  1. From some tests that V7Goose has done, it may not actually be the coils. It could very likely be corrosion in the plug caps. Read this thread as it contains a lot of good information. http://www.venturerider.org/forum/showthread.php?t=39160
  2. Yea, I just read your message again and you are exactly right of course. I just read it in too big a hurry the first time and thought you were talking about getting a new key made for the old one. I don't know WHY I thought that because your message was pretty darn clear. Thanks, I may actually do that also.
  3. I think what he's asking for is a different kind of lock. I understand what he means because mine is the same way. You can't leave it unlocked so that you can get in without a key. It is designed so that you HAVE to use the key to open it. It would be nice to find an exact replacement that you can leave unlocked and open it with just the push of the button if you want to instead of HAVING to use the key to open it.

BongoBob is correct. A lot of the "guests" are bots, search engines, etc.
  5. Sorry to hear that. I think there will always be times when it is slow for some and that is simply network congestion. I run into that at times in my travels from one place or another.
  6. Something like that NX250 would be a nice one to have around. It looks good. Congrats on finally finding it.
  7. Rick Butler has some excellent information on this and a lot of experience. Hopefully he will see this but if not, send him a PM. I know that he does NOT recommend the progressives for the RSV. Actually, he posted a good write up here somewhere on the subject.
  8. OOPS....I think he KNOWS now.
  9. I think I hurt my back watching that. Truly amazing.
  10. Yea, sorry, I was talking about the hitch.
  11. Back to the REAL subject though, it does seem to be a good deal quicker from here anyway.
  12. WOW...I'm always impressed that you guys are always there with the answers.
  13. Seems like the site has been pretty sluggish for a few weeks now. I just had some optimization done on the server. Hopefully it will help.
  14. I still maintain that it's home made. They did a good job on it but it's NOT a Bushtec hitch. They did use a similar Heim type connector for the swivel mechanism as does Bushtec but that is where the resemblance ends.
  15. I agree...those are long miles for 3 days in a row. I've done one...even two days like that but three in a row and then turn right around and do the same thing coming home can be brutal. It can be done but I ride for enjoyment and really don't think I would enjoy it very much. But, if the miles don't bother you and the bike is in good shape, I wouldn't worry about the mountains and other terrain. The bike should be fine.
  16. I hate to hear it Jeff but I sure understand. In this economy where good jobs are still hard to find, you have to do what you have to do. You know that we'll miss you. Please stay safe and know that we are here for you if you need anything.
  17. I can sure relate to what you're saying. It wasn't too long ago that I was fairly certain that I was bullet proof. Then things happen and you realize that you only have so much time on this old earth. It caused pause in my life also. Sure makes you think about all you have done, what you have accomplished, what you have failed to accomplish and how much time is left to do so. It's sad in a way but it also makes you realize how important your friends and loved ones are.
  18. Looks like some kind of custom home made hitch. I know it's not a Bushtec.
  19. I saw on the news that he has retired.....AGAIN! I think he will end up going back to Green Bay for a few days though just so that he can retire as a Packer. If they will let him.
  20. OK Charlie, I'm not going to say anything because I don't want to confuse you but here is some information on the FJR fuel filters. http://fjr1300ownersassociation.yuku.com/topic/2198
  21. Don't look at me, I have NO IDEA what he's talking about this time.
  22. I played it ONE TIME and I'm NOT doing it again....drove me nuts....got a 44 and that's just fine with me.
  23. Some of you know it already but for those who aren't aware of the change. New Enough has changed their name to Motorcycle Gear. I have replaced the old newenough.com banner with the motorcyclegear.com banner. They are a great company and through your purchases, have donated several hundred dollars in gift certificates to our club and 100% of those contributions have been returned to members here in the form of raffles, prizes, etc. Please continue to select venturerider.org as your club of choice during the checkout process when you purchase from motorcyclegear.com The company has not changed. It has not sold and is not under new management. They have just changed their name to reflect the fact that they are no longer a used motorcycle garment dealer as they started out but are now a great vendor of NEW quality merchandise at great prices.
  24. Just received an email from another person who has the same issue with this vendor. He passed along this link. http://www.okiepages.com/raynes.htm
  25. That's OK...you can get your revenge...as long as you aren't rude about it...
