Please join me in welcoming Ad Custom Chrome to the list of vendors who offer us a discount. Brian manufactures the carb covers for the RSV and RSTD. I had to give this one some serious thought because we already have a long time member here, slowrollwv, who makes and sells the carb covers and also twinky covers. Brian understood my hesitation and desire to be fair about this and offered the solution that he would not market the smooth finish covers here but only the ball milled and custom engraved covers that slowrollwv is not selling. I think that was very fair of him. He seems like a great guy and I have no problem welcoming him to our family. You can find his ad with links to his website here: http://www.venturerider.org/forum/showthread.php?p=726638#post726638

Yes, I already have those though. What I'm looking for is the ball milled twinky covers to match them.

From what I've seen, Charles does a fantastic job on the covers that he makes. If he had them in ball milled, I would have already bought a set. I really encourage any of you looking for the twinky or carb covers to contact him. His username here is slowrollwv and here is a link to his profile so that you can send him a PM or an email. http://www.venturerider.org/forum/member.php?do=getinfo&u=3801

I thought he was just making the twinky covers? Anyway, I would love to have a set of the twinky covers but am keeping my eyes open for a set of the balled milled ones to match my other stuff.

That website does not seem to be right. Did you spell it correctly? -
Another one that I've seen a lot of lately is that I have received a fax. There is a link to click on to retrieve the fax. I haven't researched it and would NEVER click on any link that I wasn't sure where came from but just a warning in case others of you get it.

There is one last thing I would check before thinking the worse. Inside the fairing there are 5 large connectors that connect the various components. If you open the fairing, you will see them on the left side of the headlamp as you face the front of the bike. These connectors are well known to suffer from contact issues. They are maybe an inch in diameter so easy to find. MANY MANY of us have had to open the fairing and re-seat these connectors. It is usually necessary to unplug them and plug them back in a few times to get them to make good contact again. The normal practice is to then use so dielectric grease on them. That is the next thing I would try and about the only other thing I can think of.

Are you SURE that the CB volume is at max? If it is and you are having a low volume problem then it is something other than the antenna. You probably know this but I'm just trying to make sure all bases are covered. The CB volume is separate from the radio volume. You have to press the CB button to make sure you are on CB and then turn the volume up. If that is the case and you do indeed have the cb volume on 20 then there is certainly a problem with the system other than the antenna. There is no way that I could run mine on 20. I would be able to hear it a half block away.

I know...but mine end with...WOW...what a way to go.

Well you guys can laugh all you want but I would NOT want to be the one riding it when the owner finds out who stole her shoe.
-
LOL....now I'm thinking that would be a bit top heavy.

and just WHAT is wrong with purple flannel trousers? I be STYLING?

Well all the flags would probably need to come from the same place to ensure that they match. If you find a source, let us know. I can't imagine that they are too terribly expensive.
-
Have you found a place to BUY them. If so, maybe we can help. I would be willing to pay for one.
-
You are probably right but if there are even a few that would like to attend both functions, that would be too bad. I would ask that other VR meets and eats not be scheduled for the same time as the International.

I use 87. That is what the bike is designed to use and paying more for higher grades is just a waste of money. I've experimented a bit and saw now improvements in performance nor fuel economy when using mid or high grade.

They used to have prices on the site but apparently removed them. I just did some searching and am now thinking that they are too expensive at just over $3,000.00 for the 9,000 lb. lift. This one looks to be very good and a lot less money. http://www.bestbuyautoequipment.com/4-Post-Lifts-s/290.htm

So this is the place that guy was talkin about... Hi Ya'll!

That was just a GREAT introduction. Welcome again and we hope to see you more around here and on the road. I see that you are in Michigan. You are plenty close to make my annual Maintenance Day in Oberlin, OH in June. -
I was thinking about one a couple of years ago but had decided to go with a 4 post. This is the one that I had decided on but decided I didn't need to spend the money. http://www.backyardbuddy.com/

Obviously it worked that time. I have no idea what is causing that but it's something to do with the way your camera saves the pictures or something.
-
It is something about the actual picture and I'm not sure what. I saved your picture and tried to upload it and I got the link also. I just opened it again with my picture editor and then without making any changes, just saved it again. Going to attach it now and see what happens.
