Man! Where do I order a 2nd gen for $92 shipped to my door? Finally, a 2nd gen priced fairly!
-
That's pretty good for $80. A friend of mine bought one from Harley for his road glide that is similar and it cost him $120. On his the receiver just plugs in to the power next to the door opener. Thanks for the info, Dan, I'll have to pick on of these up when I get some spare change.

You'll be in my thoughts Lonna! A friend of mine went through this a few months ago and he's doing fine now.

That should only be about a year and a half's riding on each! Of course they'll last forever if you don't ride them, Froggie! Oh yeah, let you get ahead of me one time and it goes right to your head! http://smileys.smileycentral.com/cat/15/15_8_220.gif

I like the looks of the MarkII (86 up) best but when they went to the 1300 they de-tuned the motor. I'd like to up the power on my 86. Only problem there is !

Nice! Although if it were a first gen I'd say it looks like a "Silver Bullet"! Oh yeah! Here's mine!

I think they went for about 8900 loaded. But that is just what I seem to recall someone telling me. I'm sure someone will come up with a definite for you from an ad or something. -
Where have all the 1st gens gone?

What? Your wife doesn't like your other girlfriends!?!? But he way prefers his 1st gen! In fact he's looking for another one! Nice bike, and the prettiest color! -
Nice bike, Thom! Congratulations! Gonna be sweeeet when you get it back together. Of course you know that you now own the prettiest Venture ever. If you don't believe me ask Skid...he's a cop so he's not allowed to lie!

After crashing on the Dragon last year, I had some plastic repair to do myself. I started out using JB Weld and moved on to Devcon Plastic Welder. Both with fiberglass cloth laid in. I found that the Devcon was the easiest to work with (available at WallyWorld), and was very strong; even when rebuilding tabs. It sets a lot faster than JB W. JB Quick sets up fast, but I have found that it is not as strong or long lasting.

I figures you were going convention that specialized in liquor shots! Man, I'd get in on that!!! http://smileys.smileycentral.com/cat/7/7_4_14.gifhttp://smileys.smileycentral.com/cat/7/7_4_16.gif http://smileys.smileycentral.com/cat/7/7_4_13.gif http://smileys.smileycentral.com/cat/13/13_4_10.gif

Another thing to make sure of with your policy is that it has medical coverage for YOU! My friend that went down on our summer trip found out after the fact that his policy only had med coverage for a passenger! I came home and checked mine and it was the same. I think I pay an extra twenty bucks a year for med coverage for myself.

Bob, I've also heard that you can succesfully use "Liquid Electrician's Tape" to seal pin holes in the diaphragms. Now to hijack this thread for a minute ! Have you and loehring seen the N Ga M&E thread for this Saturday? Hopefully you and Chip can make it. You could hook up with Blackjack and ride over. Now back to your regularly scheduled thread!

Hey Eck, get your bike in the garage, get your head down and cover your A$$! It looks like y'all got some nasty weather with tornadoes comin' your way! (Can you say "Auntie Em, Auntie Em!":rotf:) That goes for everyone in the way of that storm! I guess we'll see it tonight! Maybe I'll blow off Hooter's Bike Night tonight!

Glad they got that thing outa there! Sure hope they didn't take more than the blood clot! Of course, you're fixing up the 2nd gen instead of looking around for a 1st gen, so the doc might have dug some brain cells out to! Get out and ride as soon as you can Steve! Just don't forget to put the "top" up!

really dumb question
86er replied to ceastlick's topic in Venture and Venture Royale Tech Talk ('83 - '93)
I'm not sure, but I think that all Ventures after 86 were Royales. With all the bells and whistles. I tried looking in the Venture History section but it didn't mention that.- 10 replies
