipping', it may just be a case of a worn out clutch spring (?). Some members do not recommend to change all clutch plates, just replace the clutch spring. I do not need the kit, but I'd like to have it on hand. Thanks for your reply.

    What exactly is PCW's website address? Very interested on keeping this part in my garage until it is time to replace the clutch spring.

    I say definitely yes, balance them tires. Metzlers for the rear? Just an fyi, a number of venture riders dislike Metzlers due to tire problems. Ride safe.

    Ponch, great pics. I always learn and hear something new. That 12 Volt micro pump looks like an excellent replacement to the OEM pump. How long have you had your pump in place to date?

    For photo ops, I try to clean before the shot. It was the perfect time to wipe it down with the tank off. With the new plugs installed, I may not see underneathe the tank for the next 8000 miles. Ride safe everyone.

    So, I finally did it last Sunday afternoon. Being it the first time, it took me about 1.5 hours total. I took my time and made sure that I did not miss any important step in the process like apply anti-seize on the threads, di-electric on the ceramic portion of the plugs, torqued properly (although I did not use torque wrench...just by feel making sure not to over torque), clean the hard to reach crevices:happy34:, and reinstalled all the parts that I removed...I also applied Blue Loctite on the engine bracket bolts.... I find it a lot easier to remove the tank in order to replace the front plugs. I just can't imagine how hard it would be with the tank in place. You guys are right, the tank is not so hard to remove. I know a lot of you have seen pics of a Venture with the tank removed, but here are some pics for your viewing. Oh yes, I was also surprised to see NGK plugs installed as OEM equipment...I was expecting to see Denso plugs, I was wrong. I guess this way that actually did replace plugs on the Venture with the same exact ones that came off. After two days of riding, I have noticed that my bike feels a lot more responsive on the throttle or could it be just my imagination...Gas mileage, I'll have to find that out on my next full tank.

    What's up with all these left lower fairing issue? Is there something I should do in order for this not to occur on my bike? I still have 4 years and 2 months left on my factory warranty, but I didn't want to go through all that headache.

    Hello TheKid. I don't have anything else to add on what to do at this moment aside from what was suggested by members on previous posts. Several possibilities could have happened that caused your problem...as mentioned earlier, bad gas, bad fuel pump, etc. I am starting to wonder how long would a fuel pump normally last on these bikes. Is it within a certain number of miles? Not really sure. I also have an '07, but I only have a little over 8K miles and the clicking sounds once I turn my ignition on is very distinct. I hope you can have your issue resolved soon. Just a side note....I always get my gas from our local Shell gas station or any gas station that advertise that their fuel does not contain ethanol.     Final Drive failed on your '07....that is one expensive repair. Glad to hear warranty is still in effect. What exactly happened to your Final Drive?

    + 1000 on the Carbon One adapter. To supplement the adapter, I got myself a nice J&M Jack...it sure makes it more stable lifting the bike up in the air. Enjoy your adapter for years to come. Ride safe.

    I think that is not normal with your Carbtune bouncing all over the place unless your idle is very erratic. Explain exactly how you connected your Carbtune to the bike.
