HEY...that's a self portrait. I'm CRUSHED.
-
This is a tough question. I guess there are many things that I would do differently. Most importantly, I would try to be a kinder person, more patient, choose my words more carefully, choose some relationships more carefully....so many things I know now could have been handled better. Since I can't change the past however, I won't dwell on it and just work on being a better person today and in the future.

Earl, Thanks for your report. I have made some changes that will hopefully help. Let me know if you have problems again tonight. TX, I didn't see any real problems at the forumrunner forum but did find some reports at a VBulletin site. I also found that there had been some upgrades to the program since I installed it. I just installed the latest version and re-enabled it. I'm not even sure that is is causing a problem but just searching for the culprit.

Thanks. Such comments do help because I can see what kind of tasks are running at various times. ForumRunner may well be causing an issue though because of the way it works. It uses a third party server to "push" information to the users. It runs a script ever 10 minutes to cue information and then sends it to the third party server. Too early to know for sure but it may well be at least contributing to the problem.

I was asked a while back to install a interface called ForumRunner for the site. It is a program that is supposed to make the site better for those using IPads and Iphones I think. Just a note that I have at least temporarily disabled that program due to excess load on the server. I don't know for sure if it is the culprit but am temporarily disabling features that I have added over the past two or three months in an effort to figure out what is slowing things down.

This doesn't answer your question but I do have a response to the sound quality of the Edset speakers. I find them to be VERY good but you have to get them close to your ears. When I first installed mine, I had deep pockets left over from the previous headset. I simply placed the Edset speakers in the back of those pockets. The sound wasn't that great. I then move them out so that they are almost touching my ears and they are fantastic now. The best I've ever owned and I've used the highest priced sets from J&M as well as AirRider. The Edsets blow them away. They must be close to your ears though. I also discovered that I had ONE of the speakers turned backwards.

Oh don't worry...they have visited...no doubt about that. Now whether or not they LISTEN...that is an entirely different story.

It is a Microsoft Word format. If you don't have a fairly recent copy of Word, you won't be able to open it. There are also some free Word readers that you can download.

Yes, I'll get some more ordered when I feel that there is enough interest. I've ordered them four or five times now but this last batch has lasted a while.

WOW...that is just very cool.

I have a very few of them. Ordering/Payment instructions are in the "VentureRiider Merchandise" forum.

Well, personally I think that is cool but WAY unnecessary. -
I just never know what to say in these situations. Please just know that you are in our thoughts and prayers. We do care.

I'm not sure I'm understanding what you are asking for. We already have a forum where all newbies are welcomed and you can add your welcome posts to it.

I have been messing with this and still haven't been able to get it to work. This has been requested several times over the past years and I always try and again, fail, then give up until somebody brings it up again. I will try to find a way but in the meantime, it's NOT that hard to find their profile. The easiest way is probably to go to the home page of the forum, scroll to the very bottom and you'll see a list of newest members. Just click on their name there and it will take you to their profile.

HEY...that was done as a warm tribute to our very own Black Owl.

OK folks...I don't remember if I ever actually told this story here or if I told it one night at Maintenance Day but here it is. It was a dark and stormy night... no...that was another one....OH YEA About 15 or so years ago, there was a group of us in NE Texas that leased some property on the Texas and Louisiana state line that we used for deer hunting. This was up in the NE Corner of the state near a little town named Kildair, close to Shreveport, LA. I was probably on that lease for about 10 years and we always had a great time. We had a large area cleared out where we would circle our campers and have a fire in the center of the circle during the evenings. Now a lot of folks don't realize that it DOES get cold in NE Texas. Not the -20 and etc. that we get in the north but it is not unusual to see temperatures in the single digits accompanied by brisk winds and high humidity which can result in some very cold evenings. This incident happened on one of those cold evenings. It was a brisk night with the temperatures hovering around the 5 degree F mark with periods of sleet off and on all day. We had a decent day hunting and there were two or three deer hanging in the camp. We had cut up a bit of the meat and made a fantastic deer chili. There is just nothing like good venison chili cooked outdoors on an open campfire. Done up in true Texas fashion with plenty of cayenne as well as jalapeno peppers. Good and spicy. We were all standing around the campfire with our stomachs full of spicy chili and having a great cup of coffee while discussing the days hunt. I noticed that my buddy Berk was a bit distracted as he shifted from one foot to the other. He finally seemed to settle down but it was soon after that that I noticed him rolling something around with his boot. I couldn't tell what it was but it looked like a hickory nut or a buckeye....something like that. He continued to roll it around with his boot and eventually just kicked it into the fire. I didn't think much more of it and had actually forgotten all about it when suddenly there was a loud "POP" . It was so loud that we all jumped and more than a couple of us dumped our coffee. It almost sounded like a gunshot but we had a strict rule of no loaded guns in camp and this was a very safe group so that didn't make sense. It was only a few moments later when there arose such a stink that we were all backing away from each other and trying to figure out WHO had cut the big one. I suspected though that it was even worse than that. Remembering how uneasy Berk had seemed earlier, I immediately pointed at him and asked if he had actually crapped his pants. I honestly thought that MAYBE the chili hadn't set well with him and had caused him some real problems. Well, he assured all of us that he had NOT crapped his pants but we could tell by his embarrassment that he WAS the culprit behind this ordeal. He finally admitted that the chili had indeed caused him some severe gas. Apparently he finally decided that he had to let it go. Much to his surprise though, when he tried to release the gas, no gas came out but instead, a big ball rolled down his pants leg and onto the ground. That's what I had seen him rolling around with his foot and finally kick into the campfire. IT WAS A FROZEN FART! It finally exploded when he kicked it into the fire and thus the loud pop and awful odor. Now THAT my friends, was one of the coldest nights I had ever experienced. If you think THAT'S a tall tale...well....just hold my beer and watch THIS.

I don't know why they haven't replied, maybe they haven't seen the thread but I know that several of our members here pull the Alumna trailers and we actually gave one away as the Grand Prize at last years rally. I've heard nothing but good things about them but I've never pulled one myself.

HEY....that frozen fart story was TRUE. Can't believe there is any doubt.
