  1. I've had a lot of cars over the years that I would like to have back. A couple of '69 Camaros, a '73 Chevelle SS 454, a 72 Buick Gran Sport 455 and several others but my all time favorite was my '74 Challenger. It was only a 318 but I loved that car. I guess if I had to choose only one to have back that would be it.
  2. GEEEZZZZ..........who's making WHO feel old?
  3. I have the Dyna 3000 on mine and I don't think there is any benefit at all unless you just like to occasionally stomp on it. Every once in a while, I get the urge to hammer it and having the higher rev limiter is really nice. That along with the VMAX rear which I also have installed is really fun when you just want to play a bit.
  4. It's a size issue. Your Speedy is clipped also. The max height of the signature is 150 pixels.
  5. 2006 would have been the 103 also and the numbers look about right.
  6. More great pictures. They sure help keep the memories fresh.
  7. YES...my TEEN years...HEY...I'm not as old as I look. I graduated from high school in 1973 so those were the cars that I grew up with.
  8. OK....what is the pic you are trying to insert? I see a Goldwing now. Is that what you are seeing? Is that the one that you are trying to replace?
  9. I stopped by to see a customer today in Knox, PA. While talking, I noticed a picture of a '68 Plymouth Roadrunner convertible on the wall beside his desk. I asked him if that was one that he wished he had kept and he said...Heck...I still have it. Turns out that he is a big Mopar fan. He asked if I wanted to see some old cars and of course I did. We ended up walking through 3 buildings full of early to late 60 Mopars and a couple of early 70 models. This was a very nice guy dressed in Dickie's work clothes and you would think that he was just any regular guy but he had probably close to a million dollars worth of cars in those buildings. Not junk...NICE cars. Most were in very nice original condition or very lightly restored. He had 2 Roadrunner convertibles, 2 beautiful Superbirds, a number of early sixty Satellites, 300's, etc. A couple of early 70 Challengers and several other great cars. All had original engines and most were 383, 440, etc. It was a real treat to walk through and see the cars, sit in them and remember the muscle cars from my teen years. You just never know what you are going to run into.

Most of the Harleys that I have seen simply have larger speakers. I think that they are at least 5 x 7. Much better than the little 4" speakers that we have.
  12. Tom, I would have him just press the schrader valves and make sure that both are completely empty. Other than that, it is likely that the steering heads still need to be tightened just a little bit. We can check it when he gets to my house. Did he say what days he might be in Oberlin?
  13. Uh...I think that V7Goose would have figured that. Check post 6 in this thread.
  14. Here is a cut and paste from the Edsets site. If you own a Venture or Voyager, and yes, the Harley Ultra, you can simply order the 3G Goldwing Headsets below for each of these bikes. The Harley requires a mic preamp, so we will provide that as part of the package. The HD has a 7-pin system, but the two "extra" pins are not needed or used, so the same 5-Pin cable works on the HD. The new Kawasaki Voyagers will use the same as our HD headset, but a different lower cable pinout, which is not in production till late summer 2010.
  15. hmmmm....I wonder if it has something to do with California emissions?
  16. I recently read that though the Harley is a 7 pin cable, that only 5 of the pins are actually used and that a standard 5 pin headset will work. I have no verified that though. I saw this information on the Edsets website.
  17. I'm one that loves them. I THINK that the reason some people like them and some don't is the placement of the speakers. The speakers are very thin and should be close to the ears. I think that many people put them in the hollowed out part of the helmet when old and thicker speakers were removed. I don't even have mine behind the lining. I have them on the outside of the helmet lining so that they are right next to my ears. They are thin enough that they are still comfortable and they sound fantastic.

There are differences of opinion on this issue. I've tried the Pioneers and the Polks. I still have the Polk speakers installed. I think that they are better than stock but unless your stock speakers are blown, not THAT much better. I decided long ago that we are just not going to get fantastic sound out of these little 4" speakers. I messed with it too long and even tried adding a small amp but nothing really made them sound great. I too liked listening to the stereo through the outside speakers but after buying the Edset headsets, I was finally pleased with the sound through the headsets and gave up on improving the external speaker system.
  20. I agree with Buddy.
  21. I love all the changes that I made but I've said it before and I haven't changed my mind. If I could have made only two changes, they would be: Driver's backrest KuryAkyn highway pegs A lot of the other additions and changes are nice but those two make the difference between me being able to ride 50 miles or 1000 miles.
  22. It's a fair deal. I did a quick search and didn't find them any cheaper. You might spend a lot of time looking and find then a few dollars cheaper but not much.
  23. Fine looking young couple Monty. I hope that they have a long and happy life together.
  24. Pretty darn good pics.
  25. Here are a couple of threads that should help. http://www.venturerider.org/forum/showthread.php?t=15135 http://www.venturerider.org/forum/showthread.php?t=10640
