I don't think that is a fair statement. There are a number of opinions from folks who DID try it and went back. Even the results of the poll indicated that about 32% went back to a motorcycle tire after experimenting with the car tire. You are correct, many have an opinion and some have never tried it for an extended amount of time but to say that most who don't like it fall into the latter two categories is simply not correct.

Moving the cd changer was a........
Freebird replied to royalstar09's topic in Royal Star Venture Tech Talk ('99 - '13)
That's exactly how I had mine mounted back when I had the changer installed. I liked it much better there than the ones I saw in the saddlebags. I removed it long ago though and went with the MP3 player. Just much more convenient for me. -
Yes, that would be possible if anybody really had a desire to do so. Like I said, if it is a real concern, just use the email feature instead of the PM feature.

Yea, either post it as a new idea or......look under the tech talk section and you'll find it where it has been for a few months now.

The simple answer is yes, it would be possible for me to read your private messages if I chose to do so. All private message naturally must be retained on the server in order for you to be able to read them. Anything on the server is stored in the database so it would be possible to read your private messages. That being said, I have absolutely no desire to do so. I don't care about anybody's personal business. It takes enough time just to read each and every post here, I sure don't have time to get into private messages also. If anybody is concerned about that though, you can also use the "email member" option if they have their profile set to accept emails. Emails are NOT saved in the database.

uh...maybe....

I think that the vast majority of you already know this but some may have not given it much thought one way or the other. I do all that I can to make sure that your private information remains private here. That is why if you email another member, the email goes through the venturerider email system so that your actual email address is never displayed here. Your private emails are not given out here by me to any individual or to any company. The only way that somebody should be able to get your email address is to ask you for it. Same with your telephone numbers. Many of us have our numbers listed here for the VR Assistance list and in our profiles. Your profiles are NOT viewable by guests, expired members or (as of today) trial members. I like to give our trial members access to all the features that I can but since pretty much anybody can sign up for a trial membership, I've decided that your member information will only be viewable by other supporting members. Even at that, you have privacy options in your UserCP so that you can hide your information to everybody or make it available only to members on your "friends list", etc. I say all of that to say this. If you are ever contacted by a ex member or guest asking you for another members email address or telephone number, please do NOT give it out. The best thing to do would be to forward the request to the member whose information is being requested and let THEM decide whether or not they wish to provide it. I do all that I can to protect our privacy here, please help me in doing so. Thanks much. Don

FINALLY something we can all agree on. -
Can these work on my bike,..?
Freebird replied to DarrinGT's topic in Royal Star and Royal Star Tour Deluxe Tech Talk
I am almost SURE that they are not. I don't think your Royal Star has the strut that they mount to and if it did, I KNOW that it wouldn't be drilled for them. -
uh..yea...I need to get on that....still hanging on the pegboard.
-
Yea...well she wasn't sleeping beside YOUR bed....
-
Heck...I didn't even know about the bikini contest....I don't even know where mine is...I'll find it though.
-
Don't worry...we can change all that.
-
hmmmmmm...no.....sounds about right.

HEY HEY HEY....this is not just one of the maintenance days....this is the original one and only Freebird's maintenance day. Sure wish you could make it.

If it's an '08, it should have about 3-4 years left on the warranty, depending upon the date that it was registered. They come with a 5 year unlimited miles warranty. As for the value, I really am shooting from the hip here but I'm going to say somewhere in the $10,000 - $10,500 range. Somebody will surely correct me if I'm wrong. After doing a bit of looking...I may well be a bit low on that number.

Also try taking the key in and out a couple of times and then turning it off and on a few times. They usually go through a stage where they have to be in just the right position before it will work instead of just going bad all at once.
-
That depends upon rider weight, passenger weight, etc. I usually run mine about 40 psi with passenger and pulling a trailer that is usually loaded too heavy.

Just have him drag that old one lunger to MD. We can set him up right beside Pioneer trailer and the pinstriper.
