  1. OK then....we have our winner. WOW...that was EASY. I'll send you an invoice. Actually, you can order a set from AdChrome at any time. They really look nice. OK folks, I have something in mind. I'll post details here in a bit.
  2. Yes, part number is STR-4NK27-15-02 This is the part number for the ball milled version.
  3. RMSPORTMAX is doing them for $300.00 exchange. That is where I got mine several years ago. Paul is great to deal with. http://rmsportmax.com/gateway.html
  4. I saw that last year and it's a great video and the message pretty much says it all. Thank you for reminding me not only of the video but the reason for the season.
  5. Hey...we are going to sweeten the pot a bit. BVinson has donated a brand new 4GB IPOD shuffle so we are going to have a first prize of the covers and a second prize of the IPOD. Still have to come up with a contest though. So here is the second prize. 6. This may be what you are looking for. http://www.venturerider.org/forum/showthread.php?threadid=41530
  7. Naw, that one was too easy.
  8. OK folks, it's been a while since we have had a contest. Thanks to AdChrome, I think it's time that we do just that very thing. Now I realize that this is a second gen/RSTD specific item but that's just the way it goes sometimes. So....we are going to have a contest and give this beautiful set of carb covers away to some lucky winner. Now I just have to decide WHAT kind of contest it will be. I'll be getting back to you soon on that.
  9. I agree. It's a Corbin. 99.9% sure.
  10. Maybe the answer to the deer problem is not a gadget that we put on our bikes, all have which have failed to work when scientifically tested. Maybe the answer is this: http://www.foxnews.com/leisure/2012/11/27/electronic-deer-deterrent-could-prevent-over-1-million-accidents-each-year/?intcmp=features Will be interesting to see what comes from it.
  11. I actually installed stainless steel brake, clutch and throttle lines when I installed the Flanders bars a few years ago. I do have aftermarket horns that are plenty loud but mine are installed inside the fairing. The Twink covers are Yamaha brand. They are very difficult to find. Eusa actually came across this set.
  12. If she listened to me, we wouldn't be getting trees to start with.
  13. Do not.
  14. They are the covers right at the base of the V where the cylinders come together.
  15. Well I can't afford more chrome right now anyway. I DO have Nanci making me a custom set of saddlebag lid covers though.
  16. Well, after owning the '99 since....'99, I think I am now done with the engine chrome. Unless something else shows up. Diamond cut fins, balled milled twinky covers, carb covers and air breather covers. The twinky covers were here when I got home today. I'm happy with it.
  17. How many trees do you REALLY need. I just got home from a week on the road and there are two dump trucks and a CAT with a tree spade running all over my yard. I didn't even know it but apparently we needed more trees. So....they are putting in 15 new 12-14 ft. Norway Spruces and Canadian Hemlocks and moving 7 other trees that Eileen decided were in the wrong place. Lucky me....new stuff to mow around.
  18. I agree with running synthetic and just not worrying about it. I don't do many trips of that distance but I run Mobil 1 for motorcycles and would not be at all concerned. I did a trip a few years ago that was somewhere around 6500 miles and changed the oil and filter when I got home. Didn't concern me at all.

To be honest, there doesn't seem to be a lot of interest in the idea anyway so probably best to just let it go.
  20. Not sure about the Royal Star but the RSV has had carb heaters from the first year in 1999.

I agree. It would be absolutely essential to post all the numbers ahead of the drawing.

Oh I think it's too late for this time. That is tomorrow. If there is enough interest to do this, I would suggest that we get it started and let people contribute until the next time it gets big. You all decide at what point to pull the trigger. There can be no cheating. Everybody will know that they have contributed and the total is publicized everywhere.

If there is enough interest, I'm game.
  24. I didn't throw the Poulan but I sure came close. I will mess with it later and hopefully get it running and then have it for a spare maybe. I can tell you though, on it's best day it wasn't nowhere near as good as this new Husky.
  25. I think the bike is worth the money. But I love the paint job. Now we have all been told that from a sellers standpoint, we should never expect to get back what we have spent on accessories. From a buyers standpoint though, If I were buying a bike and knew that I wanted to add some or all of those things then they would certainly be worth something to me. If somebody has spent thousands on accessories that I would eventually add anyway and I was getting them already installed at a greatly discounted price, I would be all over it. The other thing is that Yamaha has discontinued many of those items so you might have a hard time even finding some of them. Beautiful bike. If you like it, GO for it.
