  1. Well at least the endangered mussels are safe! The Corps of Engineers, in it's infinite wisdom, has been sending Atlanta's drinking water to them all summer! I guess mussels are more critical than people!
  2. That was a great jump! There was also a thread about it yesterday. World Record Jump. I think he should have tried one more time for 360 feet! But I think he would have lost a girlfriend!
  3. In vaugeness, they can ticket you and hope you don't take it go to court!
  4. That's just wrong Brad.............................she's a lot better looking than you!
  5. Whether "Parked or Post", I DON'T DO PMS, DAN!!!
  6. My Momma always taught me that when you have news like this you start with "So & So is OK, but...." So my heart sank when I saw this thread's title! Brad and Lonna, I am so glad that you walked away from this and out of the hospital! You know that anything you need is only a request away from almost anyone on this site. I'm praying for y'alls speedy and comfortable recovery. Lona...no making cheesecake for a while, lifting those heavy pans won't help your clavicle heal! Sorry Brad, but you gotta deal with store bought for a while! Hey look at it this way.................after the insurance pays off you can get back where you belong, on a First Gen!
  7. His girlfriend didn't look too happy that he was going for a second run! I liked watching him run up to 94 mph in the PARKING GARAGE! That takes a set too! Especially on a dirt bike. Yeah, Evil K. crashed.....so he didn't make it. No record there. Well, I think he did set a record for broken bones!
  8. Check your Driver's License Now you can see anyone's Driver's License on the Internet, including your own! I just searched for mine and there it was...picture and all! I definitely removed mine. I suggest you all do the same. Thanks Homeland Security! Go to the web site, and check it out. It's unbelievable!!! Just enter your name, city and state to see if yours is on file. After your license comes on the screen, click the box marked "Please Remove." This will remove it from public viewing, but not from law enforcement. Please notify all your friends so they can protect themselves too. Believe me they will thank you for it. http://www.license.shorturl.com/
  9. Hey, Tom, I quit 3 years ago after 41 years of smoking. Have I been quit long enough for you to take me to Ruths Chris? Hey LA, don't repaint the wife and dog.....I like 'em just the way they are! Don't quit the beer or coffee (Like U could quit coffee if you wanted!), but try some Altoids gum, it's got enough kick to it to take you mind off the smokes!
  10. It's always nice to ride with the Leos! Sounds like a good ride and a great way to start the year!
  11. I'm glad you figured out the battery was bad, JB. What brand was the battery?
  12. Glad you had a good ride, Terry. Wish I could have joined you, but as I said, I had plans already set. I did ride about 15 miles yesterday. And I also got the truck out and did some cruisin' in it!
  13. Well, Froggie, I rode to a New Year's Eve Party so I was able to ride at the end of '07 and the beginning of '08! It was a balmy 35 as I rode home in the morning! Tonight (Or, I guess last night) I rode to a friends to watch football. I leathered up to come home 'cause it had dropped to 25F. But even so..........IT WAS GREAT!!!!

    plastic fix

I have to agree with Paul, Plastic Welder by Devcon is available in the adhesive section of the hardware dept. at Wally World. (It took me a while to find it!) I had extensive plastic repair after I crashed at Deals Gap. I learned that it works best if you also add fiberglass cloth to the epoxy. As was said, you can rebuild tabs stronger than factory original.

    plastic fix

Now you're confusing me, Kreg. I thought you were talking about a 2nd gen, but then you talked about it going so fast, so I guess you must be talking about a 1st gen!!!
  18. Shouldn't that pumpkin be Red, White & Blue?
  19. I bought a Pioneer unit before my 8k mile trip this summer and was happy with it but I learned to always keep a map on the tank as backup! It did try to turn me down dirt roads even though I told it to ignore dirt roads. I don't think it knows the difference very well. I'm not sure how to update it either.
  20. A friend has one on the right floorboard of his Road Glide. It was on the bike when he got it. It hits the ground when he leans it to the right! You can hear it go ding-ding-ding if you are close to him. I call it his right turn indicator! Mine is on the front axle and I never hear it. Of course the radio is always on too. I fix a lot of noises that way.
  21. Thanks, jt. I knew you had gone to the dogs! That wasn't it, but it did lead me to the one that I was looking for. This one with Tina Humphrey is better than the first, especially the ending! [ame=http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=pgWD6F-paE4&feature=related]Link[/ame]

    Jackets

Any time that I'm going to be riding at temps below 25/30 degrees, I ride with a down vest under my leather jacket. The vest has a turtle neck on it that zips up. I put that under my helmet strap. I've ridden down to less than 10 degrees that way. With good gloves and face cover (Either face shield or neoprene mask) I stay toasty warm. I've left here (Atl) in the 20s at 5 am headed to my parents in Venice, Fl and have to start shedding stuff around Gainesville.
  23. Good for you for doing this, Jack! I just put a PC680 in this fall and highly recommend it. I'd get on the list had I not just done mine. I got mine from batteries Plus locally and since I used to be their UPS guy they gave me a deal, I paid $99 and was told that due to the price of lead, all battery prices had just gone up. Sounds like they are going up again so I'd say that 99 bucks delivered is a super price.
  24. Of course, depending on the resort and the family, that can be optional as well! Either way, Don, enjoy your time! And to all, a very Happy and Prosperous http://smileys.smileycentral.com/cat/8/8_6_37.gif!
