super brace
Freebird replied to adventurer 08's topic in Venture and Venture Royale Tech Talk ('83 - '93)
Just a quick clarification here folks. Condor was selling, may still have some, custom made heavy duty fork braces. From all reports, they are a very good product. They are NOT Superbraces though. Superbrace is a brand name and is copyrighted. Please know that Condor is NOT selling the Superbrace brand fork brace. -
Shock was empty but no leak?
Freebird replied to CantWin1's topic in Royal Star Venture Tech Talk ('99 - '13)
Can you link to some of those posts about people draining the oil and re-filling because to be honest, I've never heard of anybody doing that. There are many instances of the shocks going bad (leaking oil) but still holding air. They are certainly a separate chamber. It is impossible to drain and replace the oil through the air valve. I don't remember those posts of anybody doing that. -
Front springs need to be changed. Most people replace them with Progressive Springs.

Yes, thanks.

OK folks, all the flags were mailed yesterday except for two orders that came in later yesterday and they were mailed this morning. You should be receiving them soon. I have placed an ad in the VentureRider Merchandise forum for any of you who may still wish to order one or more.
-
OK...I just looked and I did get it. I didn't get the notification because that's an OLD email address. I haven't had verizon for a couple of years now as they changed to frontier in my area. Any of you who still have verizon as my email address need to update your contacts please. You can use dnelson@venturerider.org I also have a couple more at frontier.com but that one is probably best for here.

OK...all the flags that have been ordered to this point are in envelopes, addressed and ready to be mailed first thing tomorrow morning. Before I do anything like this again, some of you are going to need to change your names and/or addresses. Geezzzeeee.....some of you need to buy a vowel.
-
If you sent it, I don't think I have received it.

SOLD OUT! Very nice quality. Should last a long time I think. Approximately 6" x 10". $12.00 each includes postage within the USA. $14.00 each if outside the USA. To order, please PayPal to dnelson@venturerider.org

$11.00. Please include your address if you PayPal for one or more. Folks, It looks like I have about 35 extras so there are plenty if you want to order one.
-
Yes, I ordered a few extra. I will know exactly how many after I get them all packaged and ready to mail. I know I have at least 20 or so extra though.
-
OK folks. The flags were here when I got home yesterday. Today I will get them in envelopes and addressed and then sent out first thing Monday morning. I think they turned out pretty well. Appear to be good quality that should hold up for a long time.

If you post a picture, I bet we'll figure it out. They made a lot of bikes that fit that description. Could be a KZ900, KZ1000, there were others also. I think they also made a 750.

There is a about a 99.99% chance that you pictures are too big. Try resizing them to no larger than 640 x 480. You can try it first without any pictures and I'll bet it works. Then go back and edit your ad and upload the pictures. I'll be they are too large though and once you re-size them, it will be fine.

Yes, I ordered extras.

I just received an email that the new VentureRider flags have shipped. I should have them in about 3 business days which means I should be able to get them in the mail to you next weekend. I'm exited to see them and will post a picture once they arrive.

I am actually surprised but not that it didn't change, I am truly surprised that they offered one at all. I was surprised last year and even more so this year. One thing that I thought about is that they missed a real opportunity here. Would this not be the 30 year anniversary for the Yamaha Venture? It would have been a great year to made some significant changes and come out with an anniversary model.

LOL...yea right. If it makes you feel any better, nobody believed you anyway.

Same thing, different color. http://www.starmotorcycles.com/star/products/modelhome/586/0/home.aspx

You simply click on the picture to enlarge it. If it can't be enlarged, then it is most likely that you are already seeing it in the size that was uploaded. Give me a link to one that you are trying and I'll take a look.

It can be done. It's just a matter of setting everything up properly. I messed with it a bit myself. I built a 30 x 60 ft. greenhouse for that very purpose. Those who have been to maintenance day have seen the greenhouse. I originally built it to play around with an aquaculture project. We went to a seminar at Ohio State University to get some training. We had six 3,000 gallon tanks and drilled a well for the water supply. We had it all plumbed with bio filters, sand filters and UV sterilizers. All water was recycled. We had two of the tanks setup and running with about 3,000 yellow perch. They were growing very well until we made a fatal mistake and ended up making about 6,000 gallons of fish soup. It was a dumb mistake and we expected to make at least a couple of mistakes while learning. This one was caused by a temperature control problem. Anyway, we never started it again because we realized that we had underestimated the heating costs. Having no option here other than propane for heating, I just came to the conclusion that it would not be profitable enough to continue. So...... It can be done though and in areas where solar heat, warmer temperatures, even natural gas, I think I would try it again. Propane is just too expensive though. With the proper filtration, waste water and etc. are just not an issue.

I have eaten a lot of catfish but mostly when I was younger. In the early days, most came out of Texas rivers and lakes but most of it later was farm raised. There were, probably still are, a lot of fish farms in Texas and other southern states.
