I guess if a bum is another word for butt is some places then a "bummer" could be someone who.... Oh never mind.

Yep, that's me too. It reminds me of a joke.... Two elderly couples are taking a walk and talking. One of the men says "We had a great dinner last week at this new restaurant in town." The other man asks "What was it called?" The first man says "I can't remember. What's that flower? You know the red one that smells good. You give it on Valentine's Day" The second one says "A rose?" The first man replies "That's it! Hey Rose, what was the name of that restaurant we went to last week?"

Somebody at work asked me if I rode any over the weekend. I told them I did and that it was so pretty out Sunday that I had seen tons of other bikes out. I even saw some guys pulling their Harleys on trailers. I just threw that last part in there because one of the guys at work has a Soft Tail and he has to change the gas when he changes oil because he rides so little.

It's very wet here today. My brother rode the Dragon yesterday and it was beautiful.

I had several things planned to do today, but it rained buckets and my power went out, so Karen suggested we go shopping for helmets. I had bought an intercom system for the bike and we needed something other than our regular half helmets to mount the headsets in. We found helmets we liked and hooked up everything, and like any other kid I had to try out the new toy. We suited up in rain gear and took off. The IMC intercom worked great, and for the first time my wholesome honey and I could converse while we rode. We stayed dry with the gear on and had a great ride. In fact the rain made it just cool enough that it was the best ride we've had in a while. I may have to ride in the rain more often.

Oh, from the subject line I thought it was a Diarrhea problem... -
I second the good luck wishes. I was lucky I wasn't in an accident today. I had an idiot pull out in front of me. I laid on the horn and he looked at me like "What are you blowin' at" I don't think he even realized what an idiot he was.

Took her for a ride today.......................

It looks great! I love those colors, good choice. -
I let mine warm up while I'm going down the road. It's a waste of gas to sit there idling.

I was faced with a similar situation recently, and rather than try it, I took an exit I wasn't planning to take. I have been riding about a year again after a long hiatus, and some situations I'm still not comfortable with (like riding in rain).

I work at a Kenworth dealership, and nearly every repair order has a can of CRC #05089 brake cleaner on it. I don't think there's much to worry about. Nobody in our shop has ever gotten sick from it in the 18 years I've been there. -
If you were in Knoxville this evening you could stop by the Eazyduzzit house and get a real burger. It'd make you throw rocks at Merv's. I'm just getting ready to fire up the grill.

I get much better mileage 2 up. She doesn't like going fast. I have gotten around 47 MPG on the hwy. chugging along in 5th, but most of the time it's more like 37 MPG.

Blue first gen at Biker Rags in Knoxville, TN.
eazyduzzit replied to eazyduzzit's topic in Watering Hole
Yeah, he got it started alright. They were having a swap meet, so there tons of people there. As soon as my wife and I got off my bike, I noticed the Venture with the headlight on. All I could do was look for someone without a Harley tee shirt on. Before we left, I looked to see if it was still there but it was gone. -
I say take it for a ride. Preferably a long ride. When I first rode one it wasn't what I expected. It is so different from a V-Twin. I actually like the way a V-twin runs and feels around town, but the water cooled V-4 beats it when you get away from the red lights and on the highway. The only time I've had any issues with heat, I was going to a wedding. It was July and I was wearing a pair of dress shoes that must be made of plastic or something. They conduct heat like crazy and my feet got very hot. Since then I've put a set of highway pegs on, so I won't have that problem even if I'm ignorant enough to wear those shoes again. Some of these bikes have an annoying (to some) whine, and some are worse than others. Mine can't be heard when I wear a full or 3/4 helmet, but I can hear it with a half helmet. It doesn't bother me. I love the handling and the ride and so does my wife.

We didn't ride far, but it was nice with no vibration and first ride of any distance since Rick reworked my seat. We hit some fresh new blacktop and everything working together made it feel like we were floating instead of riding. Almost a religious experience.

If you were on a first generation today at Biker Rags in Knoxville, you left your headlight on.

Thanks for sharing. I'm sure neither of you will ever forget this ride.

Oh, I see. You won't be here for the weekend. Well it sucks, but I have to work during the week. -
My front brakes sound awful. Almost like a grinding noise. I took it apart and the pads had plenty of wear left, so I put 'em back in. I don't know what causes it.

I would like to try a set of quieter mufflers on my '05 RSTD. If anyone has a set of stock or maybe a set of Road king mufflers laying around that you trip over every time you walk through the garage, I might buy them from you just to help you get rid of them.

Vibration problem
eazyduzzit replied to eazyduzzit's topic in Royal Star Venture Tech Talk ('99 - '13)
Well, I don't understand it but on the way home from work yesterday I didn't notice the vibration. When I got home my new air filters were on the porch where the UPS man had left them. I changed them out and put on my newly reworked seat which I also got on UPS from Rick. I went for about a 20 mile ride and I'm in love again. I don't know what I did, but the vibration is gone. I would say it was the air filters, but I noticed it gone before I changed them. -
I really like the looks of the Strat Deluxe.
