Downshift to slow! Never set in Neutral either at a stop light/sign. Just in case I need to make a fast getaway.

I currently have 17K miles on my Avon Venom and will probably have 18K by the time I change it next week and I think I have even more tread showing than yours. I am sticking with the Avon:thumbsup:

Got the boss one before the sale and she likes it alot. Paid $29.99 then. However New Enough sent me a coupon for the $4.99 since it just went on sale so close to when I bought it. They (New Enough) has to be the absolute best company out there! They have treated me better than I have EVER been treated by a retailer. Internet or Store front. I will always go there 1st for all my needs.

What kind of special tank badge will the ones with a good frame have?

Glad to hear it turned out well. I had a feeling it would once I heard you had State Farm. I have had their insurance on everything I own my whole adult life and have always felt I was treated fairly. FYI - Since 2000 they have also been my employer, I work in their Corporate Systems Deptartment. They treat their employees fairly also. So, Congrats and good luck getting your bike back to its pristine shape. Jay

As organized as you are its hard to believe you go anywhere without an itenerary for start, stop, eat and .....! Now that's not a bad thing either, most of the relatively few friends I have, would say I'm definetly that way too!

Can't tell you much about flying other than I hate it and haven't flown since well before 9/11. What I do know is if you come through Springfield IL or Bloomington, IL you better call !!

Today when I left home I got to the corner and noticed I didn't have a speedo or odememter. Stopped and checked all the lights and they were on as was the overdrive and cruise lights, so since I had a GPS I went on. On the way I stopped for gas when I started it back up everything was working again. Later in the day when I started it kind of paused, then started, but the odemeter and cloce and been reset. Any ideas

No problem, glad that fixed it. Enjoy the ride and be safe, Jay

Oh yeah I remember now. 10LBS you are right. Don't know where I came up with 25. Might have been a luggage rack on another bike. Anyway, doesn't the trunk say a max of 20lbs? I figure this weekend we had easily 60 lbs between the trunk and the rack. Wasn't real comfortable with that and that is why I started the post on a hitch rack and am on the prowl for one. Jay

My Yamaha rack had a label on it said 25lbs, I thought. Of course I took it off imediately. However, we just got back from a 4 day trip and going and coming, I be the back I had in there had a WHOLE lot more. It was a Kuryakan GRand Traveller, fully expanded.

Check and make sure your Intercom volume is down. Intercom is an open mike system so if the Volume is too loud you will get a bunch of noise. Also check CB Squelch and set it high enough that no static comes through Just my ideas. Jay

We just got back from our annual couples trip and honestly there was not a bad rode. Lots of hotels around Prairie Du Chien too. Centrally located Very good food prices around there too.

Thanks I'm interested in looking at them all. Thought Diamond R used to have one, but its not listed anymore. "Go to Venturedad.com and look under "coming soon" tab. He may already be producing these. Give him a call. Excellent to do business with" I've already sent him an email too, waiting to hear back.

What aftermarket supplier makes a rack to fit in the hitch on an RSV? I've seen them out there and I know some folks have made their own. I won't be making my own because I'm not talented enough :crying:so unless someone jumps up and volunteer to make me one:thumbsup: I'm out searching. Any help in the way of supplier links would be appreciated. Thanks,

Handle bar wobble with no hands...
RoadKill replied to bugfish69's topic in Royal Star Venture Tech Talk ('99 - '13)
I would bet its the steering head bolt tension. Mine did the same thing and since I had it corrected and checked at each maintenence I have absolutely ZERO wobble. I can ride with no hands, even negtotiate a sweeper if I want. I would start there. -
I want one! How is it attached to the bike? Via a Hitch? How much for an Illinois neighbor?
-
Sorry to hear about that. Makes me ill to even think someone from here could do that. I think I would rather keep my head in the sand and think it fell off. Take care. BTW- you going to Eureka Springs?

Yes, I goofed 10:30am.

Well since you brought it up Bill... I was corresponding with Sean and Laurene and Cycle Gadgets concerning and order and mentioned we would be down their way in Sept. again and she offered to have snacks and coffee ready for visit! So...I set it up for 1:30 Sat AM. They have a great company, and stuff you can't do without! Checkout their website! http://www.cyclegadgets.com/ Se even gave me a rode update. The old bridge was damaged with the flood , so unless they get it fixed we won't be doing that little ride. Really looking forward to seeing everyone. Jay

If I were you I wouldn't worry about Shirts or patches. Let's just enjoy the riding and visiting. My 2 cents!
