  1. I think that is a matter of opinion. I think that the Voyager is a nice bike but no way would I say that it is a LOT nicer than a Venture. I can't even say that it is ANY nicer than a Venture. I road one at the International last year and I enjoyed it. There were things about it that felt flimsy though and I am not 100% sold on the design of the fairing. It ran OK but is a fairly typical V Twin. Those that love the V4 are not going to be impressed.
  2. I run Mobil 1 for motorcycles and I can assure you that Yamaha will absolutely NOT void your warranty for using it. That is a fact from talking to Yamaha and to Mobil. I don't expect that Honda or Harley would either. As long as an oil meets the specifications, they can not, by law, void your warranty for using it.
  3. That's up to you and the other folks that live in Florida. The Maintenance Days happen when a member in an area steps up to have one.
  4. I've had Rick's brake mod kit installed for several years. It works GREAT.
  5. Very nice. Now they know what we all know.

  7. It's not uncommon at all. You can screw an old sparkplug into that hole and use it to pull the plug out. The new one just presses in and the fins keep pressure on them. A lot of people have taped a dime onto the fin just over where the plug is and it puts enough extra pressure on it to stop the leak.
  8. I also got that one claiming to be from the BBB but a quick search proved it was a scam. I also received too others last week. One claimed that a group was applying to take over the domain name venturerider.org They claimed that I was not registered on a couple of Asian domain registries and that it was going to cause confusion for my "company". They assured me that they could take care of it for the right amount of money. The second was a reverse of the ones claiming that I had won millions of dollars. This new one claimed that a Mr. Somebody had filed papers claiming that he was my next of kin and that I had died in a car crash. He had submitted the proper paperwork and the banks were preparing to transfer 10 million dollars out of my account to him. LOL....good luck with that.
  9. One would think that I would feel better now. NOT!
  10. HEY.....I'm RIGHT HERE!
  11. I'll post when I order again. Just haven't done so because there hasn't been much interest in it.
  12. I'm not reading this thread, in case you were wondering.
  13. My bike is "Bike". My truck is "Truck". My boat is "Boat". Don't know if the wife named her car or not. She calls it her baby.
  14. Maybe I just missed it but I don't see where Ride On was mentioned. That seems to be the sealant that most here have used. I've never used any type of sealant in my tires but from the reports I've read here, it seems to be the product of choice and does not harm aluminum rims.
  15. Sorry, only supporting members can post to the classifieds. Otherwise, we got too many people just joining and spamming them.
  16. I can tell you without a doubt that it did NOT affect the speedometer when I changed mine out. If it did, I would just recalibrate the speedohealer that I already had installed anyway to correct the factory settings.
  17. Nobody really knows what it was for. I heard that it was used to attach a display stand that Yamaha used. Yamaha never offered a center stand for the RSV. There were some on the aftermarket from Rivco, Diamond R Accessories and myself that do use that bracket for mounting.
  18. Please welcome Ace High Leathers to our great group of Silver Vendors. Nanci will be posting specials here from time to time and has donated generously to our past rallies. Please visit her site for fantastic leather products including tank bibs, saddlebag lid covers, much more. http://www.acehighleathers.com
  19. Ed, Under the fake fin/cylinder covers there are what look like freeze plugs. They just press in and are held in place by the covers. There have been a number of instances where they developed seeps and it sounds like what you have. They are not very expensive and easy to change out. Some people have just taped a dime over the so that they covers put more pressure on them but changing them out would be the best route to take.
  20. Live without onions would be like peanut butter with no jelly.
  21. Any friend of yours is a friend of mine.
  22. The engine breather cover is held on by one screw. The twinky shaped piece that it covers has a screw on each end. You remove the outer screw and it drops through a recessed hole in the new cover and then threads back into the original hole. The carb covers have spacers behind them. On the RSV, there are what look like stamped metal strips around the choke linkage and etc. if I remember correctly and the screw and spacers screw into existing holes in those strips. It's been a while since I looked but it was something like that.
  23. Jonas, Take a look at a picture I posted of engine and you'll see the "twinky" covers at the base between the cylinders. The official name is engine breather covers I think. http://www.venturerider.org/forum/showthread.php?threadid=74648
  24. If it is a Progressive, it looks like you got a bargain on it. Congrats.
  25. Figures. WAY too much ice cream to flush down any one system. hmmmmmm Well, hope things get better soon. Sounds like a real crappy situation.
