  1. I like to use subscriptions to threads to bookmark ones that I like, and to be notified when replies are made. My question is about the mysterious Subscribed Articles and even more mysterious Subscribed Journals on my Home Page. All they ever do is tell me "There are no subscriptions." What is their purpose? Why can't they take me to my Subscription List so that I don't have to go via my User Control Panel? To be honest, that usually takes me a while to remember where it is. Those "Subscribed" links must surely be important to be so high in the links on the left side. I'm just mystified at their purpose.
  2. Folks, if you have purchased a subscription and get a reminder that it is expiring, please let me know. By all means, do NOT pay again. You should only get a reminder a year after you paid. You should NEVER get billed again automatically, I have the yearly subscriptions set to NOT be recurring so it will be your choice if you wish to subscribe again a year from now. A couple of folks have told me that they got emails that their subscriptions are expiring. I apologize if it happens to you but please let me know if it does and by all means, do NOT pay again.
  3. I just finished updating alll the profiles for those of you who have paid your VentureRider dues via PayPal OR mail. Please go to your UserCP and then scroll down until you see "Paid Subscriptions" in the left menu. It should show your paid subscription there. If you sent a check by mail and just recently sent it, then I may have not yet received it but I have entered all that I have received. I'm thinking in about two more weeks I will start making the changes that will restrict posting to subscribed members only. Thanks, Don
  4. First let me say, this is NOT meant to be hitting anybody up for donations. While donations of any amount are always appreciated, they are not required in any way. The purpose of this post is to clear up any confusion about HOW you may donate if you so choose. There are a couple of ways you can donate to VentureRider.org. The money is used to help defray my costs of running this site. Software licensing fees, hosting fees, etc. The simplest and most basic way to donate is to click on the "Donate" button on the far right of the upper menu bar at the home page or here on the forum. When you click that button, you will get a page where you can enter whatever amount you choose to donate and then click the "PayPal Donate" button and it will take you to a PayPal login page where you can complete your transaction. You do not need a PayPal account to use this method. You will see a place to login to your PayPal account if you have one but if not, you will see a link to the left of that that says "Don't have a PayPal account" and if you click on that, you can still donate using any major credit card or an e-check. The second way you can donate is through "Subscriptions". You will find this method in the User CP or via the "donate" button in the right menu. In the User CP, just scroll down until you see the link for "Paid Subscriptions" in the left menu. Click on that and you will see several options from which to choose. There are recurring monthly options as low as $2.00 per month. The monthly subscriptions are automatically deducted from your credit card or account each month. There are also options for yearly subscriptions. These are NOT automatically recurring and you will simply get an email the following year reminding you that it has been a year. Again, this option uses PayPal as the payment processor. The third option is the old fashioned way. Simply send me a PM or an email if you wish to donate via a check or money order and I'll send you my address. Again, you are NOT required to donate in order to participate in this club. Those who donate and those who don't have the same full access to everything that we offer. I fully understand that money is tight for many people and I would NEVER want anybody to donate if they are not financially able to do so. For those who can, it is always MUCH appreciated but for those who can't, I consider your participation here a donation in itself and thank you for it.
  5. OK folks, I have had a number of requests from people who would like an easy way to donate to the support of VentureRider.org and also be reminded of such. Please understand that any support continues to and will ALWAYS be 100% optional. There are now a couple of ways you can help. In the left menu of the forum and the home page is a button that says "Subscribe". This is good for people who do not use PayPal as you can pay by credit card, bank account, or PayPal. It is a recurring $2.00 per month subscription plan. For PayPal users, there is also now a "Paid Subscriptions" option in the UserCP. Just click on UserCP and scroll down to Miscellaneous. You will see "Paid Subscriptions". You can the choose an option of monthly or yearly. At this time, you get nothing extra for helping support the site. Just please know that it is much appreciated. For those of you who have already donated due to the recent server change and even before that, thank you VERY much. You can't know how much it helped. I will also be sending out an email and HOPE that none of you consider it spam. As I said, this is in now way mandatory and whether you choose to help support the site monetarily or not, I am sincerely happy that you are a part of our group.
