I've tried several. I've owned cheap and expensive J&M, AirRider and Edsets. I prefer the Edsets over all the rest.

I don't go along with what the doctors say either. I'm about 6'2...a bit more. I'm usually between 215-220 lbs. I admit that I could stand to lose about 15 lbs. and most of that is right around the waste line. I had a doctor last year tell me that at 6'2" tall and 218 lbs. that I would be classified as obese? Really?

Also check out Motorcycle Gear for jackets. Refresh the page until you see their banner at the top right of the page here.

"Proper Tool for Proper Job, Air Shocks"
Freebird replied to DanC's topic in Royal Star Venture Tech Talk ('99 - '13)
I use that same 0-60 pump. It works great for the rear shock and my Bushtec trailer. I agree that a lower psi gauge for the front would work better but I usually just keep the front at zero and don't worry about them. -
Charlie, you and I went back and forth on this a long time ago. I absolutely do NOT understand what your problem is with the word sex. You feel that any post with the word SEX should be deleted. Since you had to bring it up again, it would be interesting to know if ANYBODY else here considers that a dirty word. Heck...even my driver's license has the word SEX on it.

No problem........I think we ALL need a good ride. I know I do. OK folks...shows over...let's keep on moving...move along now.....

If you do a search you will find a LOT of discussion here on that subject. You really can't search for GPS because that is too few letters for the search engine but search for Garmin and you'll find a lot of posts. It really comes down to how much money you wish to spend. A lot of us took our second mortgages on our homes and went with Zumo 550, 660 and 665 models. They are expensive but pretty much cover all the bases. I have a Zumo 665 and it is a grat unit. It comes with the XM puck and really works well.

OK folks, I have communicated with both parties involved. I'm not going to go into any detail here. I honestly think that this was blown a bit out of proportion. The person called Mel to clear up another issue. He should NOT have called, PERIOD. The telephone numbers are listed for VR Assistance PERIOD. Some people don't mind receiving telephone calls but others really don't like it unless there is a true need. The numbers should NEVER be used because of something posted or said or assumed or anything else. That should be handled by a PM or an email. If you feel that something could be better discussed on the telephone then PM the other member and ask if they are willing to discuss it on the telephone. If they say no, then respect their privacy. To try and be fair minded though, I will also say that I think that Mel overreacted just a bit. Based upon what I know, there was no reason to publicly post about this issue and therefore create a stir where everybody is concerned and wondering what happened. It was simply not a big deal and a simple PM would have very likely ended it. So......I am not putting any blame on Mel and he has every right to remove his telephone number if he so chooses. It is entirely voluntary. I can assure you all though that what happened should not cause anybody else to be concerned about their number being listed.

No, that had nothing to do with anything that may have happened today. That was more or less a general change that I had made. Now there was something that led me to that decision but it has nothing to do with this.

Folks, I have sent Mel a private message and hopefully will know more after he responds. I have no idea what happened and until I do, would prefer that no details be posted. I can promise you that if somebody used any telephone number for telemarketing, harassment, whatever, that it will be dealt with appropriately. I also promise you that I will keep you all updated.

I don't blame you, I would be fed up also. I think there is a number in the back of your owners manual. I also found this on the Star Motorcycle site. I don't know if it's the same number as in your manual or not. Customer Relations (800) 962-7926, press "3" for Star Specialist.

Headlight& Dash light problems
Freebird replied to Bill Feehan's topic in Venture and Venture Royale Tech Talk ('83 - '93)
I just looked at his profile and it's an '86 Venture. It is a good reminder though that folks should put their make and model in the custom title area of their profile. To do so, just go to your UserCP and then click on "edit details" at the top of the left menu. -
Man...that really does sound good. There used to be a lot of places like that around Lake of the Pines in NE Texas. Most of them were gone though before I even left there. It got to where farm raised catfish were all you could find. Chains like David Beard's. I guess they are still around. The farm raised catfish just don't have a lot of taste though. I actually found a place in Bowling Green, KY a few weeks ago when I was there on business that had fairly decent catfish. Nothing like those old hole in the wall places but it was pretty good. They had whole or fillets and I went for the whole catfish because it had been a while since I had been able to find them. Now they have great fish here in NE Ohio too. Lake Erie Yellow Perch and Walleye are excellent but different than those river and lake caught catfish. OH...and another thing that I just thought about...the place in Bowling Green didn't have those pickled green tomatoes...I mean REALLY...

That's FANTASTIC news Tom. I know that you were really wanting to get over there this year. I think we should ALL go.
-
That's not an option. I don't have this money on hand. It is in our account at Motorcyclegear and can only be given out as a gift certificate.
-
For what it's worth, you didn't come across as "tooting your own horn" at all. Wishing to share an experience that brought such joy and fulfillment is a natural thing. Not only am I happy for her and for you but I also sincerely appreciate what you and so many others in your job do. Thanks for being there when we need you.

Let's get one thing perfectly clear....there is no such thing as a X Texan. I am in the north as a service to all my southern brothers and sisters. I have successfully infiltrated these bluecoats but I tell you...there is still much to do here. They know little about the finer things in life....such things as fried catfish and Pittsburg hotlinks. They do seem like a marginally intelligent bunch of folks though. They are capable of learning...though a bit slowly...
-
OK....I just disqualified you from the NEXT contest too.
-
duh....not many things go right over my head...that one did. OK...for making an idiot out of me...I think you should be disqualified.
-
I would still be there arguing with them. Why would it not be covered under warranty and why was towing not FREE as it should be with the roadside assistance that came with your bike? As for the contest, yes, I always use a random number generator to pick the winner.
-
OK folks...here is what I'm going to do. The prize will be a $159.00 gift certificate from Motorcycle Gear ( previously New Enough). You can check them out by clicking on their banner when it comes up at the top of the page. Please note, their program has changed and VentureRider ONLY gets credit from them IF you enter their site by clicking on the banner above when making your purchases. Now for the contest. We all know that we share a common interest in motorcycle riding. That is the one thing that brings us all together here. What else do we know about each other though? Some of us know each other better than others due to eats and meets, local rides, etc. There are some that we know hardly nothing about though. So, to be entered in the drawing the for gift certificate, all you have to do is reply to this thread and tell us ONE MORE hobby that you enjoy in addition to motorcycling. It could be gardening, bee keeping, guitar or other instruments, auto racing....whatever but you have to list at least ONE other interest. That's all there is to this one folks. The contest will run until next Friday at midnight. That is Friday the 25th. First thing on Saturday morning I will randomly draw a winner from all who post to this thread with their hobby or interest.
